    Veggie items to go

I prefer not to eat at buffets because I eat like a bird, or so I've been told. But my brother doesn't. Ha! He was here visiting from L.A. and I joined our parents and him to eat lunch on a Saturday. The food is definitely fresh. I ate tabbouli, stuffed grape leaves, rice, okra and hummus. I wasn't that hungry. The baklava was delicious and not soggy. I tried a cookie with jam too. Very good! They need better quality napkins. I was shocked when I went to the cash register to pay. With tax, I paid $25.97. Ouch! The buffet is worth it if you eat meat and are a decent eater. I'm not returning unless it's to pick up food to go as you pay for weight.

Dimassi's Mediterranean Food was absolutely delicious. Everything from the savory dishes to the desserts was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. The buffet had a great variety, the food was fresh, and the price was very reasonable for the quality and selection you get. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving good Mediterranean food.

New Dimassi's Buffet location and great quality. Service and atmosphere: The team members were all friendly, helpful, and appreciative of food quality comments. The restaurant was clean and well organised. This location offers good number of tables and plenty of parking spaces outside. Food and drinks: The selection is very good and all foods on display looked fresh and healthy. The foods had good flavours and seasoning. You will definitely receive Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine at this Dimassi's Restaurant! Pricing: $$ inexpensive for the quality and well worth it. Come and check it out!

My guilty pleasure in Houston is Dimassi's because the food quality is great for the price and I just love Mediterranean food. Just recently opened and the restaurant is very clean. Workers are very friendly, attentive, and they came by more than I expected to ask how we were doing and clean up our plates. Foods range from hummus to salads to gyros. They also lamb shanks! Also vegetarian-friendly. I have been to other locations and I think the salads and pita bread here taste more fresh - I would literally come back just for the bread. Price is well worth all the food that you get. I wish they branch out to other states!

    Such tasty food

The ambiance is nice but I remember the food tasting better and more options in my past. It's okay for the money.

The food is just ok. Not authentic Mediterranean but adequate. Not a lot of spice or flavor. It's a standard American buffet. It's clean.

All dinners come with a Greek garlic bread starter. I love their iced tea- fresh brewed and always good! The wine is Greek and seems a small bit pricey, but for the extra dollar or two it's worth it- Very delicious. Anything you get at Athena's is amazing so feel free to branch out on your choice. And the desserts are large and homemade! It's hard to save room though. You'll love the fish, steaks, and kebabs. They do a nice lunch sandwich- and still comes with the bread and a Greek salad. If you come on a weekend evening, you may run into the owner having the time of her life! And they take pride in serving the most sweet and ripe slice of melon with every dish. Started to enjoy this first each time I come. It is that delicious, but why can't I find fruit like that anywhere at a grocery store? Give this place a try. Yummy. Officially the authentic Greek restaurant without going overboard. Wait- the homemade 3 layer chocolate cake and the lemon cake! Actually bought a whole one for a large birthday party and everyone wanted to know the bakery name- just Athena's homemade cake! Remember, Greek food is fresh with best ingredients. Service is above that notch and family atmosphere with Greek music- always. But I do find I'm stopping in there solo all the time; others too! Owner and chef, Maria, is very friendly, with high standards, not only for the food, but everything. Restaurant looked very clean and orderly. Enjoyed the big screen TV with authentic Greek singers and dancers. My sister had the trout and my husband had Gyro. We all had salads and enjoyed the made from scratch, delicious salad dressing. Will definitely be back regularly, and will also plan on getting to go order. My husband got a pound of Gyro meat to go, and it came with pita bread and Taziki sauce.

Their Impossible kubideh in particular genuinely surprised me - in the best way. I don't usually gravitate toward meat substitutes at all, and I've tried making kubideh and ghormeh sabzi at home. It just never comes close to this. It's not often I find restaurants where the vegetarian options don't feel like an afterthought, but Kasra absolutely gets it right.
