Best breakfast place. Love the vibe! Went around 9 on a Friday morning with my husband and kids (10 months and 3). My husband was singing along with the music the whole time lol. I had the breakfast tacos with bacon and they were delicious. Except for the fancy cheese was a little smelly and off putting but I think that's just the way that cheese is. It came with a side of fruit which was fresh and sooo good. My husband had the chicken fried steak and he loved it. He did complain the potatoes soaked up the gravy though. The kids shared biscuits and gravy . They both loved it and my husband and I helped ourselves the rest of their gravy. The gravy was some of the best we've had. The service was perfect. Three years since my last review. We wanted to try someplace we hadn't been in awhile for breakfast. Arrived on a Monday around 11am. Found parking pretty close. Had to wait a couple of minutes to be greeted and shown to our table on the second level, seated right by a group of 16 who weren't real loud thank goodness. Waters brought. Waitress took our order without writing anything down and there's the first problem. Both our orders when they arrived were wrong. She apologized and fixed the problem pretty quickly. I had the Two Egg Breakfast with bacon and breakfast potatoes ($10.95. The potatoes were basically grease covered potato balls. I wouldn't eat these for free at the fair. The bacon was good but also covered in grease. The eggs were fine. Wheat toast but no jam or jelly on the table. Could've asked but decided not to. Coffee refilled promptly. We both had Mimosas ($2.75). My partner got Oatmeal with about 6 strawberries on top ($7.95). It's still an "okay" place that can get pretty loud when busy. Could be worse. I definitely needed a waffle and coffee on such a rainy day! Yelp to the rescue as always, and I was disappointed. The parking leaves much to be desired, but I suppose it's downtown. My friend and I were greeted and seated promptly. Coffee and water came just as quickly. It was packed due to a 5k/10k run that was going on that day, but the wait was only about 20 minutes which was totally worth it. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with an extra biscuit on the side. I just had breakfast at Dilly diner this morning. I had not eaten here for quite some time, and I will say the breakfast burrito was delicious. The only problem was the waitress that managed the counter where I sat where I sat. She never came back to see if I enjoyed my food. She didn't ask if I wanted something else. She didn't even bring my food to me, it was the kitchen staff. When I paid my bill, she didn't even thank me for coming. despite the food being very good I think customer service is not exactly on par. Hanging out with friends this Saturday morning in Dilly Diner for the first time and it was quite nice. The food was better than I expected and the services was decent as well. This place has a hip vibe and so crowded that people has to huddle around the front of the inside entrance waiting to be seated. The front portion of the restaurant has a very nice size full bar and some seating area. The place is well-lit and clean. The inner part of the restaurant is platformed up a few steps and provides more seating areas along with some cozier booths. We have a part of 4 with a toddler. I am glad to see that as crowded as they are, we are still able to be seated quite comfortably. Now the food: We ordered the Chicken Waffles - the chicken is lightly seasoned and very delicious. But it's on the thinner side, not the highly crunchy chicken fingers type you got from Metro Diner or from the Cheddars. I personally don't like the waffle too much, it's very soft and a little bit too chewy for me. I expect a good waffle should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and never chewy. The Rueben with the breakfast potatoes on the side is a very good dish! The corn beef is seasoned and cooked very well. It tastes like something that's custom-made, not the ones you can buy in the delii meat department for sure. The toasted rye bread was also yummy, I can taste the ingredients in it! The Huevos Rancheros is a well-balanced dish with very generous portion and my friend really dig it. Breakfast burrito is one of the most popular dishes in that place and the red tortilla flour wrapper is like a red-riding hood, pretty fancy looking don't you think? What surprises me is the size of the side order of the scrambled eggs dish, I wonder if I could even call it a side item to be honest. Anyway, there are so many things awaiting for me to explore in this place, but I probably would shy from coming here during weekend mornings though. It's too crowded and noisy for me. Cold brew coffee was delish, I added cream to perfect it. Ordered The Meg with the avocado and was impressed. The egg and bacon was cooked exactly as ordered and the bread was fresh. Note that adding avocado is $1 extra and you get one large slice, so if you're an avid avocado eater, be sure to ask for a double addition (for $2). The service was so great, our waiter was attentive and the gentleman that delivered our food was more than happy to grab anything else needed. We were immediately seated on a Saturday night without any issue. Started off with two beers that were very reasonably priced and both Oklahoma beers, so that was nice to see local restaurants supporting local breweries. S.O. and I went halvsies on two dishes: the BBQ pork nachos and the chicken fried steak. We have been wanting to try this place out for a while since we have always heard about it from Tulsa natives. We had tried to come here on another occasion, but the wait was always too long to fit our plans. Finally we decided to go for Mother's Day. We obviously went in to eat knowing that the wait on Mother's Day would be lengthy. To my surprise, when we got there we were told it would be 30-45 mins and they mentioned that that was "to be on the safe side". We waited the 45 minutes and then, after about 1hr 15 mins of waiting, we noticed several groups getting seated who had arrived after us. We went to check on our spot in line and were told we were still on the list. About 10 minutes later we were finally seated, mind you as we walked through the restaurant and saw plenty of empty space Our server brought us water that had looked like it was sitting around on a counter for a while, there we a few half melted ice cubes in semi-cool water. We ordered our food and it came out quickly and it was delicious, but nothing too unique on the menu aside from the crispy beets which were amaaaaazing! The spicy bacon burger is legit spicy even though it just has cherry peppers on it - it is a must get if you like spicy burgers! So I loved the food, but I still can't give this place more than a 3. We spent an hour and a half waiting for food you could get at a lot of other places with MUCH better service. Some other notes on the service: it seemed like everyone was unhappy to be there-which I get it it is Mother's Day and you would rather not work, but damn, I felt like I was bothering them by coming in. I arrived at the Dilly Diner around 11:20 and was told there would be a 15 minute wait. The wait flew by, as I amused myself by drooling over the menu and taking in the cute atmosphere of the restaurant. Soon, we were escorted by our friendly waitress to a booth (Woohoo! I love booths!) Even the strawberry jam was above and beyond- it must have been freezer jam, because it was so FRESH; like a taste of summer! The real showstopper was the potatoes. Normally breakfast potatoes are kind of underwhelming to me; greasy with too many spices--ya feel me?-- But not these potatoes... oh no... THESE potatoes blew my socks off!!!!
