These little diners have personality. That's why I like them much more than the latest and greatest trendy, metro diners. Portions a little larger, prices a little lower, a little better bargain. Almost always friendly attentive service. And a serving of bacon is 4 slices instead of two! I'd like to give Tim's a perfect score, but the biscuit. That sad excuse for a breakfast biscuit will not win any ribbons at the state fair. The rest of the plate was cooked perfectly. Check the pictures. My wife had the banana pancake with pecans and a side of bacon. A big fluffy pancake it was. Slices of fresh bananas and enough pecans pieces to keep a squirrel fed through winter. This was perhaps the most classic diner experience I've ever had and it was just the perfect atmosphere. It was just so homey and I felt like the staff were friends. Everyone was kind and warm and it was just a casual and perfect fit for the place. The food was delicious with the big cinnamon roll and a delicious ham steak. This isn't on the menu, but there are homemade pies that are rotated weekly with all kinds of flavors! I loved my experience here and will be coming back many more times in the future to try more things! First official review of the year! Tim's is a hidden gem! The staff is helpful, kind and funny! They really like people here! The diner is nice and clean and plenty of seating. My curiosity has lead me here to solve the mystery on why Tim's Diner is still Phill's Diner on Yelp. Tim is a long time customer of Phill's Diner. Phill sold the restaurant to Tim after owning the place for 23 years in 2020 when COVID hits its peak. After buying the place, Tim has never bothered to change the name on Yelp but the name has been changed to Tim's Diner on Google. The best thing about this diner is all the original staffs continue to work for the establishment bringing over their experiences as well of plenty of attitudes. All the employees are a little of "older" age and I love that. The only thing I don't like here is the tip system. You pay at the cashier in the front who will ask you if you would like to add a tip then the cashier would add a tip in for you and you don't have to sign anything. I prefer if they just charge me for the amount and give me the merchant copy and I can add a tip in myself. The way they're doing it puts pressure on their customers to tip. This diner has Tim's $8 favorites menu which is one of the best features, making breakfast very affordable. The food is delicious. read more

We stopped in Tim's for breakfast since we were in the area. It's a typical diner with a lot of regulars. But the prices are great! As we arrived we were greeted by a waitress who seated us at a booth. We ordered a cinnamon roll to start. It came out warm, with the icing melted all over (and it was huge)! Can't be beat for $3.50. We also enjoyed breakfast meals, which came with hash browns along with a biscuit and gravy. Name is now Tim's Diner. We had fast service from the moment we walked in. Someone was taking our drink order and giving us menus as we set down. Waitress was then there in a few min taking order and answering questions we had. Super Nice and polite. Our food was out quickly my plate was sone just like I ordered it. This is a diner that has been here and it is nothing fancy but it is nice and clean. I love places like this just a diner. I got the Country Ham (thinker slice, like Have steak) breakfast with 2 eggs, Fried potatoes, and a side of 2 sausage patties. The country game was delicious, I'm not much care for ham for breakfast but I had seen a photo and it looked amazing, definitely did not disappoint. The eggs I ordered Over easy and they were perfectly cooked. Lots of places they are over cooked. The fried potatoes are boiled, diced and then deep fried. They are definitely crispy. They were good but to me and my taste would be better with fried onions and a little less time in the fryer. The sausage was spot on, loved they had patties with so many places going to links. First things first.....it's no longer Phils it's now Tim's Diner. No clue of the reason or the story behind the name change. I'm just guessing a poker game was involved and Lady Luck was fickle toward Phil.... Having never eaten when Phil owned the joint I can't compare...but... let me say this... Tim makes a mean man-sized breakfast. Massive portions at meager prices. Hopefully Tim scored more than the deed to the place to help with start up costs, because with these portions at these prices, Phil will get the place back on the cheap at the Sheriff's sale in a year or two. We have been here before and always enjoyed it. We happened to be in town for Christmas and decided to stop. Not sure if it had changed hands or not but it had a strong unfriendly tone in the staff. We knew we were in for a wait but not the unfriendly staff. The woman who sat us said, "we'll see if someone will actually get your drink order." We shrugged that off, but decided to leave when after a 35 minute wait no one had come to the table and we heard a waitress audibly complain that we were sat in her section. We turned in the menus and the counter person never asked why we were leaving. We were saddened by this but assume they did not need our money or patronage. End of an era. read more

First off, two of us didn"t end up paying, so I can say that the waitress didn't hesitate to try and make it right. There just wasn't any saving this awful experience. I ordered Tues special Pot Roast and ordered 3 sides. One was a side salad. I even watched the waitress make it. It's just lettuce... but my issue was it's was room temperature . Lettuce is a finicky item....the lettuce sits in some kinda mop bucket looking thing on the counter. Salad is supposed to be crisp and refreshing, not limp and room temp. My pot roast was bland and uninspired and pretty sad looking. My co-worker got Steakfinger special. 2 of the pieces were so overcooked that I couldn't even break it in half in front of our waitress. She didn't charge us as I stated before, so there is that. Perhaps breakfast is better, but I'm pretty sure I won't be trying it based on this experience. I wish I had taken pictures but I was so shocked. We have eaten there when it was Phil's and it was decent. Something has changed, not sure what! read more

I found myself in Tulsa this morning, flying solo on a trip to let my daughter's dog out for the morning. They were in OKC overnight, and they have a dog that is in for the night and out for the day, and I had pooch patrol. Once the necessaries were tended to, my thoughts inevitably turned to breakfast. I'd had a very light dinner the night before, and was hungry, bordering on hangry (you know... so hungry you start getting angry about it).... Fully trusting my dining possibilities to Yelp!, I let it make some recommendations for me, and Phil's was the closest to my current locale that looked promising. Found the place easily enough, although I'd had no idea it was even there. That's not really surprising though, since that's not my normal area of operations, except for the occasional (and altogether infrequent) trip to My Thai Kitchen. Parking lot was full on a Saturday morning at 8:00, so that's always a good sign. The place was pretty packed, but there were a couple of booths and a table or two that were open. I was promptly and cheerfully seated (always a nice plus) and given a menu. I ordered coffee, which was on my table in record time. Odd thing... the coffee cups are noticeably small. Not demitasse small, but certainly smaller than I'm used to seeing in most places. Not a negative at all.... just odd.... As tempting as the chicken fried steak and eggs sounded, I decided to stick to a litmus test and ordered the ham and cheese omelet, hashbrowns and biscuit/gravy. That's about as standard a fare as I can think of to base a rating on, and I try to apply it pretty consistently. My order arrived very quickly, considering the crowd... probably 5-7 minutes. The biscuit was light and fluffy, with a slightly sweet taste. That is a long was of saying the biscuit freakin' rocked. The gravy was the perfect consistency and had a great flavor. The only negative was there wasn't enough of it. I say that as a boy who likes his gravy. There was enough to cover the biscuit quite well, but for some reason, most diners always use those little 1/2 cup monkey bowls, and that never seems to be enough (for me).... but that is what it is. The hashbrowns were quite crisp and cooked very well. Hashbrowns are one of those things that are hard to nail just right. You want them crispy on the outside, and soft and steamy on the inside. Very few places can properly nail that particular combination. Phil's was close. These leaned a little more to crunchy than steamy, but they were a hit either way. I usually stick to low carb meals throughout the week, and let my self go on weekends.... so any weekend breakfast, I'm serious about my hashbrowns. I only get one or two shots a week, and I try to make 'em count. These hit the mark, for sure. The omelet was very nicely done. Most diner omelets seem to either be light and fluffy, or flat and overcooked. Phil's throws down a very nicely cooked, fluffy omelet. You can tell the cook knows how to do omelets. This one had plenty of meat in it, a good amount of cheddar thrown in and on top, and it was still very light, thick and airy. Flavor was spot on, and I enjoyed every last bite of it. Service was great, especially for the time of day. Throughout most of my meal, people were waiting to be seated, so that should tell you how busy it was. I would guess the place probably seats about 50-60 people, so the waitstaff was a hoppin'. On my way out, I got two cinnamon rolls to go for the fam. These things ARE HUGE. Easily bigger than a good sized saucer, and apparently they were quite awesome tasting, according the the feedback I got from my crew. If I lived in the neighborhood, Phil's would be a breakfast spot for me on a regular basis. As it is, I have several spots close to home that are equally good, so I can't say I'll dedicate a trip back just for breakfast. But anytime I find myself in the neighborhood, I won't hesitate to stop back in. Who knows.... I might stack the deck next time so that I can get pooch patrol again..... read more

The ambiance is that of a typical old diner. Nothing fancy to the divided room with lined booths against the brick walls and scattered tables between them and breakfast bar. The waitress was attentive and spoke to me like she had known me a while. And, her service was quick. The food I ordered was Cowboy Omelette. With the perfect amount of green pepper, onion, mushroom, and cheese, nothing over powered the hash browns and sausage gravy. So very good!! The to-go box will hold half of my serving along with a big biscuit to enjoy later. This first experience will not be my last. Very good food! read more
