When a breakfast diner is named Eggcellent & Things Cafe, a part of me can't resist but to call it eggcellent. Otherwise, it would be miss opportunity on the wordplay. Located along Tulsa Route 66, this popular diner is as eggcellent as things could be. The service was the most eggcellent. There were a lot of regulars. The food was not as eggcellent as the service. Chicken and waffles were good. Chicken breast was a little thin. I've had better chicken and waffles elsewhere. Diner was bustling with a friendly atmosphere. Really good breakfast spot. (I mean, while we were eating, two huge fire trucks pulled up with hungry fire fighters from TFD. That's always a good sign when they're there to eat!) Service was good. We tried the biscuit and gravy with two over easy and the Mexican breakfast sandwich with ham, avocado, cheese, and spinach on a huge Telera roll. The hashbrown sides were cooked perfectly. We had to try the pancakes and ordered two for the table. They were huge and had just the right amount of fluff and sweetness!!! Interior was bright and clean. Coffee was unlimited and we had our own little carafe. I would definitely go again!!!! Tip: When ordering the Mexican breakfast sandwich, I would ask for a side of the chipotle mayo. Great spot for breakfast. The atmosphere is open, comfortable, and not too loud--perfect for a family-friendly outing. The food was excellent. I was heading home from work Sunday morning and had just picked up my coffee and decided that I was going to stop by the restaurant today since it's down the street from me and one of my coworkers was raving about the steak breakfast burrito. I head on in because no one is out yet at 7:00 am on a Sunday morning so I was able to order and go. I was greeted by a very friendly young lady named Sarah. I told her I wanted to order to go she handed me the menu and said I could have a seat at the table to look the menu over since it was my first time here. So many things looked delicious! I ended up with the Mexican Omelette (I love spicy and a good pork verde) I chose the house potatoes as my side and a pancake as my bread option (which I wanted some pancakes which is another reason why I stopped by). Sarah fixed me up with some different salsa options and syrup for my pancakes. She also gave me the to-go menu and options for the drive thru window that I didn't even know they had. This place was rather awesome. Go there, it was packed and for good reason,l. Everything the 4 of us tried was phenomenal. The biscuits were so flaky my friend said it was a shame to cover them with gravy. But I did and did not regret it. This location has easy access off the freeway with a large parking lot. It looks a converted taco bell - there is a setup for a drive thru but it isnt active. We were seated quickly. There is lots of natural light and an open space. Our waitress wasn't having her best day and rushed us along. I had finished eating but my friend was actively eating when she brought over our bill and a box for her food. The food was just okay, definitely no presentation but i thought the flavor was bland. I appreciated that the chorizo wasn't greasy but also not alot of flavor. The prices were reasonable. read more

This is a bit of a different Diner. It has Country Breakfast with a Mexican Flare. Not quite sure what it was originally but they did a great job converting it into a nice, cozy diner. The portions were ample and the prices reasonable. Corned Beef Hash was made fresh, definitely not the pre-prepared you get elsewhere. The cook seems to know how to make an over-medium egg, which seems to be a lost art in the area. My wife had a Benedict of some sort, she loves Benedict's, and her poached eggs were perfect. Their breakfast potatoes were good, you might ask for them crispy if you like that. Staff kept the coffee full and there was good bantering conversation with a sassy waitress that was kind enough to smile at good diner jokes. read more

Spent the night in Tulsa for a road trip, never expected to find such a gem for breakfast! Ordered 4 entrees to-go, took about 15-20 minutes, and the food was pipingggg hot when we got it. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the oatmeal, and I tried my friend's order of red chilaquiles. We were both wowed by the flavor of the chilaquiles, crispy and well-sauced and so tasty. The huevos rancheros were hearty and warm, perfect amount of salt and spice. I ate every single bite, and it was a pretty generous serving. The oatmeal was pretty good too, it came with brown sugar, butter, and dried cranberries, and I appreciated that the oatmeal itself was the perfect consistency. Overall a delicious option for non-American breakfast (though they have plenty of traditional American options as well). read more

Randomly searching breakfast spots near me and stumbled across this place.. Stopped by on a rainy Saturday morning, so the place wasn't packed.. which was perfection for me, by the way. Extremely cozy and quaint atmosphere.. definitely a hidden gem. The chicken and waffles were delicious; waffle was nice and golden-tan brown, powdered sugar added a nice touch. I loved this place!!! Staff is super friendly and helpful. It's a former Taco Bueno restaurant I think. It's clean with a nice set up. I was in the area and decided to check it out because of the great reviews. I couldn't decide between the chilaquiles or the huevos rancheros. My serve said chilaquiles is the most ordered thing she has noticed so did that and I wasn't disappointed. I got some churros to go and they were so yummy! I love that their menu is a blend of Mexican and comfort food. It's worth checking out and it's on Route 66! read more

California style huevos rancheros! Looked up on yelp Mexican breakfasts and this is what we chose. A different way of huevos rancheros. It had at least three corn tortillas. Two on the bottom then the over medium eggs then another on top of the eggs topped with the rancheros sauce. Served with sliced avocado. Plenty of food, probably could have shared it. read more

We came in on a Sunday, we get that it's busy. We waited basically an hour for our food to come out, and the food was not worth the hour wait at all. The scrambled bowls came out looking like mush, and one was even missing the hashbrowns underneath it. The mashed potatoes were very dry. Nor was the service great either, had to ask for every single little thing as in drink/coffee refills to the check that never came around to be given so we had to come up to the front. Seemed like the to-go orders in the front were being taken care and sent out quicker than in house dining table. Won't be back. read more

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast about 9:30 on a Wednesday. Let me tell you this is the best breakfast I have had in a very long time. Very clean establishment with the most friendly staff! Music volume was just right for casual conversation. Food was spot on. I got the corned beef Benedict, the very best hollandaise sauce with just a hint of spice.
