French toast, Smoked Sausage skillet
Jarod W.

The American diner and breakfast eateries are cornerstones to Oklahoma. As enjoyable as an up-scale breakfast experience can be, I often prefer to keep my brunch experience to be high in quality and low in price. Thankfully, Tulsa is still home to many straightforward, homestyle establishments such as Blue Plate Café. I had the pleasure of trying BPC for the first time on July 15th (2025) and would proudly refer anyone there based on my experience. On this day, I had a work training nearby and had skipped breakfast. After considering a few places, I am grateful that I decided on Blue Coast Café. I arrived around noon to a decently filled restaurant. The entrance puts you face to face with a host behind the counter. The space was efficiently sized and not bursting with ambiance but I found the simplicity pleasing, reminiscent of a classic straightforward diner. There are framed pictures and fixtures alongside both the bright red and pale blue walls providing guests with a sense of the countryside. Most of the seating is tables with booths along the wall. The host invited me to sit wherever so I sat almost exactly in the middle of the restaurant since about every other table was empty. My server's name was Heather, 1 of 2 waitresses at the time. She gave me a tall 5-page menu that left me very impressed. Not only are there plenty of food options (breakfast choices, lunch options and everything in between) but the physical menu itself was well designed: large pages, balanced wording, simple colors and very easy to navigate. Mostly everything on the menu seemed good (perhaps because I was hungry) but I ordered a hot tea and Smoked Sausage Skillet and swapped the B&G/Toast/pancake for french toast. There was only tea choice (Lipton, Black) that came out almost immediately. After returning from washing my hands (wishing I would've brought a book), I listened to the rustle of the restaurant and chatter of the patrons as I drank the tea waited for the meal. Coworkers, families and older married couples convened. It was comforting. The food arrived within 15mins of ordering. The skillet looked mildly appealing: scrambled eggs on top, the cheese was next, all on a bed of crumbled sausage and veggies. Though the cheese wasn't 100% melted, the plate completely filled with food. I couldn't resist! I added salt & pepper and began mashing the ingredients together. It was a delightful assortment of flavors and consistencies. The French toast wasn't mind blowing but definitely better than average. Heather made sure the syrup was hot and condiments (salsa & ketchup) were brought. 10/10 meal, hunger satisfied! As I sat, appreciative of the satiating meal, Heather came to inform me that my meal was paid for! My head swirled around the restaurant to guess who it was but Heather didn't reveal who or why. I was even more grateful that I came! I walked away in awe and returned with cash to tip Heather. So unfortunately I don't know how much the meal was but I'll say that great folks work and dine at this restaurant and I'll rave about my experience for years.

8 oz med rare side of A1 just in case, mashed potatoes with white gravy, fried okra, side salad with ranch, dinner roll with butter.

Ok, this is my second time here. Rainy day called for takeout! This place is so well priced and the food is bomb. Got the 8 oz sirloin (medium rare), it came with a side salad, 2 sides, and a roll. For my sides I chose mashed potatoes and fried okra. The place is clean, great service, and a great menu selection for options that it is actually hard to decide. 10/10 recommend this "Cafe".... They give the hometown vibe, hometown prices, but also wonderful food!!!

They are open. And I like the Blue Plate Café! Are diners making a comeback? I hope so. Although I love the stuff, the explosion of Mexican restaurants is getting out of hand. Chicken strips, and wing vendors are another invasion, too many, especially in Broken Arrow. Welcome the Blue Plate Café, which proclaims to be Broken Arrow's, elite Blue Plate Café! The cafés menu has an expansive variety of American style breakfasts and lunches. Their menu looks good. In addition to the breakfast selection the menu covers soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, classic diner entrées, and daily specials (browse the menu pictures.) And for that unimaginative boring person at the table, chicken tenders. The sandwich, soup and salad section of the menu appealed to me. I can see another visit in the future. Breakfast for me, my standard cafe breakfast challenge; two eggs sunny side up, bacon and hashbrowns (both crisp), biscuit and gravy, and coffee. The meal came to the table quickly after being ordered. It was perfect, on spec, exactly as ordered. Delicious. The coffee, an adequate café brew. The restaurant was well staffed this morning with their new employees in training. We got double friendly attention as the new servers were accompanied with their trainer. The cook was certainly not in training. The food was prepared perfectly! A big tasty breakfast with excellent service. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The furnishings appeared to be fairly new. The café is attractively decorated with, as you would expect, a café motif of pictures and signs with catchy words of wisdom. Booths and tables are available. The parking lot is roomy with easy access from Kenosha or Elm Pl. Blue Plate Café works for me...I like it!

My wife ordered the traditional breakfast with crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, and sourdough bread. I ordered the Big Boy breakfast which entailed biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, over medium eggs and crispy hash browns. My wife left stuffed as there is not a shortage of food. She said the eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was thick cut and delicious. She loved the potato seasoning and would definitely order again. The biscuit was flaky, soft and delicious. The gravy was spot on and the sausage patties were on point. I wouldn't order crispy hash browns again as they were done more than what I like, but that's on me. We will definitely be back as their menu is extensive and looks like a lot of tasty food. If you're looking for a spot on breakfast joint, start here. You won't be disappointed.

Took 1 hour to get our food, they told other tables the kitchen was slow today. The food arrived finally and it was cold. My bf got a double bacon cheeseburger, he wanted it medium, it came out well done, and it was super dry, and hard to even swallow; covered it with ketchup to soak it up and it also didn't even have any bacon on it. I ordered the egg it on platter, the ham steak was also dry and overcooked. The fruit on the side was a good selection, but some of the strawberries were rotten. The biscuit was good but the gravy didn't taste homemade it tasted like they used a packet. Would not come back- the price and waiting for the food to arrive that wasn't even good was not worth it.

Not in the mood for a burger or sandwich? There are other options such as salad and pasta, which rounds out the menu. The sides offer flexibility as well with regular fries or upgrading to something with a little extra zing such as the jalapeño cheddar tots. Drink options are also well covered from standard fountain drinks and lemonade to classic shakes or those a little boozy. I prefer this location for its ease of parking and seating; customer service also consistently knocks it out of the park.

The hostess (she didn't say her name) had the personality of a rock. If you're a business owner, you want the host/hostess to be the gleaming face of your establishment. This hostess had no smile, no energy, and no desire to be a welcoming person. Eyore has a better personality. Now, on the flip side, Bella (our server) was a rock star. She was on top of drink refills without asking, checked on us numerous times and had an excellent personality and demeanor. Again, the food was top notch, but you really need employees that serve as a host/hostess to put on their happy face and actually act like you enjoy working there. She may have been having a bad day, but that is not an excuse.

It was not, then sent back, still not how I asked for it. The owner/manager asked if it was correct, said no. She said they should deep fry it. Which is what I asked for when I ordered it. The barbako skillet was excellent. The turkey Swiss avocado sandwich was good. Overall Not sure... eggs were prepared exactly as requested, sandwich was quite good. Apparently, they can't or wont cook turkey bacon correct. The third time, when they made it the way I asked was good. Military Only the military member and only if not a special... so not really.

Our group of five former co-workers met here for lunch to catch up and share some good memories, and this spot was a huge hit. We were seated right away and greeted with a friendly smile and menus. Our waitress came over quickly to take our orders, and before long, our food arrived hot and fresh. Service was excellent from start to finish. This was my second visit -- my first time I had the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, which was an absolute winner. Highly recommend! This visit I debated between breakfast or lunch but went with the Philly Cheesesteak. While it wasn't Pat's or Tony Luke's, it was still solid -- great bun, though I wouldn't have minded a little more meat. My wife went with the Chicken Tenders, and they were a big hit -- crispy, juicy, and way more than she could finish (hello, to-go box!). Bonus points for serving Pepsi products -- double win in our book! One of my co-workers ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and I'll admit... I had a little order envy when it arrived. The rest of the table enjoyed the BLT, Chicken Fried Steak, and Cheeseburger, all of which earned rave reviews. The 50's nostalgia theme is fantastic -- from the décor to the oldies on the speakers, it's got the perfect retro vibe. This is definitely one of those places you'll want to visit more than once just to explore the menu. For me, it's a two-hour drive, but honestly, I'd make the trip again. Whether you're in OKC or Tulsa, this is one diner that won't disappoint!

Our server, Rebel, was the standout of the entire experience. She handled our large group single-handedly, keeping orders organized and service on point the whole time. Friendly, engaging, and attentive--she's exactly the kind of person you want taking care of your table. We started with Wings, Mozzarella Sticks, and a Giant Pretzel. The wings looked good but fell short in crispness and flavor. The Pretzel was solid, but the big surprise winner was the Mozzarella Sticks--definitely worth ordering! For my meal, I had the Chicken Club with a side salad. The sandwich was excellent, thanks to the perfectly toasted wheat berry bread that really made it shine. The side salad, however, was a miss. It looked fresh but lacked flavor, and I wish restaurants would serve salads on chilled plates to keep them crisp. Overall, Main Street Tavern is a solid choice for lunch or even after work on the patio. The food has its highs and lows, but with Rebel taking care of you, the experience is well worth it.
