I love Buddy's lunch and dinner menu. They have the best onion rings and ranch dressing in the Claremore/Rogers County area! They also have a really good grilled chicken salad, and it's huge!. You can get it with fried chicken, but I love the grilled chicken. It and the onion rings with ranch are my go to order. My husband orders different things and so far, he's always enjoyed his food. Not gonna lie, I and my granddaughter weren't impressed with the breakfast, but one of the reasons is because they don't serve hashbrowns, and if I'm going out for breakfast, I'm going to order crispy hashbrowns. Their reasoning is that everybody does hashbrowns. (Yeah, because everybody likes hashbrowns, lol!) The omelette I ordered was pretty unimpressive as well. My granddaughter ordered something different and I don't remember what it was, but I remember that neither one of us cared for that either. I know it had biscuits involved. The servers are all really friendly and the restaurant is clean. (I haven't used the restroom so I can't vouch for that.) I've never seen it super busy or people waiting to get seated. I do always see people there though, and there's always a few other families or couples in while we are there. In any case, we will continue to support, Buddy's Diner, and hope others will as well, because we'd hate to see that little gem go away. Solid Omelette cooked perfectly with the right amount of everything mixed in it. The hashbrown was crisp too and bottom and just the way I like it and the oerfect amount of butter cooked in too! Had a really nice time here, good food, lots of it and pretty good prices! Loved that they let you pick your sides with no upcharge, onion rings are amazing, fried mushrooms were also delish! Kids meals were good size, the chicken strips were the best we have ever had. Our only complaint from the kids was the Mac and cheese was kind of dry. Our lunch was delayed due to an oil change. Whoever was running the kitchen today was a master of the flat top and deep fryer! The traditional American cheeseburger and the classic hand made onion rings were phenomenal! When you order your cheeseburger, you only have one decision to make. Mustard or mayo. Come on let's all be adults here, please don't order it with mayonnaise. Don't screw with anything else. Order as advertised. Fortunately, Buddy's hasn't had to adulterate the classic cheeseburger to keep it on the menu. It survives on its own, in its natural state, without the gimmicks of adding avocado, egg, some type of aioli, strange cheeses and other weird things. And then comes the "Loops of Deliciousness" "Miracles of the Fryer" the onion rings. Examples of perfection! I don't know what else to say???? Damn Delicious! Good call Jeff! Good Call! Oh yeah, when we first walked in, the waitress said the fryer was down for an oil change. It would be about 30 minutes. I had seen the pictures and read the reviews, I was not leaving Claremore without a Buddy's Grill cheeseburger and rings. We drove around Claremore and returned. This review is a joy for me to write. After a long bout of subpar and mediocre eateries, I found one that satisfied my picky butt. The Son and I ventured over to C'more for lunch. It was Friday, and I wanted out of the house for a bit. Buddy's is definitely off the beaten track, but that doesn't lessen the quality of the food one bit. We both had the Chicken Fried Steak, me going with mashed potatoes and gravy with onion rings, The Son opting for double sweet potato fries. Both were outstanding. The CFS was BY FAR one of the best I've had in a long, long time. It's not overly huge, so it fills you up nicely without overdoing it. Fork tender, packed with flavor, and covered in an outstanding cream gravy. And those onion rings.... holy hula hoops Batman... I'd make the trip back just for those. In fact, I can see that happening next week, probably. Service was outstanding as well, being prompt and very friendly. Definitely planning on return trips to sample both breakfast and other dinner items. read more

We live in Tulsa, but came to Claremore for the day to check out all of the antique stores. I looked at the map prior to coming up to see where we were going to eat. We chose Buddy's Grill since it's not too far from the little downtown square. We actually walked to Buddy's Grill from the square so that we would not lose our parking spot. The walk really isn't too bad. Now, on to the food at Buddy's Grill. I should mention this was a Saturday at lunchtime. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and told to sit wherever we like. We chose a booth in the corner. The place is quite spacey and clean. The waitress was quick to come over to take our drink order. Quick to bring our drinks out and then she took our order. There are so many choices on the menu. Everything sounds good so we just had to basically point and choose. My son ordered the kids cheeseburger with fries. I ordered the Garlic Toast Swiss Burger with fries, and my husband ordered the Spicy BBQ Burger with fries. We also ordered an appetizer of Chili Cheese Tater Tots. The Chili Cheese Tater tots came out pretty quickly and they gave us enough plates so we could all share. The chili was really good and the tots were still somewhat crispy. We finished those pretty quick. Then the food came out. Let's start with the fries. They are obviously fresh fries and they are seasoned amazingly. Usually you have to pay extra for seasoned fries, but not here. My son said his cheeseburger was really tasty. They let him decide what goes on it so as to not waste anything. He got just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. He took half of it home. My Garlic Toast Swiss Burger was so good. The meat has to be fresh and not frozen. It was super juicy and so flavorful. The toast it came on was good too. My husband said his Spicy BBQ Burger was one of his top three favorite burgers so far. He ate every last bite. (Side note: We just moved to Tulsa from Las Vegas about two years ago and we have had a hard time finding good food here in Oklahoma, but we will definitely come back to Buddy's) He said the bbq sauce was really good and the meat was juicy and flavorful. Oh, and he added bacon to his. The waitress was very nice and super helpful when it came to me not being able to make up my mind deciding what I wanted to order. While paying for our meal, she also gave us three Buddy's Perk Cards where you get a free meal after 10. I think we will definitely use these. The drive from Tulsa wasn't too bad. First time here, wasn't sure what to expect. The outside is not very attractive, and well the inside isn't either. Through an open door was a partial view of the kitchen area. It appeared to be disorganized and messy, but the dining room was clean with nice tables. The wait staff were all pleasant and helpful. We decided on the catfish which was around $16.00 and came with two sides and Texas Toast. The fish was overcooked, not very flavorful, with a tasty coating. The sides were all excellent! Mac&cheese is heavenly. Coleslaw is homemade and fresh. Onion rings were cooked fresh with a great coating, and not a bit greasy. Sweet potato fries seemed like frozen, rather tasteless. Little local diner big food for a big appetite. Came on on Sunday morning. Busy but not full. Sat ourselves. Restaurant was clean and smelled good when entering. Wife had eggs and bacon with a side waffle. Couldn't eat it all. Eggs were cooked perfectly... this can be a challenge these days but they did well. I had "the heap". Eggs, sausage, home fries, gravy and grilled onions and peppers. Just the thing for a Sunday breakfast. Stuffed to the gills and was wonderful!! Grilled chicken was dry and half the size of most places, sweet potato fries were okay but the portion was way too small, cottage cheese was edible. Pulled pork was the worst I have ever eaten. It was overcooked so much so it was dried out hard 1/2-1" on the ends. It was extremely greasy and tasted like an old boar. One bite and I was done. Slaw was thick shreds that were bitter swimming in dressing-yuck. Onion rings were hand battered in flour instead of a corn meal combo and the only item on my plate that was edible. Negative:From the pictures and reviews we were excited to try the chicken fried steak. It was a huge disappointment! It looked like a frozen hamburger patty they attempted to bread. It tasted like chemicals so I only ate one bite. The gravy must have been homemade which normally would be a good thing but it also tasted like chemicals so I couldn't eat my potatoes either. I was not real hungry but looking at the menu I decided on the "heap" #scrambled sliced fried potatoes, bacon , and peppers and onions topped with gravy.
