Be sure to watch your head when you come in the back door! Brick sized, square biscuits and house made gravy; unquestionably the morning crowd's favorite in this cubbyhole of a restaurant. The thick biscuits were on every table and kept coming as new diners wedged themselves into the restaurant to find a nook or cranny that wasn't occupied. That is what my wife had with a side of crispy bacon. I went with two eggs, bacon (crap I forgot to order mine crispy,) hash browns, and the square cut biscuit and gravy on the side. On the plate: 4 or 5 thick strips of tasty limp, smoky salty bacon, hash browns fair, two eggs (farm fresh) cooked to a perfect sunny side up and the very disappointing biscuit and gravy. Although substantial portions, these square cut cake pan biscuits just don't work for me. Kudos for the scratch made gravy, but it was so flavorless that it could not be revived after several liberal applications of salt and pepper. The coffee was pale and tasteless like the gravy. The portions are generous, especially the biscuit and gravy serving. I believe that is what drives their popularity with the crowd. The dining area is clean. The service is absolutely welcoming, friendly and attentive. Excellent service! There is a large public parking lot to the East; just a few hundred feet from the front door. Even with my criticism Dot's is worth a try for several reasons. It is a memorable experience just to squeeze into the little restaurant. The service is fantastic. The menu is big! It is likely that there is something on it that will tickle your innards. A 4.5-star rating on Google confirms that other diners have found some jewels in the menu. Breakfast here just didn't dazzle me. Other: If you don't have Google maps on your phone there is a sign over the kitchen door that provides directions to the outhouse. You also get a tour of the kitchen with the trip. Watch your head on the back door. It is low. Don't ask me how I know.

We happened to be in Claremore recently, and wanted to give Dot's a go. VERY glad we did. As others have mentioned, Dot's is a hole in the wall for sure. Very small and cozy (as in you can almost sample your neighbor's plate, it's that close), it nonetheless is a neat little place to eat. The Wife got the basic pancake breakfast and had way more than she could manage. She was very happy with everything, there was just a lot of food. I had an omelet, hash browns and biscuit/gravy. The omelet was a tad undercooked, but still outstanding. Hashbrowns just like mom used to make and the biscuit was huge, soft and went perfectly with the gravy. Service was stellar, food was outstanding... what's not to like?

Tried the mocha. It was fine, but too sweet. The chocolate overpowered the coffee. The place has a nice vibe. Prices are reasonable.

Wonderful hole in the wall place. I was pretty impressed with breakfast. The white gravy is real, which is extremely rare these days. Loved the meringue on their lemon pie too. They said pies are homemade by a lady that makes them for years.

I was expecting a thin pork chop and was pleasantly surprised by this thick juicy chop. A small place that delivers on great food.

A gem to find! We were pleasantly surprised by the large portions. We will definitely come back next time we're in town.

Cute little cafe, very small with lots of decor to look at. Food was good, cheap, and people were friendly.

Decent breakfast. It's tiny and you have to go out back thru the kitchen if you want to use the restroom.

The best breakfast in Chelsea and for miles around in any direction…read more I really like this old-fashioned diner/cafe. Small cozy comfortable old building, the walls lined with historical photos and advertising. Welcoming friendly staff keep your coffee cup full and the big menu selection covers all three daily meals. Daily Specials are hand written on the white board by the counter. Grab a table by the window, relax and watch authentic rural Oklahoma life pass by on the street. Or select one of the limited stools at the counter, ponder about the weather for the day with the locals; or visit with the staff and watch Granny make delicious homemade meringue pies. As I was paying the bill, Granny walked by with a chocolate meringue headed to the pie safe (display case). It was stacked high with light fluffy whipped egg whites and then baked just long enough to give it that perfect pie suntan. The young lady at the register said the restaurant had been in business for over 30 years. It is an icon in the community. My wife and I both had the 2-egg breakfast, with bacon (came with four strips of thick smokey bacon), hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. All cooked country diner perfect. Great service. This is where you eat breakfast on 66. It may be the best for other diner style meals too. I have reliable sources that have rated the burgers here as excellent. Check out the old brick paved street on Pine St. on the N.W. side of the restaurant as you walk back to your car. Across the street viewable from our table, there is a controversial sign on the building stating that Chelsea was the location of the first oil well in Oklahoma. There are three or four other sites in Oklahoma that claim the same, as the first. An unsettled Oklahoma controversy. Quiet, friendly little town, a relaxing diner with excellent food.

They had an additional list on top of what is on the menu. I chose a flavor I've never had in pie form. The German chocolate pie and it was very tasty. I loved the pecans and coconut. What I loved the most was the flaky crust--so good! The salad is pretty standard, but it was fresh and crisp. The ranch dressing is fabulous, homemade, and made the salad delicious. The lunch portion of chicken fried chicken I received was on the large side. It was seasoned very well, and I loved the seasonings. The meat was so tender and juicy! I know I got my food just a few minutes after the it was fried. It couldn't have been more fresh. The star of my meal was the mashed red potatoes and gravy. They actually cook and mash real potatoes. It is so hard to find this when dining out. They used the perfect amount of salt. It's been a long time since I have not added salt to my meal but I didn't need to here. Oh, the little bun was homemade too and so yummy. I loved everything I ate! Can't wait to go back.
