Wonderful little hometown cafe! If you want a local, small town vibe, this is it! We had breakfast and everything we ate was delicious! The young lady serving our table was very happy and friendly. Best kept secret! Well, it was a secret to me anyway. . Had a GREAT BREAKFAST! Wonderful Golden Omelet with crispy hashbrowns and a Big Fat Golden Bisquit. So I'm giving my first review a 4 as this was my first visit however the friend says he chicken fry is a 5. I will put this on my to try list..... so they give you a crap ton of food and it is lightening fast! My first try was the cowboy and wow.. sausage was left, bacon very good, eggs were pretty solid, biscuits kicked butt, now he gravy...... could use some work but I case see where they may want middle ground on gravy. I'm a thick gravy guy and this was a bit runny.. still good! Hash brown coulda used a bit more on the grill but there were good crispy spots all around. The wait staff here is awesome and family friendly! Even for her first day her attitude was awesome! Stop on by and trust me I will be back again to try something else cause it looks pretty good! read more

Last Saturday, The Wife, The Kid and I ventured out for something to eat in advance of a day's chores and errands. Trusting to Yelp! to always steer me right, I suggested TGB as a place to try out. The last breakfast outing in Owasso left me hungry, mad, and just a little disenfranchised with the whole breakfast out thing. (Not really, but it did suck). First, you have to understand that TGB is a pretty small place. I'd estimate seating capacity at about 50 tops. It's right across from the Owasso 7th Grade football field. As we pulled in, we noticed the near absence of an empty parking spot, which we took to be a good sign. It was. Even with a packed house, it moved quickly enough and we had a maybe 10 minute wait. Once seated, we quickly scanned the menu and made our choices; the half breakfast w ham steak for The Wife, chicken fingers and fries for The Kid, and I opted for the chicken fried steak breakfast, with 2 eggs scrambled and hash browns. I don't normally do a big breakfast, but I really wanted to put them to the test, because any of those three are pretty easy to screw up. Our order arrived in what I felt to be a really short time, considering how busy they were. The Kid's chicken fingers were honest to goodness chicken tenderloins that were obviously hand breaded and cooked perfectly. I'd eat these myself, any day. The Wife's breakfast was spot on and cooked perfectly. The ham was tender, moist and full of flavor. Her hashbrowns were plentiful, slightly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. My chicken fried steak was a perfectly sized breakfast portion. Not too big, and not too small. Nicely thick with enough meat to get a good taste with each bite. The batter was nicely seasoned and not at all heavy, while still sticking to the meat. And the meat.... fork.tender. Seriously... one of the best chicken fried steaks I've had in a while. And for breakfast no less. The Wife let me have half of her biscuit and gravy, and let me tell you... I appreciated it. The biscuit was light and flaky, not at all doughy, and had a nice light flavor. The gravy was also spot on, with the right consistency and flavor. The entire meal smacked of being scratch made, even though I'm sure the hashbrowns were most likely rehydrated from dried. And that's not a negative at all. The best hashbrowns I've ever had seem to be cooked like that, so I'm all for it. As I chatted with our server about how good everything was, she mentioned that the owner and cook came from Mom's Diner up on highway 169, so I knew the benchmark they were holding themselves to. Portions were good sized and left me satisfied. Flavors were all spot on, and the service was exceptional, even during a busy morning rush. I advised the owner that they would probably get tired of seeing us, since I imagined TGB would now be our favorite breakfast destination. As it should be yours, as well. read more

The first time we went the food was fantastic. Always great service Second visit food was subpar at best. But service was still great Today's breakfast was horrible though. Omelette was burned beyond belief, and wasn't an actual omelette at all... it had been scrambled all together on the grill then folded instead of the eggs scrambled and then laid out and ingredients added and then the eggs folded (which is how an omelette is made properly) The result left a nasty, dried out excuse for an omelette. It was gross. The only thing edible on my breakfast plate were the home fries. Husbands waffle was chewy as If it were stale and had been precooked and re-warmed back up again. The kid only fussed ab the pancake said it was rubbery too. When asked at the register of the food was good my husband tried to tell them that only some of it was decent and they pretty much ignored him and told him to have a nice day. So they're definitely not worried about it. Great service though, unfortunately today is the normal servers last day... likely our last visit as well. Ya. Just don't. I knew it was a mistake when I saw it from the street. I knew it was a mistake when I parked. I knew it was a mistake walking in. I knew it was a mistake when the cashier pointed us to an open table in the middle of the very small dining room. The table was small with an amazing view of the kitchen alley and situated in the middle of everyone's travel path. Also it was excruciatingly close to the next table - thankfully the middle aged ladies that sat next to us weren't loud or perfumed. We ordered. I had two eggs, bacon, toast, fruit. My friend had something with biscuits covered in other breakfast items. Although it looked disgusting, and the toast was below average (how is bad toast made), we need to discuss the fruit and the biscuit. In 2018, when fruit is on the menu the expectation is that it is fresh fruit. If the fruit is served in a heavy or light syrup, you are serving a fruit cocktail. I can understand based on the age of the employees (and the old guy rolling silver at the front door) that fruit and fruit cocktail were the same at one point back in the day, but today it's just laughable and irritating. The biscuit was frozen not fresh. SMH. To be named the Golden Biscuit and not use homemade biscuits is simply bad restauranting. Did we mention the room was small and cramped. it was loud. We couldn't wait to leave. There are so many good and really good breakfast places in the Tulsa area i personally feel sorry for the patrons who think this is a great spot. If you are considering breakfast, even a Village Inn is WAY better. Go anywhere else. read more
