Food is always good at Jake's. We had breakfasts but I did not take photos because I was too hungry and forgot. The service was excellent with Zena and Destiny waiting on us. We enjoyed chatting with both of them. The ambience is good old mom-n-pop diner and pretty quiet in the middle of a Monday morning. There was some construction noise at the end of our meal when we were done eating. But this is not common. Other diners have more variety in the menu, hipper atmosphere, but we love Jake's. We've been coming here since we moved to Tulsa in 2008. read more

Many new diner/cafes have opened in Broken Arrow over the last several years. The well-established favorites get overlooked as everyone rushes to the new eateries for a few weeks. Meanwhile the old favorites keep on cranking out delicious food to their loyal customers. Eventually the new gets old, customers sort things out and the strong performers survive. Jake's Café is still strong, holding the line since 1999. The food is good; as good as any diner/café that I have tried in Broken Arrow. Better than several. Conveniently located on the NW corner of Aspen and Houston St. The restaurant is on the south end of a row of brick red roofed business suites. Easy to spot. Adequate parking. Inside the restaurant promotes a 50's theme. Pictures of movie stars relevant to the time cover the walls. Marylin Monroe dominates the space. True diner ambiance. Seat yourself. Menus are delivered in minutes. Decide on your favorite breakfast while the friendly waitress fetches a drink of your choice. The usual for me. An all-American breakfast combination meal I use to evaluate the cook's skill. Cooked perfectly along with great service earns 5 stars. Perfection delivered today at Jake's, 5 stars! My wife spotted a new item on the menu board, "Banana and Pecan Pancakes!" One big one for her that smothered the plate. Thick fluffy, loaded with bananas and pecans and with a side of bacon. A tasty and filling breakfast at Jake's was the perfect way to start a Saturday. I can never pass up fried okra and Jake's does it right. The omelette was huge and had lots of flavor. Went in. Got seated right away. Ten minutes was thinking about leaving. Waitress came over. I ordered breakfast and coffee. Someone else brought coffee. Drank coffee, someone else refilled two separate times. Waited 25 minutes for food. Waitress came by twice and checked on her two other tables. Never checked on me. Food was still not there. Finally left. Thought "ehh I may give them a chance". So called. Hostess answered and put me on with someone who doesn't speak English. Two minutes of asking for manager she puts hostess back on. I asked her,again, to speak to manager. She said he is busy, call back at two. Won't go back. I was never rude but if they can't even bother to put manager on to talk to for a second, it's a no go for me. read more

Very disappointed in this place, I have been going here for nearly 20 years, primarily Sunday breakfast with the kids. Went there for lunch and they added additional tip on my company card. So if you leave cash, they will add more on the card, you can not trust these people. We will never be back and we will tell everyone we know to stay away from this dishonest restaurant. ***NOT SERVICE DOG FRIENDLY!!*** We have been here about six times. The second, fourth, and last times we have been asked about NY husband's service dog. The first, and second times were friendly enough. Basically asking if the dog was "really a service dog". Today was a different story. Today, while my husband and his service dog were in the restroom, waitress #1 put her hands on her knees, bent over to be nose to nose with me, (Not far from my face), and literally stared into my eyes. She asked me if the dog has a certificate. I said yes, not breaking eye contact. Then she stayed like that for a beat not breaking eye contact, and then said, "We were told by the health department that if the person isn't blind, deaf, or in a wheelchair then it's not a service dog." I told her that that that was false, and they have been miss informed. BUT if they wanted to lose our business that was fine we could go somewhere else. Her reply was to finally break eye contact and standup straight and out of my face and said, "No! Please don't leave. We have just been reported to the health department because of people allowing their service dogs to eat off the table, and dogs biting at customers." I told here that there are people that give true service dogs a bad name, but that we had been there several times and he had never been a problem. She then said, "Well they are only service dogs if the person is blind deaf, or in a wheelchair." I once again told her that was an untrue statement. A few minutes later, waitress #2 came to give us our menus, and my husband asked her if she could please wipe down the table as it had water from the previous customers. She she took the menus away from us, turned around and gave them to two people who had just sat down, asked them what they wanted to drink, and walked away. She then passed our table four times before returning with the other customers drinks, and a towel to wipe our table. As she was wiping she said, "If you had just stood in the entry the busboy would have known to come clean this table." Which makes no sense. You want your customers to just stand in the middle of the entry to get their table wiped down? I said, "I didn't know. Sorry." She took our order, got us our food, and our check at the same time. I paid our bill. Almost didn't tip, but wanted to give credit for service so I gave a $2 tip, and a ADA Service dog information card. They have lost our business. I should not be harassed, and treated in such a condescending way by waitresses when just trying to get lunch. We spent a lot of time a money getting our dog trained. I will be following up with the health department to make sure they are not spreading false information. Not to mention that asking about a person's disability is a FEDERAL CRIME! No, she did not come straight out and ask, but she sure did come close. read more

We randomly stopped in here because the restaurant we had planned on going to was closed! The place has a very charming home town feel to it. You can tell that a lot of the customers are people who come there a lot! Many of the waitresses knew the patrons by their first names. I ordered the biscuit and gravy and pancakes. My husband ordered an omelet and hashbrowns, and we ordered our one year old pancakes and eggs! Everything came out hot and just the way we ordered! The food is pretty average! Nothing wrong with it but nothing outstanding. It's what you'd expect for a diner! The serving sizes are large and it's all very fairly priced! We would definitely come back here! Nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also have good coffee which is important. I chose the western omelet and pancakes. It was filled with onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, and ham. The veggies were fresh and crisp, as were the hashbrowns. (Sorry about the "I love you" in ketchup- I was flirting with my husband.) The pancakes were pretty standard, good but nothing spectacular about them. My husband got the sausage and eggs. I'm not sure what kind of sausage they use but it had a beautiful Smoky flavor and I would back again just for those. All around solid diner. I would definitely go back. Service was wonderful. The service is amazing with many friendly waitresses and staff, who are understandably short staffed! The omelettes are a personal favorite due to the huge portion that it surmounts to be, which come served with hash-browns. I had breakfast here on Christmas Eve with an old work buddy. It was great to get a chance to sit and chat and catch up. The main reason that we got to do that is that the staff was way short handed and forgot about us quite a bit! The meal wasn't too bad but a little more pricy than I expected for the small portions. I will admit that the breakfast hit the spot for me. The staff was very friendly but as I previously mentioned, didn't have the help they needed. At one point the waitress grabbed my friends tea and never brought it back! They never found that poor tea. Some poor soul probably got it instead of a fresh one. Jakes needs to consider reviewing there scheduling practices but otherwise isn't a bad spot to stop in. It's always nice to support local businesses. read more

Well one of my first places eating here in Broken Arrow was breakfast at jakes cafe, my partner brought me here while touring me through Tulsa and the BA area. They have great customer service, always busy though but excellent food. The tables are filled with neat little facts and fun puzzle and all kinds of stuff. The cafe area is nice and cosy. The people are very nice and helpful. There are many great food items to get here on the menu, the omelets are amazing, very filling and the biscuits and gravy are just like my mommas cooking. Not good. I ordered over medium eggs and crispy hashbrowns. I recieved hard cooked eggs and hashbrowns that were almost raw. When they were called to our table by another diner for the raw pancakes I informed him his cook either can't read or was a lousy cook. Then they try to get you the order you ordered.
