Ruby's is one of my favorite burger spots! It has that real old-school feel with the countertop and seats that make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Everyone is always so nice when I go there, and I love that you can see the cooks back there preparing your food. And definitely try one of their shakes,they are SO good! We opted for a to-go order today, but man, is this not one of the best burgers in town?! One tip: if you like your French fries well done like I do, I would recommend going with golden instead. I ordered mine crispy, and they were a little too dry for my liking. But overall, I absolutely love this place and will definitely be back! read more

We have eaten at Ruby's many times and it's always good. Today we got chicken sandwiches that were not good at all. My husband has been advised by his doctor to stop eating red meat. We decided to check out the chicken sandwiches. They cost $3 more than hamburgers and they weren't good at all. The chicken was sliced thin and it was dry. The fries are usually quite good, but they were very stale today. Had we not had good experiences here, this would be a 1 star review. The food is fantastic. Great burgers and my favorite are the super thick onion rings. Fun atmosphere and fast service. They also have homemade pies. The only reason I didn't give Ruby's five stars was our server. Nice girl but rather scatterbrained. She brought us someone else's orders twice. We also ordered a slice of pie to take home. I ordered cherry and my friend ordered strawberry peach. When we got home and settled down to watch tv and enjoy our pie, instead of strawberry-peach, my friend got butterscotch. I stopped in here once a few years back, when it was Brownies. The Burgers were tiny and rather expensive for what you got. This visit was very different. First, the staff is INCREDIBLE, they all seem extremely happy and the service was better than many sit-down Restaurants. The Burgers were perfect, I would rank them among the best in the NorthEast OKlahoma region. Our food was delivered by one of the cooks, he seemed very comfortable in that role, was professional and friendly. The place is small but very clean, our table, and seats were clean, I did not see one messy thing about this place. The waitress was as good as any I have experienced. Again, friendly, polite, accommodating and all smiles. Not just with us but with all of her tables. This young woman was amazing. For us, seeing happy people working within a restaurant is a very good sign of a great business. My wife and I went for Dinner but, brought home pie for everyone and nobody was disappointed. We will be back, Ruby's will become one of our regular dining spots. If you have the chance, stomp in and experience what a Burger Joint can be when the culture is Top Notch! read more

This was a choice made by my team to have lunch! I'm a sucker for Root Beer and theirs was really good! Good eat to start out! The appetizers were split the Haystack Basket was by far the favorite choice. The Loaded Fries need some work. Just to be honest they were not visually appealing. Although my group ate most of it there was still plenty left over. I'm sure on we'll pass them on our next visit. The burgers were good, almost everyone got a double patty and if you decide I will admit you better have an appetite. I got a Single Patty with everything on it + pepper-jack cheese. I got the 1/2 order of onion rings as my side - I would pass on the onion rings they were not my favorite. It's almost as if I would prefer the Haystack Onion Rings as the side. I was in the mood for a simple traditional hamburger. After a quick search, Ruby's Old Fashioned Hamburgers looked like a perfect match. I couldn't have been more wrong. The Ruby's signature burger was anything but old fashioned. There was a tall stack of fried onion rings between the buns. Now I don't mind the crazy glitz and glamor, especially the crazy presentations of food, but they have to be practical. With the presentation of the Ruby's signature burger, I had to remove the fried onion rings to make the burger remotely old fashioned. Unfortunately, the burger was average at best. No lettuce or tomatoes, just meat and fried pickles and onion rings. The service was fantastic though. The older server was so nice. I did also like the restaurant, friendly vibe. We met up with three friends here for lunch today after telling them how great this place is, well at least it used to be. First off today we had to wait and wait and wait for the waiter to come and take our orders. There were very few customers when we arrived at 11:00 am, but then a large group came in and they took their orders before us as they did another table that had arrived after us!! Then to top it all off, it took forever to get our food and my French fries with my burger never came even after they saying they were working on them and they'd be right out!! Then one of our friends asked the waiter for a to-go box to which he replied "we're pretty busy". No I 'm sorry for anything or nothing. Basically, sorry or no service at all today!! You've managed in one day's time to go from 5 stars in our book to one star and you didn't deserve that one. This is how small businesses go out of business. However, the beef lacked flavor and required additional salt and pepper. An older young woman working their was very engages in conversation, retrieves beverages, and checks on customers. She provides excellent service. My primary server, however, did not meet expectations; I had to request a beverage refill, which took a few minutes to arrive. The server asked if I wished to order dessert but did not make an effort to upsell. Later, the same woman returned and discussed a peach pie made by her granddaughter, attempting to promote it. Unfortunately, they were out of peach pie, so I opted for a coconut cream pie, which was average. First time at Ruby's and we were instantly impressed! We were greeted and seated right away, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. While waiting for our food, we even got to meet some of the family who own and work at Ruby's. "Grammy" was the absolute sweetest--she checked in on us, kept our drinks full, and made us feel right at home. The portions were huge, and everything is made fresh to order. We tried the onion ring tower, cheeseburgers, tater tots, and the smoked jalapeño burger--which came with way more food than I expected, including fried green tomatoes and a whole smoked jalapeño sausage! And the shakes? Absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the Little Debbie shake--it's a must-try. This local gem is definitely worth a visit. Whilst in Tulsa this last Friday, The Boy and I decided to grab a burger and Ruby's was the closest place we had not yet been to. Seating was immediate and the staff more than friendly. Menus were traded for drink orders, and we set about trying to decide. We both went basic on this trip. The Boy doing a single bacon cheeseburger with 1/2 order of sweet potato fries, while I upped it to a double bacon cheeseburger with American Cheese, please... and a 1/2 order of haystack onion rings. Food arrived quickly enough, so we set to. The burger was incredibly well made. The meat cooked with a great crust, and the ingredients stacked respectably high. Even squashing it down, something I don't usually do, I was hard pressed to be my jaws around it. The onion rings were good, but maybe a little overcooked. The Boy's sweet potato fries.... wowzers they were good. He got the cinnamon and sugar sprinkle, and it took them right over the top. Firstly, the service is probably the best part, closely followed by the fried chicken, the sweet tea, and, last but not least, the root beer. The scenery is great, it feels like a family owned restaurant, as opposed to most of the soulless chains in tulsa (looking at you, Applebee's.) My only real complaint is the pricing for some of the stuff they serve, namely the root beer and the burgers. $5.00 for root beer is INSANE. And $14-16 for a burger is also insane. The "Ruby's Signature Burger" had one flavor: rancid, old fried onions. And that came from the same rancid tasting fried onions that I regrettably ordered a full side of. The overcooked raunchy black onions had the taste of spoilage from age. No sweet fresh onion flavor here. Credit to Brownie's, their fried onions were better. Ruby's service is fair. Tried this place with my Aunt she was wanting a good old fashion hamburger. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness of this place. I ordered just a classic cheese burger. My Aunt ordered the classic cheese burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was really good and not too greasy.
