I'm on a huge hamburger kick. Looking for mom n pop places. Having been to Tulsa a few times yrs ago, I checked Yelp and DDD and both had Hanks listed. And bing in town on business, I had to go. I went the single meat w/ chz and. Risky FFs. Hanks did not disappoint. Good ol' fashioned juicy chz burger. One where the meat juices mix with the mayo and chz and oh so good. Very filling. And the FFs so crispy. Yo won't be disappointed. Tip: for the best burger deal, get Hank's 1/2 lb special. Way cheaper than buying single patty burger, FFs and drink separate. It's a dbl meat. read more

Talk about a "dive" hamburger joint. That's exactly what I love about it. This place reminds me of Squeeze Inn in Sacramento, but a little bit bigger. The menu is straight forward, straight out of the 60's style, and the place was poppin' at 2:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the Hank's special with cheese and pickles and onions as my only produce. I also ordered tots. I found out later that I could've got them "loaded", which entails tots being smothered in chili and cheese. Next time for sure. My wife had the single with fries. The fries came out piping hot and for simple fries, they were crisp and tasty. My wife's only complaint is the lettuce was wilty, and that is she doesn't like the onions grilled into the burger. That's not a knock on Hank's, just her preference. Me, I love grilled onions on and in my burger. The burger bun was soft and melded with the burger and cheese into a burger nirvana. I look forward to trying their chili cheese tots next time and their milkshakes looked very tasty. We'll be back for sure. read more

They are the best in Tulsa but not like most places in Cali ... They got the Mexican chefs they don't know how too make a aioli ? Your store would be like in n out just make aioli instead of majo and make ur own sauce ... No top burger place just uses mustard besides crystals which is fast food ... Not hard too make 3 homemade sauces in prep read more

Food is bomb, we are from Orange County California and this comes close to in n out, but the onions are better here

Cool old-timey vibe. Probably hasn't changed much since 1949. Just did not live up to the hype of "Best Burger in Tulsa." read more

What a nostalgic place. On the original Route 66. Room for 14 to sit inside. Limited parking. Old fashioned burger joint. Plus have other types of sandwiches. But with the name of Hanks Hamburgers got to have that. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Service is good. Homemade shakes not the machine types. Fresh patties for burgers. Cooked to order. Could take some time but worth it. All burgers come with mustard, pickles, fried onions, raw onions, lettuce and tomato. It melts in your mouth. Was here at 5:30 pm and it was steady customers on a Friday night. read more

If you're looking for fancy décor, keep driving. But if you're after a burger that makes you close your eyes after the first bite and whisper "Wow"--this is your place. The burgers are juicy, perfectly seasoned, and stacked like they mean business. The Big Okie is a local legend for a reason, and every bite proves why this spot has been a Tulsa favorite since 1949. The fries are golden and crispy, the onion rings are out of this world, and the staff treats you like family. It's old-school hospitality mixed with the kind of flavor that fast-food chains only dream about. Hank's isn't just serving burgers--it's serving memories. You can taste the decades of tradition, pride, and care in every bite. If you're anywhere near Tulsa and don't stop at Hank's, you're missing one of Oklahoma's greatest treasures. read more

Extremely rude workers. Called about the product they use was hung up on twice when ask if it was grass fed beef.

This place is amazing! No frills, the tastiest burger I've eaten in Tulsa to date. Smash burgers beforethat was a thing since 1949. The burger was incredible tasty perfect char and onions. The fries were good. But for a burger You can't beat the price and it's an old cool place to go and get into a food coma. read more

I'm in Tulsa visiting from Texas, couldn't wait to dine at Hanks, as I grew up eating there while living in Tulsa. I arrived at 6:30P, the lobby was open the wait person says she meant to lock the door and that I needed to place a to.go.order, even though there was plenty of time for me to eat by 7pm when they close. Not my problem that she forgot to lock the.lobby, if it's open, customers should be allowed to dine in. There were 4 other people seated, they received their food at the same time I received mine. She sat my food on the counter and then walked to door as to say now get out. It's the suttle racism that people like her think we dont notice and perhaps they don't realize they are being racist. So I sat in my car and ate my food, meanwhile, the four people in the lobby finished their food and she escorted them out and locked the door, it was about 7 minutes till, so she was more concerned about getting off than serving customers. Next,a couple more cars drove up and they were not let in, even to place a to.go order. She seemed like a manager, as she supervised the other 2 people. She should have demonstrated more self awareness than she did. What do you think the other two employees will do in a similar situation. Honestly, the food was as good as ever, the service was horrible and selfish, not the warm friendly, down home Hanks I remembered from high school. Things do change,in this case not for the better. Not sure I'll ever visit Hanks again. read more

Ordered ahead as we were passing through Tulsa for a late lunch on our way to Missouri and glad we picked this place. Affordable, quick, and very tasty! We both got bacon cheeseburgers as well as onion rings to share and it filled us up! The lady who took my order wasn't necessarily super friendly or anything, but I'll ignore her lack of friendliness considering everything else. read more

Hank's Hamburgers has been a Tulsa landmark since 1949. Hank's serves burgers with onions grilled directly to the meat. Claimed to be Tulsa's best burgers and malts. At least part of this claim is false. Hank's has not been serving malts for some times now since the malt machine broke which would cost $20,000 to replace. Hank's special burger is good. Is it the best burger in Tulsa? It depends on your preference. If you're talking old fashioned burger, then probably but if you're talking burger in general, then probably not. I think there are too many restaurants now that could give Hank's some serious competition. I do like the grilled onions on the burgers but I really need more. Hank's burgers are very "meaty" in general and the burgers are quite large. They really need to double bag the fried okra because the oil will soak through one bag or let it dry first before putting in the bag. Hank's is really affordable though. A combination meal which comes with a burger, drink, and side would run around $12-$13. You can't really beat that. read more

Here's another old place in Tulsa, been around since 1949 or so. Now, this place can look a little sketchy on the outside; but on the inside, it's really kinda cute and very clean. The coney dog: This coney was a pretty good coney dog. The chili was very good tasting...and I'd eat a bowl of that; just as a chili. The hot dog; a beef hotdog; sure reminded me a Hebrew National hot dog. The burger: the bun was toasted and the way the burger was dressed, were the upsides to the burger. The burger is cooked on a flattop. And though the beef has an ok beef flavor. The burger itself is such a dry texture. And the tightness of the burger patty, has the pre-made, compact, super dense chew, that is far less than ideal. The fries were nothing special. And the okra was certainly cooked a bunch....But, put a little salt on the okra, there's something about it (that was very good). read more

Hanks is so so good! Definitely my favorite burger place in Tulsa! I've only ever ordered on door dash and every time my food comes fresh and hot and I don't live close to Hanks at all. I order the Special (no raw onion for me + heavy mayo) and fries every time! The Hanks Special my mom said it's very good also but I didn't try it. The fries are thick and they have a tiny bit of seasoning on them. I really just don't think you can go wrong with anything from here. Just order your burger how you like it and enjoy! Good quality! Very delicious! read more

We came here for a quick lunch. I hadn't been here before and have been wanting to try them out. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. The food was delicious, we got our food fast also depending on the crowd they were serving. There's not a big place to sit inside unless you get there when they're not as busy. Overall I enjoy Hank's Hamburger's and look forward to visiting again. read more

There is no other way to describe the food here other than "if you have a burger here, it will probably be the best you ever have for the rest of your life." This has been a Tulsa institution since the late '40s/early '50s and they use the ORIGINAL griddle. That griddle is magically seasoned with decades of flavor. The space is cramped, but the service is excellent and the food makes you forget yourself for a while. You forget yourself, your troubles, all of it. Probably the best burger I have ever had, and definitely the best fried okra ever. All cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Amazing portions, especially considering the old school pricing. If you get a chance to come here, run here. read more

I was expecting so much more. The burger was fair, fries were below average. The coney was good and the chilli made it so but a slice of cold American cheese just didn't work. The tables were all dirty when I got there but I cleaned it myself. I really wanted an old fashioned fried onion burger with toasted bun and just a little grease dripping when you take a bite. Hanks just didn't check the boxes and was a little pricy. read more
