Probably 3.5 stars. The food was hot and fresh, but it wasn't anything special. The meat was seasoned better than a fast food burger, but that is what it reminded me of. I finally stopped in to try Arnold's old-fashioned hamburgers several days ago. This was my first visit to them. They have both a restaurant to sit down and eat in, and a drive through about 50 yards west of there. I used the drive through on this occasion because I was in a hurry. I ordered the single patty hamburger with bacon on it. I also had a small order of fries. The food was delicious! The burger was made exactly how I like it. Bun, lettuce, tomato, mustard, patty, and I added bacon to it. The drive through moved quickly and the staff was very friendly. Happy accident! We were headed to Branson from OKC when Arnold's popped up as a possible lunch stop. It was SO good and even tho it was prime mid day lunch time and the line was very long. Swung by Arnold's as I started a road trip to western Oklahoma. It's still the best place I've found along I244 heading west out of town. This time I had a single meat burger. The meat was good. The veggies fresh. They make a burger you can enjoy without the condiments. Always have to splurge with a shake. This time a strawberry banana. It's smooth and tasty. I like this place. It's a self service hamburger restaurant. You can't get a burger cheaper at a fast food restaurant and these burgers are prepared after you order. I loved the thick slices of onion and tomatoes and the generous portion of lettuce. It was delicious. Fresh off the grill and still warm. The ladies taking the orders looked happy to be there. They greeted customers with big smiles. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is casual and restaurant is decorated with framed pictures of classic scenes and celebrities such as Elvis. They also used collections of lunch boxes and model cars to decorate. Just got home from Arnolds. Opened up my Jr burger only to see there was NO beef patty. Went right back and was given a replacement that looked like it was made hours ago After going to this burger joint for over 30 years, they just lost a customer. I'm really sorry their customer service has dropped to this point. Overhyped. Stopped by on the way to Springfield after seeing a ton of billboard signs on the highway. I thought the historic setting on Tulsa Route 66 was cool, and inside the small restaurant, the Elvis music and old memorabilia were great. But that was the most average food I've eaten in a while. The onion rings were bready and the double cheeseburger was heavy and slightly nausea inducing. The root beer in a mug is just your average A&W in a pre-frozen mug. The menu is simple and straightforward, no frills, and absolutely delicious! I almost always get the fantastic Double with double cheese. The fries are good (not great) but the onion rings are super tasty. Lunchtime can get rather busy, but the line moves quick (if you don't have time to sit for lunch, use the drive thru in the same parking lot). The decor is classic, but pretty dated (it could use a simple refresh), but that won't stop the locals from piling in while they're open! Highly recommended, amazing burgers! read more

After Claud's sadly shut down, we've been on the hunt for Tulsa's next best Okie style burger. After visiting Arnold's for Grant's birthday, we think we might have found it! To be fair, Grant had already gone and held this opinion, but for me, it was incredibly affirming to get a delicious double patty burger with fried onions as well as tasty, salty, thin cut fries. I was torn between strawberry and Oreo and the man helping me suggested mixing the two! It was the best decision I could've made. I've had them mixed at a fast food establishment before and was not a fan but THIS SHAKE was AMAZING! If you love both flavors I'd definitely try the combination of the two. My friend got an Oreo shake and wished they would've gotten the same one that I did. We got a small and as you see it's huge. Having never been there before, we started walking up to the building that actually turned out to be just the drive through. We ran into Frank Arnold, the founder, who kindly pointed us to the main restaurant, a block down in the strip center, next to the Autozone. I was truly pleased with the service and the food.
