This was the neatest burger joint! I now understand how you become part of their family... they take down your name when you place your order, and they remember it while you're there. We sat at the bar and both of the girls working that day visited with us. They are very sweet! The char burger was amazing ! The cook came out to ask if we wanted our burgers cut in half. Nice touch!! The house cut fries were as good as described in other reviews. We will definitely eat there again when in Tulsa!

Single char burger with cheese fries

These guys are the best burgers and fries in Tulsa!! Also, hand dipped shakes or malts. I always have to stop by when I am in town! Oh yeah, don't forget the cheese fries

This place was hopping at 2PM on a Saturday, and I can see why! The burgers are delicious, the shake menu has a crazy long list of options, and the sides are good. While eating there, a couple different people came in, and the staff knew them by name. It's load and fast paced. Tammy (I think that's what I heard someone call her) was killing it running the place. She was friendly and generous and thoughtful. There's seating at the counter, and a few small tables, plus some outdoor picnic tables.

From the Tulsa Fair to Route 66, Freddie's has you covered with the best food and service in town.

Char burger and fries!

I'm gonna give this place a 4/5 and I'll tell you why! The service was amazing and it really felt like an authentic ma and pa restaurant. I don't know the history behind this place, but I'll be back to learn... because they're ingredients are great, they cook everything fresh right in front of you, and their prices are really nice if you're wanting good food for cheap, but don't wanna get fast food. This felt like fast food but better! They've got a drive thru too! The only thing I didn't like was the cooks effort could've gone a little further. The burger I ordered was a char burger, it wasn't charred. It was also supposed to be medium but it was well, and the fries were fresh and tasty but I had to put salt on them because there was none. But I empathize with them because it was the end of the day where they're probably counting down the minutes to go home.

Maybe it is because I don't eat a lot of red meat that I tend to fall in love with good burgers very easily. I left this place today thinking that this might be a Top 10 burger. This place has been around since the 1950s, and is located on historic Route 66. It has retained a very old-school feel, and both the food and customer service take you back in time. We came here in a group of 6 today and were lucky enough to find seating all together. Most of the seating is around the counter, so you can take in the full experience of watching the cooks work their magic while engaging in small talk with the friendly ladies who work here. The Double Deluxe is a formidable burger. It is hard to hold and hard to take your time with. I was impressed with the freshness and color of the components - crips green lettuce, snappy pickles, ample grilled jalapeños, and tender onions cooked right into the meat. The burger is juicy, and will have you going through the napkins. It is served up with a smile and with the sort of pride that makes you want to keep coming back. There were plenty of regulars here, so maybe that says something?

I have eaten burgers on both ends of route 66 in Oklahoma, from Waylan's Ku Ku Burger in Miami, to the Tumbleweed Grill and Country Store in Texola and many genuine burger dives scattered in between, on the "Historic Mother Road." For the stretch of Route 66 through Tulsa; I think Tulsa is blessed with the best.....And among them Freddie's Hamburgers! Freddie's Hamburgers has been in business since 1954. It is currently tucked away on the south side of 11th St. just west of Mingo. It is a little hard to spot. Look for a white metal building trimmed in red. This little family-owned restaurant is definitely the friendliest burger dive in Tulsa. When you give your name for your order, you become part of the family. Everyone from the fantastic cooks to the energetic, attentive servers work to make this clean little dive an enjoyable experience. Freddie's has something I have not seen on any other Mom and Pop burger dive's menus in Tulsa; a true Char Burger cooked over an open flame! That is what got me in the door. Get comfortable sit back and enjoy the aroma of that rich one third pound burger searing on the open flame, cooked to order. You can almost taste it as it cooks, and then it arrives at your table dressed for the occasion. Fully loaded with the proper condiments. It is delicious. Freddie's also may have the best fresh cut fries in Tulsa. They have been slicing and frying spuds long enough to understand the science and have perfected the art. I'm not sure what their secret is, but I suspect the oil is properly heated to near its auto ignition temperature, before the taters are allowed to take the plunge. The flash fried potato sticks come to the table screaming hot from the fryer. Fresh, moist on the inside and flawless crispness on the outside. You won't leave any behind. Freddie's menu also has you covered with Shakes and Malts in flavors you have never thought of......

We looked on Yelp for best burger places in town. We read the reviews and discovered that Freddie's was a hidden gem. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They all work very well together. A well oiled machine. The fries are hand cut in house and the burger was huge. Very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend this place. It is small, but very worth it.

Oklahoma seems to have a certain pride when it comes to burger joints that keep it simple. Tulsa…read morehas many chains, local restaurants and pop-ups that are familiar and filling. Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.

And bing in town on business, I had to go. I went the single meat w/ chz and. Risky FFs. Hanks did not disappoint. Good ol' fashioned juicy chz burger. One where the meat juices mix with the mayo and chz and oh so good. Very filling. And the FFs so crispy. Yo won't be disappointed. Tip: for the best burger deal, get Hank's 1/2 lb special. Way cheaper than buying single patty burger, FFs and drink separate. It's a dbl meat.

The menu is straight forward, straight out of the 60's style, and the place was poppin' at 2:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the Hank's special with cheese and pickles and onions as my only produce. I also ordered tots. I found out later that I could've got them "loaded", which entails tots being smothered in chili and cheese. Next time for sure. My wife had the single with fries. The fries came out piping hot and for simple fries, they were crisp and tasty. My wife's only complaint is the lettuce was wilty, and that is she doesn't like the onions grilled into the burger. That's not a knock on Hank's, just her preference. Me, I love grilled onions on and in my burger. The burger bun was soft and melded with the burger and cheese into a burger nirvana. I look forward to trying their chili cheese tots next time and their milkshakes looked very tasty. We'll be back for sure.

It takes a LOT of reading before you can figure out what you want. I understand wanting to highlight farms that the beef is sourced from, but it shouldn't be the most prominent thing in the menu. It's super confusing. Last, the truffle fries need reworked badly. I got fries with some truffle-esque condiment squeezed randomly on top. Fries needed to be tossed in the sauce while hot, so it was a soggy mess. 1/5, wouldn't recommend those.
