We made reservations over the phone and the staff was very helpful setting everything up. Once we got there at our reservation time our table was plated and ready to go immediately. Our waitress Dakota brought out water for us shortly after sitting down and gave us a quick summary of their seasonal menu items and a few drink suggestions. We started with a relish board and both of their seasonal lemonades. The relish board was good and had some very unique items like pickled berries that were tasty and had notes of cinnamon. The mushrooms were fresh and the meat options were also good. The relish board also came with fry bread and 2 dips which really stole the show! The fry bread and dips were incredible! I ordered the coffee crusted bison that was cooked perfectly and very tender. The white bean puree tasted just like mashed potatoes but with so much more flavor. Everything was seasoned perfectly but i felt the squash could have been cooked a little bit longer as they were a bit tough. The filet we ordered medium well came out medium rare but tasted good. Overall, our waitress Dakota was very accommodating, answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. This location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The location is small with about 10-12 tables. We made a reservation as we were a party of 7, I don't think reservations were needed. The service was lovely and attentive. We tried a variety of items, the fry bread with different sauces loved all 3 of them. I can't pick which is better the white bean hummus, the honey or the raspberry, so yummy. The duck deviled eggs were excellent and creamy. I really enjoyed my trout and the black rice. A gustatory adventure. This is an entirely new dining encounter for me, and a challenge. My expertise is in writing subjective assessments of grungy little Mexican restaurants, where the health inspector has visited the restaurant more times than their customers. I also frequent monotonous diners with their greasy menus pages of fried everything, common burgers and frozen crinkle cut fries. I don't shy away from sketchy little ethnic eateries in questionable parts of town knowing full well that I may only be one bite away from food poisoning. At all of these restaurants, dining experiences and the food are all very easy to describe. Challenged with describing the food at Nātv not only pushes me out of my comfort zone, it is far above my skill level. I realized I would have to formulate coherent full sentences using words like alluring, exquisite, luscious, scrumptious, succulent, enchanting and divine. Then some how work in delectable and marvelous. It is not going to happen. I don't know what some of those words mean. I have seen them used in reviews of fancy restaurants that were written by renowned food critics. I do think that those words would fit nicely in describing the food at Nātv. The food is all that, every bit of that. There are quite a few uncommon menu items. Most well described, some foreign to me, especially the sauces. Opportunities for dining exploration. I know what the hell a bison is though. I eat bison! My wife knows what fry bread is. We'll start there. To save you some time I am going to suggest four items that wowed us, two appetizers and two entrées. This is a good place to start if you have never dined at Nātv. If you are afflicted with veganism, you'll have to figure it out for yourself. Appetizer 1, Fry Bread & Dipping Sauces, for the dipping sauces these are mandatory: romesco, wajapi and hummus. Appetizer 2, Bison Sliders with Corn Mush Fritters. Next the Entrées. Entrée 1, Shredded Bison Tacos. Entrée 2, Bison Payha. Bison Payha, do not pass up Bison Payha. Check the pictures, check the menu. These meals and appetizers are surprising and deliver on flavor. Enjoy! Friendly accommodating service. Simple décor, walls covered with scientific style botanical illustrations of native species. Traveling in Eastern Oklahoma, Native food seemed like the thing to have, and this didn't disappoint. (Well, they were out of bison and turkey, which was disappointing, but I can't ding them for that.) The "bowl" was excellent--wild rice cooked perfectly, vegetables were fresh, and chimichurri added the needed seasoning. I just wish I had reserved a bit more chimichurri to eat more of as I got further down in the bowl. I also had a side of blue corn mush, which I've had a few times in Arizona: this was a good rendition, with a deep savory flavor and not too gummy of a texture. We walked in on a Friday night and was told we needed reservations so we made one for Saturday night. This was a small place with very unique food. I got the wild rice bowl and I don't think I've ever eaten wild rice with texture like that, was very good. The lavender lemonade had a strong lavender essence I highly recommend this if you like lavender. This place is really good! It exceeded my expectations. A friend suggested we eat here-there was 5 of us. I checked out Yelp and the reviews were mixed and I had looked at the menu and wasn't too excited about it (I am not a fan of corn, as most corn is GMO and not good for you and most of their items had corn in it). I decided not to be a baby about it and try something new! We went for lunch. First of all, our server was so friendly and accommodating. She said she is the sister of the owner and chef (the owner wasn't there that day, would love to meet her!). She told us about her sister's experience as a chef and how she got started with her own restaurant. They try to source from local farms and tribes. I love that they are so authentic. We asked her what was popular and she gave us her recommendations. We started out with the fry bread appetizer. I know that is not super healthy but it was super delicious! (I took some home with my leftover entree and it heated up well). I ended up with the wild rice bowl-wild rice, roasted butternut squash, roasted acorn squash, grilled corn (yes I had the corn and it was good!), black beans and wild onion. I also had ground bison added to it and it was great. It was GF/and also Vegan until I added the meat haha). I really liked it a lot and took some home. Some of my friends had soups and salads. If you're coming to visit Oklahoma and want to stay true to the Natv culture I highly recommend Natv' as your first culinary adventure! I had the Bison Poyha, with roasted delicata squash. Some may find Bison gamey, but I thought it was cooked well and delicious. It was comparable to venison in my opinion. My friend had the vegan taco's and enjoyed them. If you have never consumed Fry Bread, I highly recommend ordering that as a starter it was delish and plenty to go around. I first tried their food in 2021 at the Tulsa Fair. The tag under their logo said "Modern Native American Cuisine" and I was immediately hooked. I tried their pork belly succotash with corn, onions, squash, beans, pork belly bites and bacon. The flavor combination was something like I'd never tried before and it was delicious. Portions were generous too! Their honey lavender lemonade was so refreshing and it had colorful edible flowers in it! Now they had their own location in Broken Arrow and I had to make the drive to try them. It was so worth it. I had their Friday special: Indian taco, beef hand pie and sweet corn custard. Let's start with the Indian taco: SO much food! The fry bread is so thick and fluffy and delicious. It serves as the perfect base for the ground beef, pinto beans, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded (melted cheese). It comes with a side of sour cream and salsa. Somehow the bread doesn't get soggy. The beef meat pie is served with jalapeño seasoned fries (they're not spicy, just flavorful) and come with a side of sour cream and salsa as well. Finally, the sweet corn custard is a must-try! I love sweets but this was not overly sweet. It balances out with the whipped cream and the blueberries and blackberries it's topped with. We tried a bunch of different menu, including the fried fish nugget, pork belly succotash, fried bison steak, and fry bread with honey, and our favorite was the succotash. We we're excited to see there is a native restaurant around here especially that we were here from out of town only to realize that food is pretty bland. We were disappointed. The fried bread is just tasteless. No salt no flavor. Even the butter sauce and the berry sauce that they brought in with it was tasteless. The seared trout wasn't so bad but the bison tacos weren't good. The blue corn tortilla that came with it didn't go well with this kind of shredded bison. The corn hush poppies had overwhelming taste of raw garlic. Their texture was on the dry side. Their food presentation was good though. Their bathrooms is adorable! We are crushed. We visited the area for the Cherokee National Holiday and toward the top of my list was to have an authentic Native meal. Unfortunately, Natv delivered an underwhelming experience. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. We ordered the Bison Tacos with a side of fry bread & honey, and added a side of corn cake. We were one of two customers in the restaurant, yet the food took forever to be prepared and arrive to the table. The bison is braised and served shredded roast style. The meat was dry, room temperature, and flavorless. There were no spices- not even salt. The tacos were topped with a blackberry salsa- but that turned out to be diced onions mixed with a purple substance that had no flavor. The blue corn tortilla was fine. The corn cake was completely flavorless. Again, no spices. It didn't even taste like corn! The highlight was the fry bread and honey. Outstanding! Fresh and delicious. Our server was friendly and polite. I really wanted to love this place and recommend it, but the execution fell flat. If they added spices to the meals and served it faster (hot) this place would be amazing. All the potential is there. The menu items sound delicious... if they could just execute them better. Fantastic restaurant in Broken Arrow, the food blew us away. I read an article about this place and grabbed a BA friend to try it out. It's a smallish, cute place with a nice interior and super friendly staff. I had the vegan tacos - blue corn tacos with beans, corn, vegetables and hummus, and vegan succotash. My friend had one bite of my succotash and ordered one for herself. She also had a pork and corn (I would call it hominy) stew, which she also loved. We already have plans to go back and can't decide if we want to try something different or go back for the amazing food we already tried. Now, maybe firm beans is simply how they do it there and if it is, then the dish isn't very good. We were excited about experiencing what was touted as a unique indigenous restaurant in Broken Arrow. When we entered the restaurant, laying neatly against the wall inside the door was a large blackboard with "Open" written on it, along with a notation about the "daily specials". There was one other two top that was already occupied when we arrived. Table top setup was absolutely average. There was no nod towards anything other than sitting in a typical diner. Service was fair. We chose to have a starter, entrée and dessert. We chose not to ask, but there was never any mention of the "daily specials." Starters of trio cake and pumpkin salad were good. After ordering our entrée, the server returned to let us know the shredded bison taco was not available. We accepted the option offered of ground bison taco. Taste was bland. Some plates were not cleared away between courses, despite our request. The dessert menu was hastily handwritten, with no prices, and delivered to the table in a T shape perspex holder. The Blue corn mush bowl was the taste highlight of our meal. The fresh blueberries, along with the warm blue corn mush, made for a great contrast of texture and flavors. What a missed opportunity! Menu descriptors to note the significance of a particular dish were completely lacking. When we searched online, we found a wealth of information readily available about the uniqueness of many of the menu offerings. There was absolutely no excitement and positively no interest, other than a paycheck, from all those we came into contact with at the restaurant. There were three staff visible in the dining area. One server and one individual by the register, who spent the vast majority of their time pacing (three steps to the right, three steps to the left, and repeat, ad nauseam). The other person visible front of house was an individual who was wearing their outside coat and sat down while rolling silverware. The fire exit by the restrooms was completely barricaded by a collection of chairs, along with a square steel bar that prevented access to the fire exit door itself. The blackboard laying against the wall by the front door could easily have blocked emergency egress if it was to have fallen over. I could recommend NATV if there were really no other dining options available. To stay in business, there needs to be a much greater focus, on the many unique elements of this indigenous restaurant. Overall, that Saturday lunchtime was nothing more than a very average dining experience. Disappointing in many aspects. We went once. There's no need for us to go back. read more

The premise is interesting but that was pretty much the highlight. We had very much looked forward to the desserts (lots of sweet tooth's!). They were out of most and the few they managed to pull together were disappointing and sad, featuring a melted blob of whipped cream on top. The food itself was pretty much inedible. We had 8 diners total and not one plate or item was palatable enough to even finish. The "wild rice" was over cooked and clearly microwaved. We have been wanting to try this place since we moved to BA a few months ago. Not sure if it was just an off night or what, to start I thought the whole vibe was a bit off. It felt like some sort of coffee shop or something, not really like a place to have dinner. I wanted to try one of their Lemonades but they were out, then we ordered the corn fritters as an appetizer and they looked amazing but were lacking in the flavor department. They were very bland. I was excited to see watermelon steak on the menu, but sadly when I ordered the corn gazpacho I was informed that and the watermelon steak was part of the summer menu which they no longer were serving. Our server then recommended a coffee crusted bison filet only to tell me seconds later they were also no longer serving that. So as we continued to look over the menu I ordered the white bean hummus and asked to substitute the corn chips with the rosemary pecan crackers. They were also no longer serving those... Supreme-everyone has to go there and eat! We had Three Sisters Stew, Trip Corn Cakes, Honey Pecan Cake and Sweet Corn Cheesecake all with outstanding honey lavender lemonade. This place has something for everyone - but offers a menu not for 'fair goers' but for folks that want to try something different. After you have stopped once you will want to recommend it other folks and come back again and again, Easy to find and Sierra is a topnotch dining room waitress, server, chamber of commerce host and all-around All-American gal.
