First time visiting here. Little - Cute restaurant the waitress was very kind and always checked on us. Everyone there was very nice. I had the steak quesadillas. They were good filled with Mozzarella , green bell peppers and chopped up steak. On the menu, it says it comes with crispy fries. Unfortunately my fries were not very crispy, Infact some were undercooked. Chips and salsa were not that great in my personal opinion. The guacamole they give you to dip the quesadilla in was fresh. The Burris tacos from the original 918 Maple was awesome. They had really really good fried fish dinner and chicken dinner the new one on 21st has good Mexican food. I haven't tried anything else but if you want to have the best of the best go to 918 Maple at 21st and Memorial off to the right side of Quiktrip that's original that is great the others definitely the original I go to all the time. read more

Let me open with this: Walking in to this literal Hole in the Wall, I wasn't expecting much. It is a tiny place, we were there for a To-Go order so the small dining room didn't matter. The girl at the counter was pleasant but, seemed very shy and uncomfortable. I don't think they get many English Speaking customers in. I wasn't sure she understood the order. I had Beria Tacos, we ordered a Chicken Salad for my wife and one of our sons had Nacho Fries. Arriving home, still wasn't certain we had the right food. To my surprise absolutely everything was excellent. These had to be the best Red Tacos a have eaten. The Consumer was rich and wonderfully seasoned. They were loaded with an excellent lean beef, and had light amount of raw onion and cilantro. The Nacho Fries looked and smelled wonderful and the kid made them disappear in a hurry. The wife's salad had a good portion of protein, the dressing was on the high side of good, according to my wife. I think the apparent lack of understanding English was over played. I understand they opened a full serve Restaurant on Sheridan around 25th, this location seems to be more for catering. pros: the food was phenomenal. My two coworkers and I were able to share one birria pizza for lunch. It was so big. I only ate two slices and I didn't eat for the rest of the day. Even when I woke up the next morning, I was still full. I asked for three orders of the consume and they were very nice to provide it for us. I knew we'd all be double dipping in our own consume. Both those girls are gonna take their families back to this place. I don't know if I'll be back. I don't need that much food in my life. Cons: we had such a hard time understanding the guy working the counter. I thought he said my total was $31? And that was really crazy because I had read online that the pizza was only $20 and I made him go through the bill with me in an itemize fashion and I was still angry. But then it turned out he said $21! So then I felt bad. And my coworker she wanted to buy a Sprite, but I think he wanted to ask her how many she wanted to buy and she thought he was asking her what price she thought the Sprite was? Stopped to try the Tacos de Birria that I've heard so many good things about. They did not disappoint. I ordered two tacos that were stuffed with slow-cooked beef, cheese, onions and cilantro and a side of the consumé for dipping the tacos. The tacos were hot, and the cheese would stretch with each bite. The consumé was rich and full of flavor. There were bits of meat, cilantro, and onions swimming it which only added to the flavor. The chips were not those boring store bought things that were just picked up at Sams. They were thick and crunchy with just the right amount of salt. Everything was excellent. Probably one of the worst, most deficient reviews, I have ever written, only focused on one menu item. After enjoying this meal, a terrifying realization, suddenly registered. By eating, I unwittingly accepted an onerous burden; convey the unequaled deliciousness of the "Birria Tacos" using only words. It can't be done. But, this is my simpilifed attempt; they are 6 stars or better on a 5-star scale!! The remainder of this review is just a bunch of words; a failed attempt to complete a task that I have conceded, as being impossible. There was not a single bite taken that did not provide unbelievable flavor. The dipping broth was magnificent . The tacos were packed with perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, carnivore satisfying portions of beef, accompanied with cheese, cilantro and onion. Lime wedges, radishes and a green and red sauce on the side to compliment the perfection. The red sauce delivered the heat I was looking for. This meal goes on record as the best single Mexican food meal I have ever had! Period! If you eat here and then question the 5-star reviews, you weren't paying attention and ordered the wrong thing. That's your problem. If you did order the 4 Famous Birria tacos and didn't like them or uttered something outlandish like "they were bland," I congratulate you for surviving your bout with covid, and hope your sense of taste returns soon! A wonderful shredded beef is steeped in juices , placed in tortilla with a light touch of cheese and then grilled on the flattop!! Served with 3 sauces- one of which is the 'traditional' consume broth. It is a small place in an easily missed center and a varied menu. Wow what a find! My wife and I stopped in to eat lunch and was blown away by the Famous Birria tacos. When they say they are famous they aren't joking, and if they aren't famous they should be.
