This place was excellent. Did not expect to find Venezuelan Arepas in Tulsa. Loved this restaurant! 1) Place is huge and houses three restaurants: Venezuelan, Peruvian, and Mexican. It is clean and welcoming. 2) Service is fast but they take a long time to get your food prepared.'come with enough time or order ahead of time. 3) Food was delicious!!! 4) Had several dishes. Arepas are delicious and freshly made. I recommend you give them a try any time!

Estuvo absolutamente riquísima y me dejó super full.

If you're wondering what an arepa is, it might be easy to compare them to Mexican gorditas or Salvadorean pupusas--all delicious corn "pockets" to hold flavorful fillings. There are slight differences between them though, and what makes arepas unique is that they are usually made with precooked cornmeal (masarepa) and stuffed after cooking. Arepas are very common in Colombia and Venezuela. Arepa Bar is a Venezuelan style spot that's in the same building as Inkanto (Peruvian) and Granada (Mexican juice bar). They all went through the Kitchen 66 restaurant incubator program and it's so cool they collaborated to be in a brick and mortar spot together. Doña Carmelita (Mexican food) is also in the same building, which has been there for a while. The place itself looks great since I last visited. They painted the outside and it looks a lot better! I love how spacious it is and how much seating is available. There was Salsa music playing when I walked in, so they made my dance heart happy. Arepa Bar is run by three sisters. The two that helped me were super nice. I wanted to try as many as possible and got four arepas even though they tried to tell me that I'd be satisfied with just one. They weren't kidding (makes sense since they're $11 each!). Their arepas are HUGE (see pic with my hand for reference). I could only fit two at a time on my plate. They also don't mess around with the amount of filling- all of them were bursting with it, so much so that I had to take some out so I could hold it more easily without it falling apart. I didn't want to use the bag to eat it but that might have been easier. This just shows I need practice in my arepa-eating so challenge accepted, I'll definitely be back! The bar is setup for you to make your own, so we went with the shredded chicken and avocado, avocado and mushroom, beef with cheese, and one with only cheese. The classic cheese one was my favorite but the mushroom one was great too. The bags they use to put them to go are super cute. The marker they used was neon so it was hard to tell what kind they were but we figured it out. The arepa sauces are so good too! I think one had garlic, crema and cilantro and the red one was spicy- will ask about this next time! There's also an option to make it a bowl and include beans, rice, or plantains. They have Venezuelan chicha, which is similar to Mexican horchata, made with white rice, but it's extra creamy and thick-- they use three kinds of milk. The consistency caught me by surprise at first. I felt like I needed a spoon instead of a straw. Finally, we tried their chocolate marquesa no-bake dessert. It's made with layers of Maria biscuits, condensed milk cream, and butter. Their serving for this is also very generous. I could only eat a small corner at a time.

The pabellon arepa is SO GOOD. I think about it often. Don't even get me started on their sauces. Incredible.

We were originally between two vendors and before even tasting their food, we knew that we wanted Ludgers purely by their communication and knowledge over the wedding industry in general. Michelle Ramzel was the event specialist assigned to us and honestly I couldn't have picked a more perfect person to work with. Her knowledge on rentals and her attention to detail was a god-send during this stressful time of planning a wedding. Like I'm pretty sure she has angel wings. 10/10 would recommend working with her in the future! Now on to the food. Ludgers hosts free tasting events through out the year that you could attend in order to try a good portion of their menu and if you didn't get to try something in one of those tastings that your interested in, they also offer to host a private tasting in order to try some of the other items. These tastings made it super easy for my husband and I to narrow down our menu and select our favorite items. When we decided to attend a private tasting we noticed that the steaks were cooked more medium/medium-well and we were looking for a more medium-rare cook to our steaks. Michelle took note of what we wanted and we were pleasantly surprised that our steaks were cooked perfectly on the wedding day! Additionally, the mashed potatoes are to die for and the chorizo mini sliders are so freakin good! Day of the wedding. Michelle showed up at the time that the venue opened to start setting up table cloths as early as possible. This allowed my mom to set up center pieces pretty early so that she could take her time getting ready. I'm telling you, Michelle is an angel. I was a little busy so I didn't get to talk to very many servers or cooks but my goodness, they were on top of everything! The bar tenders were so sweet to all of my friends and family and during dinner, no one even had the opportunity to think about food or drink because they were constantly being taken care of. This team was so professional and kind. My husband and I were unable to attend our cocktail hour because of photos but the staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a small plate of our passed appetizers to try with our meal once we got to our table! Then at the end of the night the staff packed up two meals for my husband and I to have once we got back to our hotel! Plates, napkins, water, wine, silverware... all included in our goody bag. Its quite possible for me to go on forever about how amazing this company is but I'll stop now. My hope is that my review helps a future bride make the decision on who they should use for catering. You definitely can't go wrong with choosing Ludgers.

Youth Services helps young people experiencing homelessness and other challenges by providing counseling and youth programming. T-Town Tacos is their employment readiness program that helps youth by equipping them with the employment skills they need to create a better future for themselves. Not only do they have an amazing mission, but the tacos themselves are delicious and affordable. They have four options for breakfast tacos ($3 each): veggie, chorizo, bacon or sausage, egg & cheese. They all have flour tortillas and amazing flavor. My favorite is the sausage, egg & cheese taco, they use a spiced sausage that I love. For lunch tacos ($4 each), their options are: pork carnitas, chicken fajita, bean & Veggie, or chipotle beef. My favorite is the pork carnitas, the roasted poblano they use is delicious. They also have three salsas available, all made from scratch: traditional roja (tomato+peppers), creamy verde (tomatillo+avocado) and cream salsa (jalapeño+cilantro+ citrus). You can't go wrong with either but I like the verde. If you ever need breakfast or lunch for an event or meeting during the week, their tacos are the way to go. You have to order at least 20 tacos and order with at least 24 hours in advance. Their online catering request makes things super easy. All you need to do is fill out the form on their site with the tacos you need. They conveniently offer delivery to the metro area. Your order is then confirmed by email or phone call after submitting the form. You can also find their trikes serving tacos every Tuesday from 7-9am on 1st and Boston downtown.
