After a quick recent Yelp search this place kept popping up as number 1 in the area so I broke down and tried the restaurant again. It was nearly a completely different experience! The pita bread is probably the best I've ever had. The portion size has much improved. The mix & match plate options are more balanced. I love I can order a LARGE tabouli salad! The garlicky potatoes have always been delightful. They packed all of the things I paid for and curbside was literally instant. I WILL return many times if this restaurant keeps up these new changes. Kinda grossed out by the guy at the register where you order before you seat yourself: he had a huge fresh tattoo from elbow to wrist that was red and irritated and smeared with some transparent ointment. If he'd have brought out my food I would have demanded refund and left. Had the "lambaa" wrap. Expensive at $13 with no sides and it was small. It did taste ok but was light on flavor. I understand this is a franchise operation but don't diminish their offerings by using the term "chain". As an experienced Mediterranean diner I found everything we tried to be top notch. This location is in a shared plaza with several restaurants but limited parking. We did circle the plaza and found a spot but others in our group had to park offsite. When you walk in - you order at the counter right away and are handed your drink and number. There are lots of seating options including a covered patio area which was quieter than inside. There was definote space for various sized groups. The service was really good, we had multiple people stop by for drink refills, dropping off pita bread for the table and making sure we had everything we needed. The food was good. I appreciated that there was a gluten free bread option, not something you see at Mediterranean places. I really enjoyed the lentil soup, it was hearty and had good flavor. My friend ordered the Shawarma wrap, I ordered the Garlicky Chicken plate - and WOW! I LOVED it! I'm always looking for a higher protein, lower carb option. I've never had a bad meal at Meddy's. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! Our favorites are the chicken and the lamb with the main plate or big bowl and the citrus salmon is always fantastic. Get you seat then a bar drink as it's super busy. One food arrives there are multiple staff walking around to meet you needs. We sat on the porch and even though a bit cool we stayed warm with the heaters. Interior has booths and tables with warm lighting and a really cool tress that goes to the ceiling. I have seen Meddys in Kansas when visiting my brother up there. No wonder when I first saw it, I thought I've seen it before. It's in the Shops at Warren Place which is the perfect location for any restaurant. My understanding is it's not a franchise although it has many locations. The restaurant looks so beautiful and upscale. The service is impeccable, even for takeout. I love the outside seating area, warm and cozy thanks to the heaters. I'm terms of food, not my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town. I feel like the value is not as high compared to some local Mediterranean restaurants. For example, the Big Bowls didn't really have a lot of food and the beef kafta was a little dry. To me, some local Mediterranean restaurants have better beef kafta. The first time we visited Meddys I think they had an odd night. Everything was so unbelievably salty I said we would never go back. Well, we got invited back with some friends to sit in the patio so all the kids could play on the green space. The second time back was absolutely magical. The food was perfection. Flavors on point, huge portions, perfectly cooked and seasoned mixed veg. I honestly can't wait to go back. I also didn't realize they will bring you as many soft delicious pitas with olive oil as you want. And kids meals are $2. For real. You can get one as an adult for $5 which I would totally do next time. Only complaints: why the tvs everywhere? Let's get rid of the single use plastic straws. Too much waste; microplastics are real. It's freezing inside. Like, make sure you bring a coat. When we ate inside the first time I couldn't wait to get out of there, and I don't get cold easily, I'm usually too warm. The staff could not have been more helpful! We nabbed two seats at the bar and tried a house marg. I was so impressed with the food. The chicken shawarma was so tasty and tender. The tabbuleh was good. I usually don't like it overly parsleyed- up but I did like this version. (Know it's more herbs than bulgar.) The falafel shawarma was delicious!!
