As my hunger grew on a breezy and beautiful summer day (August 7th), I had a craving for something new but verified. I was deciding between MisFits & another location so I texted a friend to make the final decision. Long story short, she chose MisFits & we met around 1pm. From what I've been recommended, my/our experience was pretty aligned with what I had heard. Random summer Thursday. Perfect for a good lunch. I was familiar with where MisFits was but never walked inside. Considering that other downtown locations either are on a one-way street, are in busier areas or have less parking availability, the location is relatively convenient. I parked right in front of the restaurant & entered an enamoring space. The entrance leads into a hallway with the host toward the end. Once past the "host hall," the interior is 80% modern, 20% retro. Filled with booths, clear lanes and a good mix of seating options. The lighting is perfectly balanced with large windows for natural light to be let in with other fixtures filling the gaps. We sat in the large "L" shaped booth & our server was with us almost immediately (there were only 2 other tables sat at the time). Of all the menus I've observed, MisFits may have the most efficient offerings ever. There's not tons of variety but it didn't feel limited either. Classic American Favorites, Only. While our server was wrapping up with the other 2 tables, I reluctantly decided on the 1/2 Sandwich (The Wifey) 1/2 Soup (Rotisserie Chicken Tortilla Soup) with Sweet Potato Fries while my friend ordered the B.B. Burger & normal fries. The food came out relatively quickly, less than 10mins after placing the order. The chicken sandwich was good but I was more surprised at how hearty & flavorful the soup was! It made me want to order a full order of nachos. My friend stated that her burger was good except the bacon was thicker & chewier than she would have liked (but she's picky). We conversed for another 20-30mins afterwards but I think we were both satisfied with our meals. Overall, I believe that MisFits has almost the perfect name: it's located downtown but still seems to be one of the more underrated restaurants in the district. If you want above-average American food & don't want to pay above average prices, this is the place to go. I'd be happy to revisit in the evening to see the full luminary experience. read more

Visited this location recently to change the scene, and it has been a good experience in most aspects. The food itself was cooked nicely, tasted good and was well presented, but not all of their elements were as prominent as they should have been. Certain foods were actually pleasant and others slightly less so in comparison. This environment was nice and made one like staying around. Service was usually attentive and friendly, but had some minor situations when it could have been improved. Overall, it is a nice place to have a visit to, as not everything surprises utterly, but at the same time, it is not a bad place. read more

Found this place because I looked up "best happy hours in Tulsa" and this place popped up. Me and my friend decided to try and it did not disappoint. We got some delicious cocktails and both got the happy hour burger. Misfit Kitchen in Downtown Tulsa. I came with a large party and we were seated in their private dining area behind the bar. Our server that evening was kind but seemed to be all over the place, as she forgot a couple drinks. I know she was doing her best to memorize our orders but should have written it down. Anyway, the Apricot Brussels and House Fries were all I ordered for dinner since we had a pretty heavy lunch. And I loved the flavor of the Apricot Brussels. I would love if they were a little more roasted as opposed to being drenched in the sauce. Again, good flavor just wish it had some dry pieces or just lightly tossed in the sauce. The fries were average. Most of the people in my table ordered entrees and they seemed to enjoy what they had. Our service was a bit slow but I'm sure it was because we had a larger party. My wife and I split the Mary had a little lamb...braised lamb shank and added a side of apricot brussel sprouts...she also had a raspberry Radler and I had a Yeungling. The flavors were outstanding! The lamb fell off the bone, so tender and so flavorful. This was an experience of flavors, everything complimenting each other. Our waiter was a hoot, cheerful and energetic, and helped make it a positive experience. The space has been renewed and is open, comfortable and inviting... I was very impressed with the food. The ingredients and taste were fantastic . We were a party of 4 and all of us were more than happy with our orders. The restaurant was not that full and our food came out very quickly. Our waiter was great but he was pretty much the only waiter on our side of the restaurant which made him very busy so we did not get water refills as often as we wanted but it was understandable. Ate here with a party of four before the Oilers hockey game. Service was great, quick response to any needs, and drinks were always full. I got the BB Burger and it was a 10/10 perfect burger IMO. We got an order of both the loaded fries and nachos for the table to share. Nachos were solid but really needed more cheese, a lot of the chips had very little if any on them. Loaded fries were really good! One person got the chicken tenders...they did not like it because the "tenders" were chicken breasts cut in half rather than actual chicken tenderloins, so the texture was a little more dry and chewy than they were hoping for. All-in-all a pretty good dinner and I would definitely be willing to eat here again. read more

We decided to stop by here after the Oilers Game at the BOK. I love the atmosphere. The art work on the walls is hilarious. TVs everywhere if you want to watch the game. They have a full bar, decent wine & beer list. Excellent cocktail menu. Food was good. We orders the chicken nachos. We tried the Frying Nemo (fish sandwich) and the chicken with French fries. The ranch was bomb. Service was okay. The food was fast to come out but our waitress just wasn't very attentive. She would disappear for long periods or walk by but not check in (even with me actively trying to get her attention). They weren't even that busy in my opinion (half the tables were empty and she wasn't the only waitress working). I ordered the Jojo sandwich and Caesar salad lunch combo. The sandwich was great--fresh, flavorful, and definitely the star of the meal. Unfortunately, the Caesar salad was a big letdown. I'm a huge Caesar fan and usually order them wherever I go, but this one was barely edible. It was completely overdressed, and the flavor was way too tangy--just didn't taste right at all. Family of 4 with two kids. Went this Saturday at 5:00pm. Walked in and was asked if we had a reservation and we told him no we didn't. Mind you the restaurant was not very full at all, most of the tables were empty. He said well we can sit you at the bar top but all these tables are reserved. We decided to leave. Went outside I just happen to look on their website to see if there were any reservations available later that day. There was a reservation available at 5:15 PM for four (remember it's like 5:05pm at this point). I go ahead and get the reservation for 5:15. Now it's like 5:10 so we go back in, greeted by the same hostess rudely asking us what we needed since we were back. I told him we have a reservation now for 5:15 and he looked at me like I was crazy. He asked me how I did that. I simply explained to him. I went on your website and got a reservation and that there were a few available. He hesitantly takes us to a table as he's sitting us down, he turns to me and says rudely just so you know this table is reserved for another party at 7:30pm. I said confused "okay". I'm not really sure what he was implying. But in my opinion to keep a bunch of tables in a restaurant empty because you have reservations for them two hours later is probably not very smart business. And remind you, he was very rude and made us pretty uncomfortable. Luckily, we did have the sweetest waitress who took very great care of us, even apologizing for the inconveniences. I love that this place has vegan options but why is the only menu with that info on DoorDash? Just as vegans are an afterthought on the menu, they are an afterthought in the preparation of the food as well. Both vegan items, which are not very interesting or original, are acceptable. The proteins available are an Impossible patty or fried tofu. There is a "fried chicken-less" option with no indication of whether or not it is vegan again, afterthought comes to mind. Both of the vegan options are solidly decent- and that was the review from everyone I've been with that ordered one of the two items, the Animal Lover or the Beef-ish. This was true from vegans, vegetarians, omnis, etc., unanimous agreement. So yay(!!!!!!!11!!!) for a place with vegan options and a solid 'meh' for yet another place that can't be arsed to prepare a protein further than defrosting or unpacking. read more

Calling all misfits! On the corner of South Main Street and West Reconciliation Way, Misfit Kitchen has arrived. Only the memory of the old Laffa remains. The interior has been redesigned into a cool, open space with cool and quirky music (Digital Underground: The Humpty Dance) playing overhead. The menu lists plenty of unique creations to choose from. I played it safe and ordered a Tulsa Flag and Pop's Burger. The burger was a thick pure beef patty with smoked brisket, sharp cheddar cheese, pineapple berry BBQ sauce, homemade pickles, and blackberries with a side of their house fries. Seriously folks, this is one of the best-tasting, juiciest, flavor bombs of a burger that I've ever had! The combination of flavors simply work together. The brisket was smoky, juicy, and so tender. The fries were good. Crispy and seasoned but not elevated to the same level as the burger. Service was on point. Friendly and not overbearing. Get here soon and experience this one for yourself.
