I've been to the coastal kitchen a handful of times and they always have delicious hot plates as well as drinks. I also love their ice cream/soft serve they have! They have an adorable little marketplace that's attached with their own retail items as well as any sunscreen or sand equipment you might need! Every employee I've seen has been very welcoming and helpful and they seem to love working there as well. I've actually heard them singing as they're restocking and I think it's cute. They feel so at home while at work. I honestly love this little beach community and like how clean and respectful everybody seems to be on the beach itself! I can't wait to get a little Airbnb and stay here for the weekend!!

Fried chicken sandwich with mixed greens salad.

I actually wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The pickles were spicier than I was expecting but I managed to deal with heat. The sandwich came with a salad of mixed greens (plus arugula - yum) and was topped with a light vinegar based dressing. Both were very good. The young guy at the register was very friendly. It was a gorgeous warm day at Dillon and the view was epic. I will be back.

Well, I sure was thankful for this place on Saturday. After stopping by at the pizza place in Tomales and finding out they had run out of food, I seemed to have very few options. Luckily, we had stayed in Dillon Beach before and remembered there was a restaurant here ( although it was closed last time). So we came on down and checked out this location. Anyone who's been to Dillon Beach knows parking is a bit difficult to find and this place is no exception. However, the place is beautiful, the service is pretty good for a walk up type of location, and the food is delicious. Very happy with my burger and fries- I'm sure we will be back.

Toddler size chowder tin. You need the large for grown adults.
    Alex R.

I bought the $10 metal tin of chowder. They should definitely show the size before you purchase. It's super small and barely filled 3/4 . This is definitely toddler size. It came with a thin slice of fried bread. There was more vegetables than anything else swimming around the light chower sauce. Since there is nothing else to eat for miles around, I'll give it a 3 star.

The only thing I'm sad about after my first visit here is that I didn't find this place sooner! Such a cute little beach restaurant with an amazing view and they are very dog and child friendly. I mean what else could you want? Oh yeah the food was great too! I went here with my family for my birthday lunch well actually we went to the beach and I wanted clam chowder after that. I yelped clam chowder from Dillon beach and it said this place was like right there. Dillon is my favorite local beach so I was shocked I just now found this spot now. I will definitely be back and soon. The service was fast and friendly also patient with our not so well behaved dogs ‍ They literally barked at her when she brought us the food. So shameful but she didn't seem bothered at all. Like I said they were very dog friendly with dog water bowls all over the patio area and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. There were in door seats too but most everyone sat outside bc it was a nice day and the entire patio is over looking the beach.

Three things that make this a great lunch spot: maybe the best fish and chips around that come with a house made mayo herb dipping sauce, the seasonal salad (today it had fresh greens, ripe melon and Oaxaca cheese), and the view of Dillon beach and Tómales Bay. Dog friendly outdoor seating.

Hubby and I grabbed a bite here on our first night as we weee settling in and thought the food was decent. We ordered the clam chowder, fried chicken sandwich and fish & chips. The best thing was honestly the fries - super crisp and well seasoned!

We love coming to Dillon Beach and having a place to walk to for lunch or dinner is awesome. Food was great and service was quick. You can eat outside or inside overlooking the beach. Decor is modern and comfortable. They also have a couple things for the kiddos like chicken tenders.

    Sunny dining room

Yes we live right by the Dillon Beach Resort but we hadn't been to Coastal kitchen in a long while but our friends insisted that it was seriously good. We walked in and really loved the sunny and beach space. We grabbed a table and ordered at the service station. The happy hour special (3-5) was for three rock cod fish tacos and a beer. We also ordered ish and chips. The drinks came out promptly with the henhouse beer ruling the roost. The fish tacos were beautiful with a large chunk of fish, fresh shredded cabbage and a soft tortilla. The real kicker was their incredible house made hot sauce. A grilled fish option would have been nice. The fish a chips were super fresh and hot with a light batter that realized complimented the fish. This place is definitely one of the best dining options in the area.

The two restaurants are nextdoor to each other by the harbor. There's street parking - the parking lots are limited so we just parked in the street instead. Spud Point is casual. You wait in the line and order at the window. Then they bring the food out to you. There are some picnic tables and sunshades out front. Very easy and no pretense here! Here's what we ordered: Italian sourdough French bread $5 Red chowder $10 White chowder $10 2 crab sandwiches $20 each Albacore tuna sandwich $11 When ordering the bread, make sure you get some butter. The bread was absolutely delicious with crusty exterior and chewy inside. Perfect accompaniment with the chowder! We loved though New England white chowder. The Manhattan red chowder was fine, but we barely had half of it and took the rest home. The crab sandwich was great too! Tuna sandwich was good! There are other foods for sale at the order window - bags of chips, Crustable sandwiches. Can't wait to come back here! Wish I had the cooler with me to buy live crabs!!! BTW, I didn't see a bathroom here. But Fisherman's Cove (nextdoor) has one. It's just one unisex bathroom so there's a long line!

If you're a garlic fan this might be your jam but I wanted to taste like clams and not garlic. The Crab sandwich was served cold but it tasted pretty good. Price was a little high for It and I prefer to add some salt for taste. Overall experience was okay I liked server/cashier who was kind, polite and helpful.

They have seating inside and outside. My mother had been craving fried oysters so I took her here. For some reason, not many places have fried oysters. I think this was the only place in the Bodega Bay area. Not sure why that is. Anyway, the oysters were 5 stars for my mom. They came with a dipping sauce. I think it was the garlic aioli. I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with chipotle aioli. I traded that for the garlic aioli. It was loaded with thin slices of chicken breast. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it was perfect for the sandwich. When we first ordered, it was Ash who took our order. He's so energetic and friendly. He is part of what makes this place special. They have an attention to detail and service that reminds of the Garden Cafe in San Rafael. That's what my boyfriend and I ordered, and were satisfied (not to mention fueled for our hike that afternoon). I agree with other reviews that say it's pricey for what you get, but you'll still have a satisfying meal. The crab sandwich is real fresh, I kinda wish they toasted the bread, but would still recommend it. It came with a few slices of carrot that seemed random IMO, but still ate it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips! Service was straight-forward - you order and pay at the counter, then take your number to seat where your food is delivered. Most people were sitting outside on the benches, which is where you wanna be, especially on a sunny day with a view of the water. But there are also chairs and tables inside. Parking can be tight around here. The lot outside the restaurant is very small, and the street/back parking signs can be confusing. (There were cars parking in zones clearly marked with "No Parking" signs.)

We had a tasty lunch with raw oysters and a jalapeño mignonette sauce, smoked trout dip, and a bowl of the chowder. The smoked trout dip was pretty good with the chip and pickled onion (my least favorite dish). The raw oysters with the mignonette sauce were fantastic...we went for two rounds! My favorite chowder in Bodega Bay was Spud's, but I think this one knocked it out. I enjoyed the smoky flavor to it! Our kids aren't seafood fans so I really appreciated their kids menu that had butter & cheese pasta. Their Bloody Mary was solid as well! The following day, we had the Wedge Salad and calamari along with a bowl of chowder. The salad was crisp and the combination of ingredients was perfect with all the textures and flavors of the bacon, cherry tomatoes, shoe string onion rings, and blue cheese dressing...the best wedge salad I've ever had! I loved the lightness of the calamari batter as well! This is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. It was romantic with the view of the bay. I felt the customer service was a little off, but eventually our servers were nicer as both lunches went on. There was a Hispanic man that was very friendly and kept our water filled. We enjoyed talking to him. The customers sure were friendly with lots of smiles towards our kids. This is my favorite Bodega Bay restaurant. I look forward to bringing family and friends.

The Happy Hour deals -- which is offered everyday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., simply can't be beat: $2 raw oysters, $3 grilled oysters, $5 crostinis, $4 bread and $8 beer and wine. We got an order of the crostinis along with two raw and two baked oysters. The kitchen here works quickly because our order was ready in no more than 10 minutes. The raw oysters come with their house mignonette and hot sauce and is served over a large mound of crushed ice. The type of oyster you get when ordering from their Happy Hour menu rotates daily but I forgot to note down which ones we had tried during our visit. The raw oysters were very fresh and came clean of shell fragments, but the connective muscle was still connected to the shell. The baked oyster was drowning in butter and packed a ton of flavor. Between the raw and baked, it's too hard to choose a favorite; I would recommend getting both. If you're ordering more than a few baked oysters, you'll probably want to get some bread to dip into the leftover butter. The crostinis we got were nicely toasted and was generously topped with jam and cheese. The crostinis are on the sweeter side so if you don't have a sweet tooth, it might be better to stick to their savory items. Overall, Bodega Bay Oyster Company is definitely worth a visit if you're on your way to Bodega Bay, either for a quick snack, picking up some fresh oysters to go, or just to stop by for a small driving break. Drive slowly as you approach the location on your GPS because the storefront is quite easy to miss on the side of the road.
