The staff here is always super friendly and they come across like they really enjoying being there. The inside seating includes table/chair combos, booths as well as bar seating. Weather permitting, they also have a relatively large patio which contains seating. As for the food, I have never had a bad meal here. From the French Toast to the Breakfast Tacos and everything in between, the food is consistently delicious. While all my visits have been for brunch, they have an extensive dinner menu with lots options that I hope to check out in the near future. She loved everything about this entree. For me, it was an easy decision. I LOVE their wedge salad and started with that. The price has gone up a bit but it remains outstanding. For some reason, the waiter gave me a small but it was fine. The small in 2026 is $7.99 and the regular size is now $11.99. For my entree, I ordered from the appetizer menu and got the crab cake. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the crab cake. It has to be the best in Dallas. It is one half pound of pure crab meat, no filler. The price has gone up to $26.99 so it is not cheap, but it is outstanding quality. The cake was perfectly cooked and the crab was sweet. It comes with three dips but to me, I want to taste the crab so I did not use them. The kid had the old fashioned fries and devoured them. Our server, Mark, was attentive and efficient. Service was excellent as usual. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in Dallas and IMO the best in the line of Kenny's restaurants. I went to the first hostess on the first floor and clearly explained that I was there for the Gabrielle G. reservation at 2:15 for a surprise brunch. I was told that the party was already seated and instructed to go upstairs and check in with the hostess there. I did exactly that. I went upstairs and told the second hostess the same thing: that I was there for the Gabrielle G. reservation at 2:15. Again, I was told, "They're already seated." Instead of someone walking me to the table or confirming the name of the reservation, I was given directions to walk to the end of the hallway, make a left, and that I would see them on the left. Here's where things became extremely uncomfortable. I had never met the people at this brunch. They were friends of my friend, so I had no idea what anyone looked like. I walked down the hallway and saw an African American family sitting at a table. Assuming this must be the party I was looking for, I approached them, introduced myself, and asked if they were there for the Gabrielle G. party. They were not. The gentleman explained that his name was Gabriel R., and I immediately realized I had been sent to the wrong table. I was absolutely mortified. Thankfully, the family was incredibly kind and understanding--and, in an unexpected and very generous gesture, they actually ended up paying for our entire table's brunch because of the special occasion. That kindness definitely helped an already awkward situation. What bothered me most was that this could have easily been avoided. I had clearly announced the reservation name and time twice. The hostesses had an opportunity to verify the reservation instead of simply pointing me in a direction. In my opinion, when a guest is arriving for a reservation--especially one they clearly identify as a specific party--the guest should be escorted to the correct table or the reservation should at least be confirmed before directing them elsewhere. The second hostess interaction was especially disappointing. She seemed distracted and, when I initially approached, was on her phone and took a few moments to acknowledge me. Once the mix-up happened, I felt as though I was being looked at as if I had somehow caused the confusion, rather than the situation being handled with accountability and professionalism. I will say, however, that once I was finally seated, the experience improved significantly. My server was wonderful--very friendly, attentive, and personable--and provided great service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, but he deserves recognition. The food was also good, and the remainder of the brunch was enjoyable. So, my overall experience with Haywire was definitely mixed. The food and table service were good, but the initial customer service and check-in process left a lot to be desired. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected a smoother and more attentive welcome. I'm sharing this review because mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles those mistakes matters just as much. A simple confirmation and escort to the correct table could have prevented an extremely awkward and embarrassing experience.

When I asked for my lime - she literally walked back with it IN THE PALM OF HER HAND!!! Three different times she removed food or drinks from our table without asking if we were done with them. She was never apologetic or kind when she made a mistake and really seemed very unaware of the "service" job altogether. My friend and I are overly nice to service people. I still tipped her very well! But the lunch was a disaster from start to finish and NOT the first time experience or birthday lunch I hoped to provide for her. We started with the goat cheese appetizer- it was good as always tho a tad too much garlic. My friend got the chicken melt after asking our server several menu questions and not getting clear answers. And I went with the turkey chili but it was too spicy for me so I took it home. The server asked if I'd like some additional chips to take home with it and never brought them. We have long loved Whiskey Cake and this wasn't a good look at all to have my friend as a returning customer. The server who brought out our appetizers was very lovely- and when she stirred the goat cheese for us and got oil everywhere, including on me, she apologized profusely. The two of these together really limit your options, but after finding The Rackhouse on a Yelp search, it seemed to tick all of the boxes. Traditional steakhouses were just too expensive, and "New American" places just didn't have enough of the familiar home cooked fare. Anyone who's spent much time in the Dallas/Ft Worth area recently knows how stiflingly hot it's been. But amazingly, our dinner here was on the first day with measurable rainfall in, well, forever or so it felt. And with it, the temperature came down, and then the hostess asked "would you like to sit on the patio?" We opted for that, and wow, what a treat! The space is expansive, with great seating and tables, misting fans (which weren't needed on this one day!) and "shade sails" (I had to look that up) to provide stylish cover from the overhead sun, but the best part of all, was a westerly facing view that brought us an absolutely stunning sunset (see my picture). Live music was provided by a really talented crooner with a guitar, belting out his versions of some great hits with feeling, and at a volume that still allowed conversation. A truly special setting. But what of the food? Once again, The Rackhouse delivered for everyone in our party. My wife and I opted for the buffalo cauliflower appetizer, little bite sized nuggets of battered joy that still had texture and firmness, but was well cooked and tasted great with the accompanying sauce. My entree was the grilled meatloaf, served with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. I asked for the gravy on the side, and honestly, I preferred ketchup on the meat loaf (I am from south of the Mason Dixon line, after all), but the gravy was great with the potatoes. The meat loaf itself was well cooked yet still tender, and well seasoned. Two other diners chose the chicken fried chicken, and its presentation was a little polarizing. It's pounded VERY thin, offering a crispy bite that's easy to cut with a fork, and easy to dip into the creamy gravy. I personally loved it, but one diner was wishing for it to be a little thicker. Finally, the server was able to talk us into dessert, which for me and another of our party was the Buffalo Trace Bread Pudding, and - wow. Featuring a whisky based sauce in lieu of the usual rum based sauce, it had a fantastic, rich flavor that elevated the tender yet substantial breading - it was fantastic. If you're sweet on sweets, this one is a winner. This was truly a wonderful experience in every way, and we'll be going back when the weather gets a little cooler for more time on that knockout patio. You should try it, too!
