I went here to purchase their jalapeno ranch dressing - which is so good. The service was amazing. It was so hot outside that they offered me a drink for free. The restaurant offers daily happy hour specials.
Meal ordered: Thursday Special "Avocado Queso Porkiladas" for $12.98 after tax. This location automatically asks for tips. The meal came out about 2 minutes after being ordered, which indicates that it is not fresh - despite having no one else in the restaurant. Sure enough, the food tastes as if it was not fresh. First impression was the dry rice and the distinct lack of avocados. The single slice was sad and lonely. The rice was extremely dry, and about half of it was crunchy, as if left on a hot surface much too long. The refried beans were creamy in texture, but they did not have much flavor besides "bean". The queso had a consistency of gravy rather than queso. The pork inside was juicy (thank goodness), but it didn't have any flavor of itself. It depended entirely on the spice of the toppings and the pepper inside to give any flavor at all. Regarding everything else: they were out of forks, the staff was friendly but when bringing the food they didn't bring anything else (it was ordered to go), and the ambience is tasteful. However, the food quality is weighed much more heavily than the rest of these factors. Overall, it was a big disappointment. I would rather have gone without eating, than spending this money and time.
Honestly, I think it was overpriced and just average. The tacos were a little over $3 and were barely filled and kinda bland. The cheese on my bean and cheese taco wasn't even melted. Besides that the place is clean and staff was friendly. But I think it is too expensive with small portions.
I had been eye this place for a good minute and I finally stepped in to grab dinner to go. I ordered the following: Picoso Burrito Combo$11.99 Choice of fajita chicken or beef, with onions, peppers, and topped with a spicy queso. Comes with a side of rice, beans and a drink. - They forgot to add the beans but the meal was big enough to feed to so I am not complaining. Everything was so good especially the spicy queso. I loved the salsa bar and the drink selection. This location is bigger than one would think and would make a great after work hangout with happy hour specials included! Very affordable food for the quality and quantity this is a place you don't want to overlook.
Dallas is full of taco joints, but only one Taco Joint. This place is pretty legit, offering a great selection of the usual fare of tacos, burritos and more. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary, just good solid tacos. And a burrito called the "Big B" which I am convinced is named for me.
When in the mood for fast Tex Mex, and not in the mood to be a food snob, this is your place. Been here a couple of times and the crispy tacos were okay but nothing to rave about. This time I had their enchiladas and they hit the spot when it needed a smacking. I was in the mood for some red cheese enchiladas, but wasn't sure if they had a traditional red sauce, so when I asked about the ranchero sauce, staff confirmed that it was more tomato-based....not what I was looking for. He offered to let me try three sauces and believe it or not, I went with the chile con carne. Now, chile con carne is something completely different when you come from El Paso. Dallas' chili con carne is at best, just chili, and not the good kind either. Well, even though Taco Joint's chile con carne is not the traditional version, it's closer to what I know because it is more red pepper-based and not so much canned chili like all the other Tex Mex restaurants in DFW. Sorry for the chile con carne Yelpsplaining, but it's an issue I've had with Dallas since moving here 20+ years ago. All in all, check it out, plus their daily specials.
Solid Tex-Mex. Quick service, friendly staff, and tasty food. Pro tip: checkout daily specials, good value for the $....
This place was love at first bite! One of my neighbors told me about this place that recently opened up in our neighborhood. You told me the food was really good and I needed to check it out. Knowing that he has very discriminating taste I could not wait to try it myself. He was right the food was fantastic! Adding flavor to the great food is the cool Ambience of the place. It kind of has a music theme. Great stereo system that plays the music at a level that you can hear all the notes but also hear the conversation at the table. Other restaurants should take note of their ability to do this. This place also has great service! Every employee that I encountered was friendly helpful and do any great job.
Tried this place for the first time and loved it!! Breakfast burritos are huge and delicious! I loved their queso and seasoned fries. Super sweet service as well! Tried the churros and they are incredible. Highly recommend!!
This place is killing it! As soon as I walked I was greeted with a friendly employee welcoming me in. She was very informative and knowledgeable about the menu. Yesenia had an amazing personality and was so sweet! Juan was also outstanding. The employees here are keeping a tradition of excellent service alive when most others are failing. I left out of there feeling 100 times better than I did before I walked in because of their uplifting demeanor with all their customers. The food is so fresh and made in house. My new favorite place! Thanks again Taco Joint!

The food here is consistent. Decent entry-point TexMex place. The issue I have is: was here buying a combo plate for my senior aged dad who lives nearby. I'd seen on their website, $11.99 for a chicken enchilada plate (2 enchil, rice, beans, drink). When the worker was ringing it up, it came up on the screen at $10.99, then they added $1.00 for each chicken enchilada. So the total before tax was $12.99. I don't care about the dollar, but I do care about businesses being honest and charging what they say the price is. The worker was young, and let's be honest, clueless. Didn't know what I was saying or how to speak to it when brought up. A veteran worker, who I saw here a month ago when buying a taco plate for dad, knew what the deal was. She said their point of sale may not match the website, or vice versa, and to leave a review to help prompt them to get on top of their stuff. So here we are. I like the place, it's decent food and first-tier pricing pretty much. I went on their website after the fact, and have added the photo here. It plainly says: "Cheese/Ground Sirloin/Chicken/Veggie. $11.99". Taco Joint management/ownership: fix it. Get your point of sale prices aligned with your website. Your customers who notice details see these things. You're exhibiting a mild case of bait-n-switch here. Giving one price online, when the customer comes in the door that's not the price. read more

Hi, CC. Thanks for the heads up. You're correct, our website does not…
Alright, let's talk about it. I stopped by The Taco Joint in Addison and ordered two breakfast tacos: Sausage, Egg, Potato & Cheese and Spicy Fried Chicken & Egg spicy fried chicken, scrambled eggs, and cheese. Let me start with this: the place is clean, the vibe is casual, and the server was nice. No complaints there. It's an easy, grab-a-taco-and-go kind of spot. Now... the food. The sausage, egg, potato & cheese taco was well made. Structurally sound. Good tortilla. Nothing falling apart. But flavor-wise? It just didn't hit. The eggs weren't seasoned, and for me, eggs without seasoning are just... there. If I'm eating breakfast tacos, I need them to wake me up a little. This one stayed asleep. The Spicy Fried Chicken & Egg taco was the better of the two. The chicken brought the flavor the eggs didn't. It had some personality. If I had to order again, that's the direction I'd go. Would I go back? I'm on the fence. There are a lot of other things on the menu, and if I'm in the area again--or if there's another location nearby--I might give it another shot. Sometimes you just order the wrong thing the first time. It happens. Bottom line: It's clean. Service is solid. Tacos are well made. But for me? Flavor is king, and the eggs missed the mark. Go check it out for yourself. Your taste buds might fall in love where mine just shrugged. read more

This is straight up simple tex-mex. I haven't been to the other locations, but this location is nice! Cute decor, clean restaurant, fast service, and friendly employees. It just opened two weeks ago! I tried the Tuesday special, chicken flautas, which came with rice, beans, and a fountain drink. I also got an order of chips and queso which was recommended to me by the kind employee behind the counter. They have a complimentary salsa bar with tomatillo salsa, mild red salsa, and jalapeño ranch. The meal came out to roughly $15 and probably is enough food for two whole meals!! The chicken flautas were made with juicy shredded chicken and crisped perfectly. They were crunchy without being overcooked and piping hot when I received them. They were topped with lettuce, tomato, and an amazing spicy avocado ranch. As if that alone wasn't delicious enough, the queso was thick and flavorful and a perfect pairing to the light and crunchy tortilla chips. They really killed it with the chips and queso! It was so good and my favorite part of the meal. The close runner up was the jalapeño ranch dip. Holy cow was it good! Honestly the whole meal was delicious and I will soon be back for more! They also serve alcohol and all-day breakfast!!! Try this place out the next time you want some quick and delicious tex-mex!! read more

Place is super close by so I decided to stop by, food was made quick. I payed $21 for 4 tacos and a drink, not sure I would want to pay that much again. Tacos weren't very flavorful, there was nobody in the restaurant so there was a dead vibe. I know this place just opened but I'm not sure I would go back. I really wanted to like it so that's unfortunate, maybe the breakfast tacos are good? read more

I've been to a few Taco Joints around Dallas and they never disappoint. The Lakewood location has a big lively bar and this location has a comfortable dining area with old 70's and 80's records on the walls. The tacos are always good and made fresh the way you want them (I'm super picky so enough said). The place is always clean, well stocked on napkins, sodas, plastic ware and the manager always talks us into chips and salsa. I hit this place about twice a month. You should too! read more

The street tacos are good. I also has the chips and salsa which were decent. Now the real hidden gem is the jalapeño ranch salsa that's at their salsa bar. I got 4 small cups of that and poured it on my tacos and use it to dip my chips in. The jalapeño ranch dip is great!!! read more
