If you ever have a craving for Americanized Mexican fast food that is delicious and not too heavy, Taco Casa is your jam! The elegance of TC is its simplicity. Things are just not too complicated around here, and I think that gives them the focus to concentrate on delivering a delicious and consistent product every time. You will never see some limited edition Frankenstein menu item collab with some overly processed food brand. Taco Casa knows it's got a winning repertoire and sticks to the classics. All of TC's menu items are basically a combination of taco meat, frejoles, cheese, red sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and different tortillas/ taco shells/ tostadas. The menu features photos of the items and let me tell ya, the items always look exactly as they are pictured. You never have to order "extra" anything because you always get the exact item from the picture. One of my favorite items is the excellent Taco Salad. It's in a deep fried flour tortilla bowl with all the taco fixins and salsa. I love this because it always tastes fresh and it's such a hearty portion, I can make 2 meals out of it. Everything I've ever tried at Taco Casa has been great, so it's pretty safe to say you could close your eyes and randomly choose something and you'd be happy with it. A lot of care is taken when packing the orders in the drive-thru so extra kudos for that attention to detail. Also, TC is a great value. Their prices are reasonable to begin with but they have "Frijole Fridays" where you can get a bean burrito, frijoles or a tostada for $1.49! This location also has a QR code you can scan in the drive-thru to get location-specific deals sent to you via text. Overall, Taco Casa is an unbelievable value with an excellent product. Man, have i been sleeping on Taco Casa for too long. I've had their tacos before and definitely enjoyed them but i think with Taco Bell locations more accessible i just decided to go the easier route. I will not be doing that any more! Everything about Taco Casa is just so much better. The tortillas are better, the portions are better, and boy do they load up the fillings in those tacos. The service is always fast, i have never had to wait very long during my visits. I also just recently found out they were available on Grubhub so now its even easier for me to just place an order for pick up. Solid crispy taco - filled half way with seasoned meat, a dusting of lettuce and the rest cheddar cheese. The shell is wonderfully crunchy. I'd say they are twice as good as the crispy tacos at Taco Bell. Not sure if I was just super hungry or what, but these just hit the spot! Taco Casa on Midway in Carrollton, TX Around 9:00 PM 01/11/24 Upon arrival, there was a worker standing out back talking loud on the phone while smoking. At the ordering microphone the person taking the order proceeded to rushing us to order. She kept cutting us off throughout the ordering process. When she asked a question regarding the size of the drink we wanted before we could answer she was giving us a price. We get to the window she is on the phone talking to someone that appeared to be someone she knew. I questioned why we were being rushed to order and her tone became very condescending. She negatively deflected the conversation and proceeded to hand my husband a drink as if I was not talking to her. I told her no thank you. A male person walked over as the person. I was talking to took off her head set as if she was about to jump. Funny this is the type of reaction that gets people hurt or worse. As we were driving off she yells out "Get the Fxxk on! I chose not to turn around and handle this in the same manner that complemented her negative and rude attitude. Near perfect for what it is- cheap but delicious Tex-Mex. this location is outstanding as it is clean, has friendly servers, and the food is always hot, fresh and tasty. My hat is off to management and the staff for making my experience enjoyable. While the closest TC to me is on Coit at 190, it's tiny, and inside a gas station. Ugh. We need one at 190 and Jupiter or Renner Rd! We have three Chick-fil-a and they are always busy, a testament to the demand in our neighborhood for quality fast food. read more

Taco Casa is a regional minimalistic fast food Tex-Mex chain. Which has potential, but they could do a lot better. I'll give them credit for reasonable prices, generous portions, fresher than most vegetables, an uncomplicated menu, copious amounts of grated cheddar cheese, proper sour cream (Daisy, if I had to guess) and of course sliced olives (Taco Bell used to have these many years ago). However, they do not have diced onions, pico de gallo, fresh salsa, any chicken, steak, or pork options, Spanish rice, and the queso is basically an analog for cheese whiz. They do have guacamole, but it's made off site, and comes in a super market type container, which is rather dispiriting. Also their drink options are highly limited, with a focus on iced tea. I would think being inspired by Mexican cuisine that they would feature some authentic Mexican sodas or something similar rather than things usually associated with fried chicken establishments. While it's an upgrade when compared to Taco Bell (ingredient wise), it lacks a certain creativity, and key items are vacant from their menu. They have tortillas and cheese, they could certainly make a quesadilla, but perhaps that would mean installing a grill press at every restaurant. If they do this, they could then grill up the Super Burrito (remember the Grilled Stuffed Burrito anyone?), which would add a nice textural element. Overall I would say their best item is really the Super Taco, and that their target audience would be those with a rather basic palate. I would generally consider Taco Bueno to be slightly better, despite their recent troubles. read more

My daughter loves this place and after a few visits with her and on my own I can see why. It's a very streamlined menu, nothing like all the inventions you see on a Taco Bell menu. At Taco Casa they are very generous with the ground beef and with the shredded cheese. Tuesdays and Fridays are excellent days to go to catch their specials. They have a menu item called Chilada that's definitely worth a try. Something that stands out about this location is the friendly, chatty, personable customer service. I was running errands with my daughter while her car was in the shop and she started craving Taco Casa, when we went we received friendly service from employees who seem to really enjoy providing great service. First of all whoever the workers were this night at 8:38 on a Sunday of march 12th 2023 are the worst employees I've ever encountered at any type of fast food industry. I've worked with fast food myself when I got starter jobs as a teenager and I know how all of it works and what not. The customer service they provided was just terrible! There was only our car and another car in the drive through so I know it wasn't because of rush hour anxiety/stress because I know how it gets when you are working a window during rush hour but that wasn't the case at all so I'm not giving no pitty for them! It says the GM is JoJo Guevara on the receipt I don't know if that was the guy at the window I highly doubt it. It was a mixed light skinned male at the window taking our order and a female in the background her name was heather either making the food but also on the mic which I know all employees usually have a head set on to keep track of orders they are making throughout the day/night to keep up the time and what not. We were trying to order and everytime we opened our mouth he interrupted us with the price and was trying to rush us out of the drive through! We couldn't get one thing out of our mouth without getting interrupted then on top of that the attitude he has was just so awful and irritating! He was telling the other car they're price I guess he doesn't know how to mute the mic or something when he's working with both people and shouted out a price again that didn't seem right with us so my husband asked why it was so much and as he's trying to rudely reply the female on the other mic decided to yell over him "he wasn't talking to y'all!!!" Like okay? He could've politely said that to us and then he went on being rude talking about I'm multitasking that's how a person multitask... that was a very smart ass remark well I just want to say if you did know how to multitask which btw with only two people in total you would remember to turn the mic off and not hold the button down to say the other price just fyi you could've done better! But it's understandable as well but not too understanding when you're being a complete ass to your customers! All in all it was just a terrible experience! The food wasn't very good not like the other stores. We only got two super burritos mine was stuffed we 90% refried beans with a table spoon of everything else that goes on it! No sour cream on either one of them if there was it was just a drop... his was just about the same as well it's crazy how poorly wrapped they both were and very poorly made they were the same thing but still seemed very different when you bit into it...? I felt really bad as well because it was my husbands first time trying taco casa and I had told him how great it was and that the burritos were so delicious as well as the sweet tea! But now he says he hates it and never would try it again... which I don't blame him at all I don't want it either! I also have one more thing to say! The sweet tea you guys have the line to put ice at the very top of the cup which leaves the cup filled with all ice and no tea so we are just paying for ice directly. I decided to do a little experiment when I got home to see how much tea we actually get out of the cup so I poured the tea into a small glass separating the ice from the tea and it only filled the small glass up half way!!! I got a large!! That's so crazy. Anyways it was awful the food was awful the employees are rude and awful. Will not be returning or wasting anymore money at this store. A streamlined menu, but everything is good. Never had a greasy or bad meal there. In my opinion, they have the best burrito grande. Everything there is totally fresh, and the staff is really outstanding. I've never gotten a taco shell that smelled oily, was damaged, or less than filled to the top. Burritos are made so they don't explode while you're eating them, and have the RIGHT BALANCE of flavors. Suggestion to boost sales: I would like it if we could get avocado slices or guacamole. To me, there is something so inherently wrong in awarding this many stars to a fast food establishment. As far as it goes, TC puts all the others taco establishments to shame. They stuff their tacos absolutely full of ingredients. Very tasty. We've been there a few times now, and I've had the super tacos, regular tacos, taco salad, pinto beans. All are very good. I'm glad it's away from my house a bit, or I'd be going there weekly! I don't think my waistline could handle that too well. I love this place! On a fast food level, this is as great as it can get. I'm sure they are a chain but got damn it, these guys are so on point! Let's look at why it is. First off, this place is very affordable. This is classic Harold & Kumar white castle binge on a late night snack since it opens late. I ordered the soft taco, regular taco , chili burger and fries. Let me tell you, all of that was great! To the last bite!. All was flavorful and quite delicious. Not to even mention they have other items such as nachos, bean burritos, meat burritos, tostada, frijoles, super burritos, super tacos and more. Very easy to find since it is located on Midway. I really like this location for the convenience so it being taco Tuesday I decided after work I would stop by. I decided to get out instead of going thru the drive thru well I have to say the guy that checked me out looked unkempt and very unprofessional. His hair was not combed or neat and not sure if he was handling food or not. The guy looked like he was under the influence of alcohol or marijuana as his eyes were bloodshot red and he was incoherent and moving slow. This is bad business. Ha! This is like the Mecca of Taco Casas--similar to that McDonald's up in Frisco that is super-fancy. If you're accustomed to the normal Taca Casa in outlying suburbs, especially in the Westoplex ("the AFFORD-able side of the Metroplex"), you'd be like me upon walking in to this one that is bigger, more spacious, super-clean (well, TC is normally pretty clean anyway), and a big fancy ordering station. As usual, the Tex-Mex fast food here is above par and is totally what Taco Bell *should* be. Tip for newbs: the menu is laid out so that you see their more expensive offerings, like the Super Taco and Taco Lite each for something like $2.39 or more. Only after many trips did I happen to notice the little side menu tucked away all down there with humble, plain font listings of "taco" for $1.29 or whatever. All of it is great, though! By the way, the "taco lite" does not mean a smaller taco or in some way lesser calories--it refers to the crunchy taco shell that is a much lighter, flakier fried tortilla instead of the normal corn crunchy one. I could be biased because Taco Casa originated in Weatherford, where I'm from, but I can actually say I loooove TacoC. I moved away to central TX for a few years and missed it way too much! I always go for the bean burritos. The tortillas are always super soft, never soggy, they know how to pile on the cheese, and they even use real verde salsa on the burrito (I always ask for spicy.) The mild sauce is delicious too. Also, they always package up food in paper trays so your food gets home looking good, not squished. This is one of my favorite fast food places. When I moved over here I was so excited and sad at the same time there was one so close to me. Excited because I can grab a taco lite and only have to drive 5 minutes. Sad because I don't want a big belly. The menu is limited their main items are tacos, tostadas, burritos, nachos and taco salads. I have never been on the inside but it appears to be clean. Even if the line is long they get you in and out. The customer service is good and they definitely don't skimp on the hot sauce. The sweet tea is VERY SWEET. Rude Punk Cashier ruined my first time there, and now I'll never go back. I walk in, and the place is empty. I read the menu a bit and step up to the Black teenage boy at the register, ready to order. He ignored me for the first 2 minutes I was there, busy fighting with the register. Dinner with my daughter via the drive thru and we had to wait but ITS WELL WORTH IT. THEY ARENT STINGY WITH THE INGREDIENTS! The taco beef is legit...wont question if its real at all.
