After a hard day of work, this little place had a lot to offer. Open late, fast and friendly service, not fancy at all but good food. Had their Parrillanda (sampler) plate - $15 - 4 tacos in a variety plus a quesadilla and some guac. Great selection when you dont want to make a decision. For that price point, I expected the plates to be great plus to come with beans and rice, but it didn't. The complimentary beans was nice as well as the little ramekins of salsas and toppings. However, the food wasn't fresh or good. The food definitely needed all the ramekins and extra. I wouldn't go back due to it being overpriced and the low quality of food. Friendly service but food was just ok. Chips and salsa are not served complimentary. We had to order chips and guacamole and that was bland but fresh. Tacos come with meat and everything else is on the side which is fine. Both salsas were liquid type texture and spicy (at least for our tolerance). I ordered 2 tacos de pastor which were small but tasty and 1 sopes de bistek. That was tasty but be aware they don't make them as I have typically had them. It's served like a thick tortilla which you have to fold like a taco. Not really complaining but just not what I expected. I personally enjoy the cake make of mais and this was nowhere near that. Just know when you order. Lastly, this place does not have rice, only black beans which were very flavorful. Overall, I give it 3/5 but it's not somewhere I care to come back to. read more

It's been a while since eating here, but the last two times I have it's still as good as it was. Very small place with really friendly staff and good food. Tacos and tortas are delicious. We came here on a hot summer day and we were pleasantly surprised of how good the food was. From the cold and perfectly sweetened horchata to the tacos, everything tasted amazing. Definitely get the pastor tacos with cheese, bacon and jalapeños grilled, personally I prefer to add quite a bit of the lime juice to cut through the meatiness and cheese, and also top with cilantro onions and the red salsa. Red salsa is much spicier than the green one. Both are really good. If I can ask for one more thing, I would just wish that they didn't keep the cilantro out for too long. You can tell when cilantro sits out and start to dry up and get wilted. Our waitress was very attentive and food came out within 10 minutes. The complimentary black bean soup was flavorful and light. If you love, small family, Mexican restaurants, this is certainly a great stop. Food was above average and prices are very reasonable. The service was quite attentive, but not intrusive. I had the nachos which are typically a favorite when I try out a new Mexican restaurant. These were the full plate kind instead of the pile of chips with Velveeta sauce over the top, which is more to my liking . Great place for lunch or an early dinner. Take the whole family. They are certainly welcome. It looks like they want my review to be a little longer. Let me add that they can see large and small parties as the tables are four top, which can be put together to see 8 to 12. It is casually decorated and a very warm and welcome place to have dinner. Visiting the DFW and found this place. Prompt service. Food was great. I had the Parrillada Tizon, my wife had the Gringa and my son had the chicken quesadilla. All of it was delicious! The location of this place is a shopping center, so there's quite a bit of parking! I'm going to be honest this place doesn't look like much, but boy is everything top tier! Although, the staff mainly speaks Spanish they were all so kind and patient. The bathroom was clean. Anytime the stove/kitchen are visible it gives me a certain level of comfort because I can see the food being prepared! I ordered street tacos with corn tortillas and steak, so yummy! Plenty of parking and only a few people sitting inside. It's a small place with several tables and 3 wait staffs. Our server was very nice and offers great services. We were served with a black beans bowl complimentary to your meal orders. A condiment trey comes with limes , hot and mild sauce , cilantro and onions. Excellent service! This is a taco house so don't be surprised. You get the best black bean soup you will ever eat and delicious condiments when you sit down. They ran out of menudo when my husband got there but they were kind and made sure we got a small bowl after our dinner because she heard we came there specifically for the menudo. I saw the reviews and thought why not try this place. Overall the customer service was great except for the cashier who decided to stare strangely while I paid my bill. The meat on the tacos were good. However, I do not agree with the skimpy misleading "large" guacamole. I paid $8.50 and I expected to see a large guacamole. It was the same portion you pay at Chipotle for $5.85 which includes the chips. Needless to say it only was the portion lacking but it's definitely lacking flavor and I eat guacamole at least 2times a day. I have been ripped off. read more

I love El Tizoncito! However limited, their menu is just perfect. Their dishes are not greasy at all. I like how they provide all the condiments as a cute little display on your table, but even after adding almost all of them to the tacos, that didn't help. Im a corn tortilla girl and the ones on these were hard as I don't know what.
