In a world with an abundance of fast casual food options, Dig Inn stands out for the variety of healthy options and unique "sides" comprised of in-season produce. I'm a big fan of Dig's farro base option, with charred chicken, which are consistently tender boneless thighs pieces. The hardest part is deciding which of their rotating vegetables to order. Sweet potatoes are always a great option, as are roasted beets. But sometimes spicy brussel sprouts or lemony broccoli will catch my eye. The bowls can sometimes be a bit dry, so don't pass on the chance to add a couple of sauces, such as the herbaceous pesto or garlic aioli. I just wish they would stop putting the plastic sauce containers inside the bowl - that can't be sanitary. Please just leave it on the side - don't touch my sauce container and then bury in my food. read more

We had never been to Dig before and now we wish there was one in every city. The service was great, we had a nice gentleman take care of us very patiently as we were first timers, while he kept taking online orders and seeing new customers too. We made a build your own plate. The Mac and the chicken were the standouts, but the sweet potatoes were sooo yummy almost like a dessert. Just taking a point off because the carrots were a little too seasoned with rosemary or thyme or one of those. But still good. This is one of the best fast casual places we've been too. Food here is fine. Showed up at around 7:45 on a Sunday to place a carry out order. The gentleman making the bowls made my food without gloves and was very impatient with my questions... I had explained to him it was only my second time here so I wasn't very familiar with the food or the process, and there's no menu or guidance clearly visible to those ordering. Apple Maps and the door shows the store was open until 9. He let me know they were closing in bout 15 minutes while impatiently making my food. He also only gave me one sauce. The cashier apologized for the other guy's behavior and also made sure I got a second sauce, which I know is supposed to come with the food. My first experience here was super great. Placed an online order and the guy at pickup helped me out and made my food early and had a great attitude. This second time, not so much. All hours of operation at any establishment should ensure a similar level of service from open to close. I think some additional customer service training might be helpful for some of the team members here, where positive feedback should be reinforced on those who provide great service. read more

UGH DIG, I wish you existed in Seattle- this is one place I really miss from Boston. A proper meal- with healthy grains, greens, veggies.. well cooked chicken or fish that's not fried.. it's a dream! I had an amazing lunch today from Dig Inn. Another in the long line of "assemble-to-order" style quick lunches, you pick a base, some add-ins and a protein. Easy enough. On a weekday, the place was PACKED and the queue extended through the restaurant and to the entrance. Maybe 40 people but it did look like it was moving with regularity. There are menus to pick up and study as you proceed through the queue so that you're hopefully prepared when you get to the start of the foods. And they have a nice bucket to drop them in to be reused. Easy! I chose a base of greens, the broiled chicken, sauteed asparagus and the broiled cucumbers. Topped with a vinaigrette dressing and a little bit of sriracha, it was awesome. Delicious, loaded with flavor and very filling. I would definitely suggest getting the app and ordering it ahead of time so you can skip the queue and be ready to roll. read more

Felt like the food was fresh, (especially the colder stuff like the salad) but the carrots/meat balls were not as a warm as should be. So happy Dig Inn opened a location Downtown because I never made my way to Back Bay to try it's first location. Got a brown rice bowl with grilled organic tofu, sauteed broccoli with lemon, red potato with string beans, and house-made sriracha and garlic aioli sauces. It was more than enough to fill me and the garlic aioli was really good - but if anything less of an aioli and more of a garlic hummus texture with the taste of a garlic sauce that is typical to what you get from other Mediterranean restaurants. 1 protein + 1 base + 2 sides + sauces = $10.50 - that's a steal to me in terms of taste, quality, and healthiness. This a health-conscious place. Everything on the menu is super fresh. You choose your base (rice, salad, etc) and add 2 toppings and a protein. The charred chicken thighs were really tasty but a little oily. The food was good but kind of boring. They have sauces you can put on which adds some flavors but I wish they sides were already flavorful. Dig inn is by far one of my favorite quick dinner type of places. The ability to build a bowl that has your base of choice along with sides and protein in my opinion makes it better than any other places where the grain bowl comes mixed with all of your ingredients. There's a wide selection of deliciously cooked veggies served both hot and cold. Only drawback of this location is that there is limited seating, compared to similar stores in the area. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE that this is a "fast food" option in the city, and I do plan on coming back sometime very soon. When we walked in I was excited to see actual silverware, and glasses neatly situated on a shelf, as well as trash and recycle cans that were labeled and tidy. The entire place looked clean and well kept up with, and our servers were both polite and helping guide us along with our orders. I ordered the Farrow with butternut squash, buffalo potato salad, candy striped beets, half an avocado, and grilled tofu. The grilled tofu, may be a new addiction to be honest, and it reheats well. The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the flavor was probably at it's peak. The potato salad was made with golden fingerling potatoes, with just the right amount of spice, though I'd have liked a bit more sauce. Beets in general are a favorite, and I loved this candy stripe version as well. I'd never had farrow before, and it was wonderful! It kind of tasted like early fall, which was unexpected, but pleasant. read more

This is my favorite fast-casual food chain. I ordered the salmon, with a rice base and the kale Cesar and Brussels sprout sides. When ordering the salmon, they make it fresh, so it does take an extra five minutes or so for them to cook it up-- but it's definitely worth the wait. Just $12 for the whole bowl, all delicious. This is the greatest and best place in the world. Since first discovering Dig Inn at this location, I have literally returned here on most days. I must have went six months straight at first! I honestly don't believe you will ever get tired of the food here. Simply observing the crew here takes away from the loneliness of my own life. They gracefully prepare the highest of quality meals with an honest smile. Some items are seasonal while others will remain year round, however, all ingredients are of the highest grade, and are articulately assembled to create a beyond-invigorating addition to the entire meal.
