When working in the city I am looking for good tasty food that is convenient! I didn't realize this place was so close. After looking over their menu online i chose the street corn bowl which featured farro as the grain. I added steak and guacamole to the dish. the heat from their magic sauce is yummy but not over powering! Farro was cooked well. Steak had nice char but not over done! The food is delicious. The app is easy/ flawless (even for technically challenged me!) But what's most impressive at this location is the customer service. They are extremely friendly, and always appear to be working hard to keep customer wait to a minimum. And most recently (first time it happened), they got my order wrong. I ate an entire original size wrap and it was just right. *** 6/2016 *** The original Goloco bowl was a bit too much for me, but the pork carnitas and veggies galore were good choices. Their beets are now cut into smaller pieces - fine for eating in a salad or bowl, but less easy to stab at one by one. *** 1/2018 *** Didn't realize they had broccoli 2 ways till today! Charred, and steamed! And if you want, they can melt some cheese straight on your wrap! Neato! *** 3/2018 *** Whoa, their set up has changed! Now you pay at the end! Like all Bolocos, very good. But super crowded at lunch-- use the automated thingies or order online to skip the line. The plus of the automated thingies is that you can specialize your order pretty nicely -- add cilantro, use low-fat this, extra guac, etc. It allows you to see what your options are and what costs extra and what is included. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE AND LOVE THE STAFF!!!! ESPECIALLY TOM!!!! HE'S AWESOME! What can I say about this place....well all of their food is great. I'm trying to try all of the burritos on the menu. The one thing about this place is you can custom order your burrito (which I do) and add or take off things or just GO LOCO and create your own creation. The lines are very long so if you go around lunch time I would advise to go before noon or after 12:30. Then you should be okay they get you in and they get you out lickety split!!! So come here if you are a fan of Chipotle....this is a pretty good contender! P.S. To the guy who complained about the nutritional value.....um you can make a nutritional meal out of it. OR don't be a pig and order the mini size you dipwad!!!! And they do have a healthy option it's called the house balsamic which is a veggie salad! There were two occasions where my burrito was made incorrectly and a follow up email to the manager resulted in a couple free burritos for myself and a catered lunch for 10 in my office! WHAT?! I had maybe twelve minutes to eat lunch, and I wanted to feed myself all the way to the top so I wanted burrito. Hi Boloco that is not far away. I paid $7 for the spiciest burrito they had, something about mangoes and habanero. By the time I walked down the line, pointed at the steak I wanted to be inside me, and sniffed delicious smells, there was a burrito in my hand. I liked that so much. My burrito was very tasty in the meat department (+), it was not spicy (-), light in the sauce department (-), and had rice in it (-). I didn't have time to mess around, so I got it how it comes, but next time (I will certainly be going back) I will say no rice. Seriously, that space could be filled with beans just as cheaply and my smile would be wider, and covered in bean casings! Picture it... awesome! I'm not saying it wasn't good though, because despite my being picky it was very tasty. All the signage had a "hey dude, man" sort of cutesy corporate marketing feel that was kind of fun, and actually useful in figuring out how to order. Boloco is a stroke of deliberate genius. Just when I was losing hope that Boston could create a decent burrito, Boloco swoops in and saves the day like some sort of superhero covered in foil! There is usually a line (it moves fast, don't stress out), but it gives your a minute or two to look at the menu. I didn't want any of the pre-created burritos on the menu, as they all looked too fussy for a girl who should probably wear a bib while eating anything with sauce. I went for the make your own burrito route. Boy oh boy am I glad I did! Things I love about Boloco: 1. WHEAT TORTILLAS! Wooooooo hoooooo! my conversation with the ultra-friendly cashier went a little something like this, Cashier "Would you like a white or wheat tortilla?" Can-D "WHAT?! OMG! You have wheat tortillas!?! You're my hero!" Cashier, "erm... so you'd like a wheat tortilla?" 2. Brown rice. The conversation about brown rice was eerily similar to the conversation about wheat tortillas. 3. Different sized burritos! Woo! I'm always starving at lunch, and a fat kid, so I get the biggest one, but I like that I have the option to go a different direction. 4. Attractive, professional men eat lunch here. Okay, I know this has nothing to do with food, but what could POSSIBLY make your meal better than a little eye candy? Things I don't love about Boloco, but secretly don't care because the food is still delicious: 1. The salsa is not NEARLY spicy enough. Granted, I am the kind of gal who likes to feel like her lips are burning off, but I would give the 'hottest' habanero salsa a medium rating. At best. 2. I actually don't like the burritos here that much; too many early experiences ordering food with the vague impression it would be sort of Mexican-ish and being sourly disappointed. I warmed to Boloco when I figured out that you aren't supposed to get anything Mexican-ish. Just enjoy an outlandish wrap (I usually get buffalo chicken with extras), and perhaps order a somewhat pricey but excellent milkshake. Even though I think Boloco is just ok foodwise, I go there frequently because they're fast and have a good rewards program. As for speed, you can order online and pick up your food even at the height of the lunch rush. Their site always says that the order will be ready in 15 minutes, but I find it's always much faster than that. Only once have I beaten them to the counter from my 19th floor office--and that one time, they were just wrapping it up. The only negatives to ordering online is that you can't pay with LevelUp--oh, and you might feel a little sheepish demanding your burrito when tons of people are standing in line. You can't get a faster lunch at peak rush. As for the rewards, Boloco has their own reward card and further allows you to pay with LevelUp. The Boloco card give you a burrito every $50, and LevelUp pays the standard 10% ($10/$100). A large burrito has a rack price of $7.75, but the post-rewards effective approaches just over $6 in the long run, which is pretty good. Moreover, Boloco occasionally runs promotions for additional "freebies." For example, if you buy a burrito tomorrow and save your receipt, you can get another free next week. So in conclusion, Boloco's not my favorite lunch, but I'm a sucker for their speed and promotions. read more

The main problem I have with this place is the size of the burrito. I feel like I can eat two super without a problem. So the price I'm paying for and what I'm eating is the biggest rip of all. I had a bit of an issue from awhile back, and sent them a quick note via the "contact us" link on their website. Surprisingly, they got back to me...and fast, solving the problem and then some! Boloco is a local company, and they really do care about customer feedback. I've also seen them at many an event in Boston, giving out free burritos. So instead of writing them a poor review after a mishap or incorrect order or such, send them a note first (or Twitter, i suppose, although I find that quite impersonal) and let them know. Boloco has been a favorite lunch (and occasionally dinner) spot of mine since it changed it's name from "The Wrap." Something to keep in mind, is that this place really isn't Mexican-- and it isn't meant to be. Boloco stands for "Boston Local Company." If you want Mexican, go to Anna's, Boca Grande, Felipe's, or Chipotle (Qdoba if you're really stuck). Boloco has The Classic, which is Mexican style, but again, they are not meant to be a Mexican place. Mexican influenced might be the category. Boloco is a place for people who love burritos, but may want some more variety, hence their "inspired burritos" slogan. Their meat is of the highest quality, and as with all of their ingredients, it's always freshly prepared. I've tried most of their burritos, and The Teriyaki is a favorite of mine. It is prepared with carrots, broccoli, caramelized onions and brown rice on a whole wheat tortilla drizzled with their tasty teriyaki sauce. The portions are very generous. A "regular" is only $5 and is plenty of food for an average lunch. The large is only a dollar-and-change more, and is substantially larger. Plus, they offer freshly baked cookies for only 99 (note: they are usually a crunchy, so if you like chewy cookies, look elsewhere-- still, these are tasty and fresh). I used to be a very frequent Boloco customer back when I lived in a town where it was pretty much the only burrito option. Now that the fast casual burrito wave has washed across the country, you can get a decent burrito pretty much anywhere and Boloco is not as good as some of its competitors. I do like that they have some non-Mexican style options (i.e. wraps), but they seem to be more about novelty than anything else. Their classic burrito isn't terrible, but its not exactly bursting with flavor either. I suppose that's a result of trying to shoehorn the same protein and grain options into a bunch of different cuisines. read more
