BBQ Pork Banh Mi, no cilantro, no cucumber. Fabulous!

The banh mi was excellent. The baguette was so soft and the meat was well seasoned. Picked daikon and carrot is fresh and crunchy. Definitely a must try.

I actually thought I was going into Penny's. I was so hungry, I didn't even look at the sign! Friendly hello, as I looked over the menu. Me: So much to choose from, I can't decide. What do you recommend? She: The lemon grass chicken combo is popular. Me: Then that's what I'll have. There's a small cozy dining room, and I ate it there. They have a number of soft drinks to choose from. She brought out my meal and handed me an orange pineapple Hawaiian Sun. There were three sauces: fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sweet chili pepper. I poured the fish sauce over the vermicelli, shrimp and vegetables. The chicken was delicious! Just the right hint of lemon grass and tender. Everything worked well together, and I dipped my egg roll into the sweet chili. This was probably the healthiest meal I've had all week, especially the vegetables. I also liked the basil leaves with the salad. Definitely worth coming to! This was a happy and delicious mistake! Mahalo Diem!

Super roll!!! Coworker raves about it and it was yummy! Spring roll in summer roll! The wrapper was delicious and warm!

99 Diem Cafe used to be locate in the Ranch/ Moanalua 99. They now have two locations! The Sand Island location is in the former spot of Sand Island Chop Suey next to Subway and another location at Pearlridge Shopping Center. I've tried their sandwiches and oxtail soup at the precious location, but It wasn't until after I've tried the super roll at this location, I fell in love with the rolls and kept ordering it! They have a lot variety of selection on the menu but I really like their Super rolls! The chicken spring roll was in the summer roll all sliced like a maki sushi. The wrapper was so soft and even if the spring rolls were fried, it felt like I'm eating something healthy wrapped around with vermicelli noodles, possibly basil and rice wrapper on the outside! So yummy with the fish sauce or hot sauce for some. I could eat all twelve super rolls! I managed to save some for Mom. No other restaurants seemed to have this special so when I have the chance, I would stop by to get some!!! It' was something different and so good! I wanted to try other items on the menu but I keep getting the Super rolls!! Try it, I know you will like it too!

Located at Sand island just off the Mauka bound at the Diamond head side of Sand Island access road, here is this little shop with a few tables inside, I want a Vietnamese sandwich and I call to placed my order, friendly staff, sandwich ready I just 5 to 10 minutes. The sandwich is well packaged and they accept credit card payment even for just a sandwich. There are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the area but lot of them do not offer sandwiches any more. There is not much parking in front of the restaurant so you may have to wait for the parking.

Love how this place is close to work! I went to their new Sand Island location. They used to be in the 99 Ranch building. I got their lemongrass chicken banh mi and their bbq pork and spring rolls vermicilli noodles. Everything is delish here! Don't forget to try their taro tapioca dessert too!

As they greeted me with a smile I excitedly questioned them about the vegetables on this sandwich. I was halfway through my sandwich when I remembered to take pictures. It was so good and flavorful. Highly recommend if you don't consume meat. Probably grab another before heading to the airport.

Trying a new food place, Diem 99 Cafe--Pearlridge Food Court Phase II. Whammoo! --for sure a return visit is warranted! I tried s Bahn Mi Barbecued Chicken sandwich. Deliciously different from other chicken sandwiches I've tried. You're digitally signaled when your order is ready for pickup. Phase II food court, brightly lit, offer a variety of good options. Lots of booths for comfortable visiting, setups for large group or counter seating. This place was busy! I can't wait to return to try other menu items!

I've been coming here since they were in the old 99 Ranch. I believe the Super Roll is new to their menu because I don't remember them having this at their old location. It's basically a spring roll wrapped in a summer roll. Genius! I highly recommend it if you're a fan of spring rolls. I also recommend their lemon grass Banh Mi. Delicious. The service is always good each time as well. I don't care much for the new location, but I imagine it's a great spot for business, especially with all the big truckers going back and forth in the area.

Yay for reopening after their closing at Ranch\Moanalua 99! My faves are their super rolls and lemon grass bánh mi!

Located next to the Subway on Sand Islnd Access Road. Parking can get tricky at times especially during the lunch hours. If you're not lucky you get a big truck parked right in front d your parked car and you end up waiting till they come back and move. Otherwise, I believe this is the same Diem Cafe from 99 Ranch. The restaurant is clean and has a nice lit atmosphere. Also they have indoor dining so that's a plus if you wanna eat in. Their menu is quite extensive. Prices are reasonable. Plates are portioned well and you do get full! I'm glad theirs a Bahn Mi joint close to work now.

So happy to have 99 Diem Cafe back! Great food and good service, but now they've added breakfast in support of the Sand Island location customer base too! Glad to be able to pick-up Super Rolls to munch on again... Love, love, love it! The new location has parking stalls in front for easy pick-up of take-out orders, and there's a small seating area for customers to eat in.

    Nice new menu board

NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS FOR THEIR NEW LOCATION AT PEARLRIDGE WAI MAKAI FOODCOURT. (Can't pull it up on Yelp as a separate location.) Have been eyeing the space with the sign saying "coming soon" between Yummy's and Sbarro for weeks. Finally! We visited Friday afternoon 8/4 and they were open! They have a pager to let you know when your food is ready. We ordered take out even though we were eating there just in case we wanted to take some food home. Turns out we ate it all. Daughter had the spring rolls on vermicelli cold noodles. They sliced the spring rolls thinly and she liked that. I had the beef and beef ball pho meal, which comes with two spring rolls. Everything tasted good. Not outstanding, but good basic Vietnamese food. Pho broth was good and nice and hot. Pho noodles and some cooked bean sprouts were in a separate container from the broth. Basil (two types - see picture) and more raw bean sprouts were in a plastic bag, along with a slice of lime. Noodles were properly al dente so they wouldn't disintegrate when added to the hot broth. No idea why they gave both cooked bean sprouts and raw, but that wasn't a problem. They gave plenty of noodles but not enough basil. (Next time I'll just ask for more in lieu of all that bean sprouts.). They didn't give enough sauce. It was as if they gave for only one entree, but we asked for and got more plum sauce. They also give chili oil. No jalapeños for those that care. Overall. a good meal. Very filling. Nice to have Vietnamese food at Pearlridge again, it's been a really long time. Would return here again.

The food is unbelievable! Sometimes there's a line out the door, but the team is efficient--so always wait! This location is in Chinatown on Maunakea. If you're lucky, you can snag a metered parking spot nearby. Pho Que Huong is super clean, and I love how they decorate for holidays. Family-owned, this local business is very welcoming. Plenty of tables. Clean restrooms for paying customers. The food and drink are made with utmost care. The produce is always fresh and clean. The pho broth is unmatched. Not too sweet, lovely and aromatic. Portions are generous for the price point. Vietnamese coffee is a must! Strong and sweet--yum! The spring rolls even taste "healthy" here in that they're not too oily, and made with fresh ingredients. The customer service is always on-point, whether eating in or taking out. Note: They do not offer XL size for takeout. I think it's sweet they don't advertise otherwise, since they don't have the proper containers for that amount of food. The service here is quick and efficient. And even though they can get really busy at times, they're still cranking out the food and beverages in a timely manner. As for the food, it's definitely comforting and delicious. The different pho broths (chicken, beef, etc) are all just right, not too oily, not too salty. I didn't even have to add in any condiments to enhance the flavor. The Banh Xeo is a huge portion, that can be shared amongst a party of 2-4. Street parking is located right out front, there's also a parking structure out back, with an entrance into the establishment directly from the parking structure. I will definitely be coming back here for more!

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. They have very trendy seating styles. We were seated in a wooden booth. The booth chairs were so far away from the table, there was no way you'd be able to eat without sitting on the edge of the bench haha. But very spacious for 4 people! The waitress was prompt with bringing our water, taking our order and bringing our food out. They have a little lazy-Susan style sauce/condiment platter on each table which was nice for the pho. The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! Since they're located in the same building as ward theaters, there's an entire parking structure for you to park in, for free! So don't worry about parking. If you're in the area, I'd suggest trying this place out!

We ordered banh mi, rice noodle w bbq pork and spring roll, and banh bao. The food came out really fast and was beautiful and delicious. The vermicelli was the best - I could eat that every day. We were both stuffed when we left. We took the bus so I'm not sure about parking. The dining room is modest with just a few tables, nothing fancy. Those are usually the best places anyway.

You got plenty to choose from even with picky eaters so you're going to find something for everyone here IMO. We opted for the pho noodle soup and the dry hu tieu which is like a noodle dish with side soup. Flavors were amazing and were only enhanced with their house made lemongrass oil which you can self serve. The place is a bit small but we were lucky to get seated immediately on a Friday lunch. Would love to come back here over and over on my trip, but may have to make decisions since there's so much food to try! The restaurant is a peaceful serene like place and has that Chinatown like theme, showing maybe the age of the place so don't expect modern classy vibes. Also there may be a bit of a language barrier so if you can speak even a little Vietnamese, maybe try pulling it out. Otherwise, just point to the dish on the menu to order! They do accept card here btw. Parking is Chinatown so try the municipal lots for cheapest option, street parking is also possible.
