Decided to grab a quick bite before I headed to the airport and did a quick Yelp search to find Did's Pizza. Luckily I got there just before 8 PM as they were about to close. The owner greeted me and said they were closing and could still get some slices. I got the Pepperoni and Mushroom Garlic. The crust was just right and crispy to the bite. The cheese was nice a chewy with fresh toppings that went well with their tomato sauce. I talk to the owner and found out that they are normally closed on Sundays but open because they had a large catering order so decided to keep the store open that day for a few hours. Turns out the owner has run the restaurant since 1983, and pointed to a few pictures of him back in the day that were hanging on the wall. Overall, excellent Pizza and value for money as the slices were large, hot and about $4/slice. read more

I've visited this pizza place several times over the years, and while the owner claims he has the 'best pizza in the world'--yes, he actually said that to me--my experience was quite the opposite. The slices are often lukewarm or have been sitting out for a while, and the pizza is consistently flavorless with an undercooked, doughy crust, which is a dealbreaker and frankly, disgusting. I even asked for it to be heated extra, but he refused with attitude. If you're drunk after coming out of the railway club and don't mind flavorless pizza with an undercooked, doughy crust, it might work for you. Otherwise, I'd recommend skipping this place and trying any of the other local pizzerias instead. For a better slice, check out Brooklyn Pizza, Nat's, or Ignite Pizza--each offers a tastier experience. read more

Did's Pizza is an icon in Vancouver! Mr Did took off for Cali in the mid 90s & had tremendous success there! Check out the pics of the Stars who've had a slice or two when he was down there. Slick Willy aka Bill Clinton, The Lips aka Julia Roberts, Mr Class aka Obama & on & on. It's a trip back in time when you step into this small pizza joint. I could not honestly recall if I'd had Did's back in the early 90s when it was located on the other side of downtown, but after one bite - I was sure glad he was back in Vancity! To be be honest pizza is pizza & as the saying goes - even when it's bad, it's still pretty good! I'm not saying it was bad what I am saying is that - it's pizza! Best pizza in Vancouver hands down. Great Sicilian slices and some really solid vegan options. AND fresh grated parm on request? Can't compete. Mr Did himself is super charming, and service is always great. Used to go to school nearby and was coming in at least once a week for a slice of pesto. If I live closer I'd still be coming in once a week, but for now it's a treat when I'm downtown. read more

Looking for nice, real handmade pizza? Look no further. My Girlfriend and I were in town for the weekend and were in the mood for pizza. We ordered a whole pie with Pepperoni, mushrooms and Serrano peppers. It was very good. It was Light on the sauce, heavy on the cheese, and was really cooked nicely on the bottom. Maybe a little doughy. If you want a good, "normal" pizza, this place has it, but if you want a modern twist, look elsewhere. Also, don't you dare ask for ranch. read more

Came here with a colleague after work. We got each got the pesto pizza. We had to wait 6 mins for it but we were not in a rush so we did not mine waitng. Lots of students come here at night. The good thing is that this place opens very late. The pizza is made with real cheese. So tasty. I liked the crispy bottom crust. They have a fancy oven that that make the pizza out of. Its not a fancy pizza place but it will do. On top we also got pasta with shrimps. Prices are good. Good pasta and you have to eat it hot. The owner is super nice and friendly. read more

The owner(?) seems to work alone and has a great attitude. I came by while some Japanese and Taiwanese people were waiting on a whole order. The man knew some phrases in Japanese and Mandarin and had fun with the customer. I ordered a slice of the pesto pizza. Unfortunately the flavor was a tad too noticeable on a bitter note and wasn't my favorite spice. It was however very crispy and got a good amount of grated cheese added. Formerly the location of a Freshslice, it looks like they now offer $1 Sicilian slices. Parking isn't really available here, unless one wants to pay more for that than the actual pizza. The interior has a vintage theme, and had some photographs of what looked like old Italian celebrities. The owner was friendly and chatty. The pizza was a bit thin, but can't really complain for $1. Light but decent toppings. read more

I came by tonight to grab two Large pizzas for 19.95$ as stated on Yelp deal when checking in but I got very disappointed when the french guy inside told me they didn't use Yelp and that deal wasn't existing. I'm not sure why it's still advertised here though but it's pretty frustrating. Business should take care of their page and remove it. We stopped here for a slice of pizza - randomly walking by. We didn't expect much looking at the place and the guy behind the counter wasn't the friendliest. However.... To our surprise... It was one of the best pizza slices we've had outside of New York city. I had just a pepperoni slice and it just the right amount of crunch. Definitely recommend this place. When I called into to find out how long the order would take, I was told unapologetically that someone took control of their website and they didn't have my order. I placed the order again over the phone and asked for a side of ranch. The call got rude at that point. Don't ask the for a side of anything. When I went to pick up the pizza I was informed by the manager that their pizza is the absolute best in VC. Overall we found the pizza to be below average and the experience was not good. Welcome to 2016... where cell phones exist, where landlines are being phased out and people are vacationing in Vancouver!!!! My husband and I were staying at an Air B&B and really hungry. Vacationers BEWARE!!! DID'S won't deliver to you if you are not NATIVE to Vancouver! Did's happened to be one of the places still left open past 9 pm and the website stated that they were still delivering. We call from our cell phones as the Air B&B did not provide us with a landline. The guy at the pizza parlor states that our phone number is not from Canada or from Vancouver and he won't deliver. We explain to him that, yes we are from out of town and yes our number is from New York however we are vacationing in Vancouver, staying at a Vancouver address and would like a pizza delivered. He stated and I quote, "That's not happening" I don't know maybe business is so good that he doesn't need money from out of towners or he just isn't up to serving a New Yorker his pizza because he knows he can't compete. read more

Normally when you're all about thin-crust, neopolitan-style like Pizza Carano & Corduroy Pie, it's easy to miss these indie's but when you have a sandwich board that says "Best Pizza in Town", the Curious George in me just has to find out. For $3 a mega-slice, this is much better & bigger than a Fresh Slice or those Granville holes in the wall--Did's is actually been renovated, and nice, with the classic photos of famous people who have come here. I would rank them in the category of Goldie's, not sit-down restaurants like Carano. Like the pesto, pepperoni & vegetarian in that order. Crust is pillowy soft too. While no street parking in front, plenty on Richards & Seymour. Credit/debit ok. Delivery is available, wished that they had a map to make life easier for everyone. Got a slice of the margherita for lunch today. It was good! The tomato sauce base tastes better than I've had at other places, and the pricing is decent for downtown. But where this place really shines is it's pasta. Despite looking like a typical quick take out pizza place, Mr. Did himself (who is a super nice guy) actually makes a fabulous fettuccine alfredo! It comes loaded with sauce and tons of freshly grated cheese on top. And despite the affordable pricing, the quality is clearly on par with what you'd get at a nice sit down. Not much more you can ask for. read more

Came here before the Glorious Sons show at the Vogue as I wanted a quick bite and some slices while we waited out in the line for the GA SECTION. We got a basic veggie. The crust was super doey and thick which is what I liked for a circumstance like this. It's one of the few times I actually welcome this. The customer service was super friendly and polite. Did makes real pizza. He is proud of his pizza. He will tell you the story of how he learned to make the perfect dough--which I believe he has mastered. The crust is crispy on the bottom, not floppy and limp, and it is flavorful and chewy in just the right amount.
