Ignite pizzas are absolutely fascinating. Few stools available if you want to dine in. The vegan dream (swapped vegan mozzarella for regular mozzarella) was good but it seemed a bit dry. I ordered to-go due to an awesome online deal of buy one get half off the second pizza. I found seating so I enjoyed my pizza inside. It was a bit warm as the shop is small & the oven was nearby. I was downtown waterfront & needed a quick bite. I came across Ignite Pizzeria & thought - why not. IP is located at Harbour Centre via street access at the corner of Cordova & Richards streets. IP stone fires their pizzas to heat them up & uses a low sodium dough, which is good if you've got high blood pressure! I had the Arugula, Sopressata, & Margherita pizzas. Thin crust & easy to chew. The pizza was good but I didn't find it to have that umph factor for me. However, I will go back again & try other flavours. This was a nice surprise from my husband... And boy it was a real delicious pizza! We had the margherita, the pesto chicken, and the arugula. All of the pizza were created using high-quality ingredients, the dough was really nice, thin, not too "bread-y." The pizza had a nice char and bubbling from the wood burning oven. The sauce was just the right amount that the pizza are not soggy from it. bonus point: My husband even ate all of the arugula (he's a carnivore!) I was surprised at the array of vegan and vegetarian options here! This place has two sections of its menu dedicated specially for both vegan and vegetarian pizzas. One slice costs $3.5 including tax - super convenient meal on the go. As a small girl, one slice was enough as a meal for me, although I know one slice will not satisfy most people, since the breading is pretty thin and the size isn't all that large. They put the pizza on display, and when you decide what slice you want, they put your slice into the oven for a few minutes, which softens up the cheese and warms the pizza in a most delicious way. You get the pizza on a paper plate, so if you want to eat it outside the restaurant, you should ask for a box. Quick and simple on-the-go food is sometimes just the solution for those hustle and bustle days. Prices are $3.5 per slice which is fair for food in the area. I'm not usually a grab and go pizza kind of person as I grew up on evenings of hockey games and pizza takeout boxes so it was nice to see a different variety of pizzas (this is for sure no Fresh Slice!) The variety of pizza flavours made it hard to pick just one for a quick bite. Overall, would definitely stop by again to try the other flavours if I'm in the area and craving pizza but I had the pizza for here and there were no utensils are napkins to eat the pizza with.... the staff members had reheated the pizza so it was a little hot to pick up. The toppings are fresh and good quality. It's $3.50 per slice and they're a decent size. The pepperoni deserves a mention - usually I don't get this flavour because it's boring. But my company ordered it in one time and it's got to be one of the best pepperoni pizzas I've ever had. I liked their different olive oils on the side for dipping as it added good flavour. I love, love, love this pizza joint. I can't count how many lunches (and sometimes dinners) this place served me - I work literally across the street, pizza comes fresh from the oven constantly, is super crispy and rich of toppings. Now, I'm Italian born and raised and I can tell that while the dough is Neapolitan-style, the assortment of toppings is more American-style than Italian. I'm not picky though: I generally go for the Fresh Ricotta (veggie-base with a generous scoop of ricotta on top), pepperoni, Giuseppe's choice (deli and bacon and mozzarella) or arugula and mushrooms. I can't wait to visit their restaurant on Main, as this is a hole in the wall. Although pre-covid I gave this Ignite location a very high rating, I picked up a couple of slices for lunch today and the quality has gone way downhill! For example, they used to have a good selection of ready made slices to choose from but now the offering is minimal and the cheese seems to be missing compared to how it used to be. They have even switched the pepperoni to tiny little pieces! While I'm not a fan of Gastown itself (would recommend going to Mount Pleasant instead), I'm a huge fan of Ignite. Sometimes I think I highly rate places when I go in there so hungry that I could eat a bowl of dirt - as a result, the food tastes amazing. Ignite is not this way. I wasn't even super hungry when I went in but I saw their offerings and couldn't resist. I got a slice of the 4 cheese and the arugula and it was super delicious.
