I've been coming here for over 10 yrs and still love their pizza!!! I was relieved to find that they didn't close due to Covid. I always get great customer service courtesy of the owners Glen & Demi. They are great people. So if you happen to be in the area. Give them a try.

This is a fantastic place for cheap eats. Lots of other pizza places in the area, but this is definitely the best. I think it's the dough that really stands out. It makes the crust crispy and chewy, and the pizza itself has the right amount of toppings to cheese. For only $3 a slice, this is a great deal, despite seeing cheaper pizza deals nearby. Don't sacrifice great tasting pizza just to save less than a dollar eating elsewhere. The people behind the counter are super friendly too. Located just around the corner from the Delta hotel, this was a convenient break from all the Japanese food I was eating. I've recommended this to all my out-of-town guests.

Behold! The lunch-time spectacular! You see that lady in the window madly tearing away the stringy melted cheese and wolfing down the hot and steamy pizza? Yup that's me. You can witness this performance weekly, in person too, if you like. Eating a gigantic pizza slice is an art and a challenge to all lady-like manners, especially when the pizza is so *darn* good that I have to resist the urge to re-enacting the orgasm scene from "When Harry Met Sally." Let's run through some analysis: Quality: You get an abundance of freshly-chopped veggies and quality meat toppings that are searing hot - often off-of-the-oven. You can ask for your crust to be customized to thin/thick, regular or garlic! And you must eat it while it is hot so you can savor all that cheesiness from the gooey cheese and the oiliness from the pepperoni slices. If you are worried about the calories, ladies, the walk back to your office after lunch will help burn off your guilt. My only quibble is that I find the crust a bit too doughy sometimes and a bit dry towards the outer edge. Selection: There are the staple ones of course: Pepperoni, Hawaiian, Meat Lover etc. But there are also the Specialty pizzas that I applaud for their creativity and flavor, and here are my favorites: the Black Forest Ham, Cappicollo, and Barbeque chicken that is loaded with BBQ chicken, roasted baby potatoes, layers of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Quantity: Even my meat-terminator friends can only handle two slices, as they are dinner-plate sized and thick with dough. Price: Very decent at $3.50 for two regular topping slices. Specialty pizza for $2.25. Service: The friendly and helpful staff will warm up your pizza without you asking when you order one that has been out of the oven for a while. Ambiance: This is a very cozy and can get very busy during lunch hours. Expect yourself to be rubbing shoulders with armies of languages students, shoppers, and businessmen. If you come here by yourself you'll be entertained with classical music from CBC Radio 1 and a stack-full of daily newspapers. I usually "plan" enough break time in-between my meetings to come down for a piece of food tranquility. Come to think of it, maybe Pizza 2001 should pay me a modeling fee for all the window foodgasm that I've been acting. Cheerio!

Grab a hefty slice at this pizza shop on the corner of Pender & Granville, along the oreo line of cheap pizza and sushi spots. If you like big, satisfying-while-eating-it 'nom-nom' pizzas for cheap, this is a great choice! Chicken BBQ & Potato Pizza, $2.50 (Taxes incl) Big, chunky, and fully loaded with greasy goodness. It's a wee bit more $ than other pizza parlors, but also much bigger with more toppings - well worth it! 3.5 out of 5 because I can definitely see the draw even though quick greasy pizza isn't my thing. What's more: - Regular, Cheese and Garlic, $1.75-$2.00 - Daily Featured Specialty Pizzas, $2.50 - Super friendly staff - Seated area with tables, quite warm, stacked with The Straight

Look for this sign on the corner of Pender and Seymour.

The name sounds like it's an ice cream shop. And they don't have actually have 2,001 flavours, nor is it all that futuristic. What they do have is very good, cheap pizza. It's generally a couple of bucks and change for a slice with a few toppings, rather than the $1.50 that's on the signs. However, unlike other buck-a-slice type pizza places, they use lots of good quality ingredients, i.e. actual slices of pepperoni rather than those little chunks you sometimes see. There are a couple of tables and a counter for eating in. When it gets busy, you'll recognize this place by the lineup out the door at noon, and the happy people standing on the sidewalk eating their economical and tasty pizza lunch.

In town for a short business trip and staying at the Delta. Went for a walk to see what restaurants were nearby! Saw a pizza dive, and started reading the review article they had posted in their window. Apparently a great rivalry between this and the other pizza dive next door. Price cutting each other to under 1$ a slice. With the University right next door, it screams "Location, Location, Location"! These prices were awhile back, but still uber reasonable 1 slice for 2$ So, scrapped my usual search for fine dining and decided to man up and eat a large slice for the whopping $2.26 all in. It 'twas ground beef, onion and hot peppers. Thin crust, short on sauce. If eaten late after a night on the town, I'm sure it would have been amazing. In the late afternoon, it is a solid 3 star pizza. Why a 4 star review you ask? Service was awesome. Offered to heat up my slice without even asking..... And it was freaking $2.26 It's a dive. In this case, that's the way it should be.

Good pizza and thin. They have eight sorts of pizza ranging from pesto, chicken, pepperoni, two cheeses, etc. There are no bathrooms but they do have sitting area. They have pops of your choice: Coca Cola, Pepsi, 7up, Canada Dry, Canada Dry. They have a combo any 2 house pizza slices and one POp for 6,50$. Not the cheapest but good option. I had the pesto and cheese very good. You can sit for too long tho. Eat and leave.

Went at 4pm and they were not busy at all. We opted to sit outside to enjoy the remaining good weather before the winter rains. The pizza was very tasty - crispy light crust and delicious flavorful meats. The sauce wasn't overly seasoned and was just the right amount. Very good pizza and not too expensive.

Both were great! The crust on the Hawaiian was a little better cooked than the other, but nothing that stops you from eating it. The yaletown park is right outside so great place to let kids run while you socialize Nothing too fancy, just a really good pizza place. This will be a good go-to since it's in our neighborhood.

We discovered AJ's while trying to find deep dish or Detroit pizza in Vancouver and all I want to…read moresay is that it is one of the best Detroit pizzas I have had, ever. It checks all of the boxes: thick, chewy, crispy, cheesy, saucy. One of my favorite pizzas is Detroit style pizza, which I actually discovered in Los Angeles, where I tried at no less than five different places. Most were really good, but AJ's Detroit pizza humbled all of the ones that are still there. I could have eaten half of it by myself. (The leftovers re-heated great and were just as satisfying the next day.) Note that AJ's regular pizza is great as well, but don't pass up the opportunity to enjoy their Detroit style.

When the pizza comes straight out of that oven, piping hot and bubbly, it's an absolute revelation. Especially that Detroit style with the frico. Oh, man, is it ever good, and enough that you can cut the abrupt and often rude service some slack. Delivery from AJ's, by contrast, is one of the biggest mistakes you will ever make, as it's often painfully slow (like 90 min-2 hr slow). So, by the time your order arrives, and assuming you received the right order, it's often a lukewarm, rock hard and/or greasy mess and unrecognizable compared to what you can get dining in. For the price, you might as well light the money on fire. I haven't been back in a while because I've made it a rule not to order from here unless I have the time to physically go and eat it there. It is worth it to pay the premium for the product if you're going to consume it within a few minutes of it coming out of the oven. Otherwise, take a pass.

I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pizzas here. They offer a variety of veggie and meat pizzas that can be made with regular crust or deep dish style. We ordered a small deep dish margharita ($19.99) and a medium deep dish butter chicken ($23.99) pizza. Both weren't true deep dish pizzas, but the crust was nice and thick. I'd recommend the pizzas here to anyone who likes a breadier crust. My only minor complaint is that the pizzas didn't have enough sauce to complement the thick crust. The pizzas kept well for leftovers too. They tasted just as good the next day heated up in our toaster oven.
