Terrible way to treat customers. The crabby old man in the bicycle department yelled at my child to stop running... Around the track painted on the ground. A running track. In which he was trying out his shoes, as we were standing right there. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told "well, it's a liability. He could trip." Perhaps don't have a track painted on the ground? Or here is a thought- maybe speak respectfully toward the customers that are there to spend money. He truly didn't need to yell and be so nasty. It's truly not as if my child was being naughty or obnoxious- he was doing what he thought the track was for. Not running into people or bothering anyone. Won't be returning to this location. read more

The name of this store describes the employees very well. First off- it almost seems like the employees avoid you and run and hide when it appears you might need help. Second- everyone I did come into contact with was extremely rude. I needed help with finding a shoe but Richie W. (The employee who helped me after hunting him down for 10 minutes) was incompetent at simply helping me find the shoe I was looking for and his demeanor made me feel like it was a burden to even be asking him for help. Then, I tried the cashier for help (Lucky for him I didn't catch his name) and he wasn't as rude as Richie, but that same demeanor was there. These employees clearly hate working there. In fact, I overheard the employees in the shoe department talking about work... one girl said,"has it been this slow all day"? To which the other male employee replied, "yes thank god.".... After what I saw in this store, I refused to order the shoes I was planning on buying from this store and I purchased elsewhere. They really need to get it together. Worst customer service. The two girls working in the shoe section completely ignored us. The one sitting in the chair was playing on her phone, looked at us and got up and walked away. I drove all the way to this store from Queen Creek in order to purchase a product that no other dicks had. When I received the package in the store the box indicated that it was the product that I had purchased. Once I got home I took it out of the box only to find that they put another product in the box and sold it to me as the desired product. I called the manager and he told me he would fix it and send it to my nearby store. This was over a week ago and now I can't get anyone to respond. No one at my nearby store knows of anything the shady manager at this store is unresponsive. Very very dissappointed in the piss poor integrity and customer service of this store. read more

SOOOO I got injured after flying a long 5 day trip last year.. and my ortho surgeon and my physical therapist both feel my running days are past me... ha! Both think I need to just stick with an elliptical.. Okay.. Ill think about it.. As I look at the jiggle making its way up my short dwarf legs.. Im thinking more and more .. I tried running a trail and my knees were throbbing.. wahhh! Where is my youth going?? SO down to Dicks I go after the disaster at Sports Authority where no one helps with $1000 machines..?.. Well Dicks has their own trainers in that expensive section. I was lucky and got Teejay. He knew his ellipticals. He showed me the Proform, the Livestrong, (I personally have a crush on Lance since seeing him win twice in Paris!), and Sole. His wife has the same knee issues as I and that made me feel Im not alone in missing my running days. Now! I didnt throw down the $1k plus on the elliptical quite then, but if and when I do, I wont be at the sucky Sports Authority, I will be at Dicks with the good sales and trainers who know the products. They have a good section of running shoes too... For when I do go against my surgeon and get out on the trail! ;-) read more

This place has it all. I mean everything I was looking for. I own a kayak, and play disc golf, so they have a nice selection of accessories for both sports. I even got some really cool add on's to my kayak I haven't seen at any other stores in town. If you like camping you'll find a good selection here also. The prices are fair but they are retail prices. Dick's does have a buyers club you can join to earn points for gift cards, it's worth filling out, sporting goods add up fast and I know I've gotten a few gift certificates in the mail from it already. They also have a nice selection of camping stuff. All the little Nick nacs. Just try and stay focused while shopping here, I know I went in here for one thing, and ended up with a cart full of stuff. read more

And when they caught on to what I was asking for they said to come back at 430pm or 445pm. Really? No thanks. I will make the trip to Cabela's. No wonder Dick's has no customers in the store. 5 minutes of walking around in this small store trying to find an employee to answer our question is ridiculous.

They advertise "Free fitting with every club purchase." After purchasing a set of hybrid irons, I went in to have them fitted. After several swings, and measurements, I was told that this was my free fitting. I was then showed a chart showing the $5.00 per club to have them fitted. When I bought my last set of irons, the store measured and adjusted them for free. I think they may want to check the definition of free. I don't think it means what they think it means. read more

Terrible service. The clerk was so "I don't want to be here " look. When I asked about a military discount the sales clerk and manager I asked to come over, had a weird attitude. I shop there a lot and was spending over$400. I will now take my business to the stores that offer it. Their are many other that do. I have asked several times and each time get a "I really don't care look" or like these 2 walk away and don't even say thanks for shopping with you. It was like I was bothering them and they were uncomfortable with the inquiry or didn't want to respond why or don't or can't. Considering their prices are considerably higher than similar stores, a little wouldn't hurt. Sports Authority and others are much cheaper on many items. They lost me as a customer. read more

This store sucks. You literally need to hunt someone down to get questions answered and then usually the person you find doesn't know jack squat about the department you are looking in. I've complained to management before and basically been told oh well better luck next time... Moron at the service counter almost got me arrested while I was hunting because the idiot made my license expire the same day it was purchased.. then when I tell them about what happened again management basically shrugs it's off... really? If you want good deals on sporting goods In this area go to sportsman's warehouse or drive to arrowhead DSG where their customer service is so good it's almost annoying but at least I don't have to wonder around for 10 minutes looking for an answer read more

This review is specifically for the bicycle department! I went in for 2 new tubes and my muddy bike even came back clean! $25 for the price of getting 2 tubes replaced (including the price of the tubes) is very inexpensive! Cody even checked my brakes free of charge for safety purposes. Couldn't have asked for better service. Not a fan of the rest of the store/employees but I'll be back to the bike department. Cody should open his own repair shop in my opinion! read more

I'm on the verge of 2-star but that seemed a little harsh. Not a huge fan of Dick's (at least this one). They don't seem to have much in the way of outdoors sporting goods, their merchandise leans more heavily toward sports, equipment and clothing. Their prices are a little high on the things I tend to look for (fishing equipment, lures, ammo). In all of the times I've been there, only one associate has asked if I needed assistance or had any questions. Hung out around their firearms counter for a while eying up shotguns (as I am in the process of purchasing one) and nobody ever stopped to ask If I wanted to look at anything, or if I needed anything behind the counter. Not a horrible place, but a bit pricey for me, and I've certainly had better customer service elsewhere. read more

Sole F63 Treadmill Purchase Disaster We purchased this treadmill on October 27, 2013. When it was delivered, the incline did not go up or down. The installer (delivery and installation was included in the purchase price) noted that this did not work on the delivery ticket. But he would not take the machine back to the store for an exchange for one that actually worked! We called the manager at the store on Happy Valley Road, in Phoenix, AZ. (To date, we've spoken to three managers.) We explained that the machine did not work when delivered, had not been fixed, no one had contacted us, and that we wanted a new unit delivered as an exchange. We simply want a unit that works! The manager Dillon promised to get back to us after speaking to Corporate about an exchange. It has been roughly two weeks since talking to the manager (Dillon). To date, no return call to advise us of the status. Then yesterday, a new incline motor was delivered to our home. Still, no call from a service man, the store manager, or anyone for that matter. We called the folks who delivered the unit today. They could not assist us. Today, January 3, 2014, we called Spirit, Sole warranty folks. They said they'd walk us through the repair over the phone but could not perform the repair. But who ordered these parts, who is going to install them, and who is going to reimburse us for the lack of use of this device due to absolutely the worst store customer service we've ever experienced? We just want a machine that works. It's been two and a half months since purchase and still, nothing has happened. In my opinion, we have two issues. First, we have inept managers who do not follow through on their promises. And second, we have a corporate culture that does not empower those managers. Horrible customer service! Stood in the same spot for 20 min with a shoe in hand. By the time I pushed the help button, a worker walks right by me and didn't say anything. When I asked him for shoe sizes and colors he was very rude about it. Workers are walking around with headphones in their ears not asking if helped was needed. read more

Employees here are almost rude and poorly trained. I get CO2 refills very frequently from the Scottsdale location, and unfortunately Scottsdale ran out which led me to this location. I was forced to fill out a bunch of ridiculous paperwork and told that only one of my tanks could be filled because the other was too old. They then told me to go to the front and pay and then come back to the rear of the store to pick it up. It was a needlessly tedious, awkward, and convoluted process. It all took about 30 minutes to fill a single CO2 tank. After paying, I remembered that after all of that, I was due a free refill on the tank as per the aim-for-five program. The employee's attitude led me to believe he was knowingly trying to rob me of my free refill. read more

I went to this store to purchase a high end bat for a 11 year old to use in Little League. Being I do not know much about bats I asked the manager to help me. I made it clear that I needed a Little League approved bat. I have no experience I asked for his help. He assured me he knew all about it and he sold me a bat for $200. I took the kid to his game the next day and was told that the bat was not acceptable for Little League. I only went there because the coach recommended Dick's and he said they were a good store and would exchange it. When I tried to exchange it, I would have paid even more if needed, I was told it was my problem and how was the manager supposed to know anything about bats. Needless to say I will never go there again and I am stuck with a $200 bat that the kid can't use. read more

This is a great one stop shop for sporting goods. I have found the stores to be clean, well organized and consumer friendly. The prices are also better than other sporting goods stores and the selection is outstanding. I now buy all my baseball gear, golf gear and general athletic apparel at Dick's. They would get 5 stars but they don't have a store in Scottsdale so I have to drive 15-20 to get to a Dick's and that costs them one star. read more
