While I think the products that this store sells are some good ones, their prices are darn horrible. They have a lot of items that I'd love to purchase. However, I have also been told that the different sizes that I've requested are ones that they do not typically carry. I don't know how much of an insult that is or how much more rude it was that the sales person seemed to just want to get rid of me and have me stop asking questions. When the Dodgers were announced that they were participating in the World Series this season, we rushed over to check out their WS merchandise. Not only were we ignored but we were also discouraged to come back to the store unless we call first to see if the merchandise that we were looking for would be available, not just WS merchandise but also general every day stuff that we might look for there. I asked if some of my e-mailed coupons were valid but they told me that they were not and that they were on-line coupons only. I read and re-read the small print. They did not say that the coupons were online coupons only but they would NOT honor them. The coupons that I were trying to use were for non-NBA, non-WS merchandise and still they would not accept them. Horrible customer service but the store has some cool merchandise. read more

I love this DSG. I've shopped her several times for footwear and I've always been helped by Daniela. She's great - she's knowledgeable and cares deeply about getting me the right shoes. She listens to what I need the shoes for and provides options and lets me know if the ones I've selected are a bad option, and why. I really appreciate her honestly and knowledge of the product. Well this place is a little small they do carry some stuff but not all the stuff it is local in the glendale mall . They do have a few workers for each section . They seem busy at times . I'm disappointed that's two levels and they still can manage offer any classes. read more

I have stepped inside the store twice in this past week and not once was I asked if I needed any help. Horrible customer service. I was shopping for female shoes and there were three customer service employees in the men's shoe dept not busy with any body and not one came over to help me. I kept looking over as I picked up shoe after she but they were to busy Lala gagging to even pay attention. As I leave with my sister in law we notice lack of employee availability in every dept including check out. For such a big store I was expecting a better standard of service, very disappointed. I went here alone w/ my newborn to buy a wagon and was struggling to push the stroller and carry a huge box the associates were quick to help me and even let me pick the box up at their loading dock when I was done shopping around the mall. Overpriced, understaffed. Staff sucks too. I've been waiting a full hour for someone to bring me cleats. When I asked about it, the guy just shrugged. I asked a woman here if they had any women's cleats. She just told me to go look myself. If you aren't aggressive, they won't help you. And I'm no aggressive, so here I am wasting my whole morning waiting for some dude to bring me the wrong size cleat. My time is valuable and they don't treat me that way here. The customer service at this location is outstanding and the staff is so friendly. I've never been into one of these sporting good stores but I will definitely return again. I placed an online order when I was in the area and came into the store to just buy the item in stock and return the online purchase. Zhirayr was the greeter helping customers at the door and was super helpful with getting a manager to check on my order and help. They were moderately busy but all the employees were just great. I decided to buy more items (having walked around the store a bit while I waited for someone to let me know how to proceed with my order) Abner the store manager went above and beyond to find my online order and mark it as picked up even though I came wayyyy before it was even supposed to be ready. This was my first curbside pickup order but I didn't need to explain any of that because everyone was very willing to just help. Very high prices for very substandard merchandise. And the help isn't helpful at all. I had some basic questions, and they kept putting me off for the longest time, until I was finally able to ask. And the answer was a completely confused blank stare. There was hardly anything there other than very thin shirts, grocery store soccer balls, and terribly cheap baseball caps with outrageously high prices on them. And parking was an absolute nightmare, and the store wasn't even busy. Okay, I'll force myself to say something good: the music over the PA system was cool. Nobody on floor to help you. If your brick and mortar and it's easier to get customer service online, what's the point of a freestanding store. Cashier pushed signing up for their rewards program beyond the limit of ordinary patience. No three times will still be no the fourth time, and when you have a line and one cashier, be pragmatic about the process. This may be the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We waited in line for 20 minutes because they had one cashier working. Then despite our merchandise having a upc and price they couldn't ring us up and we spent another 15 minutes waiting for the cashier. I came here for some camping and hiking gear and they have the sorriest selection of products available. Their section of women's hiking boots had 3 shoes in it and I couldn't even find any socks. It looks like most of their other sections were pretty sparse too. I just mostly saw workout clothes. It was a waste of time coming here. read more

I purchased a pair of Shock Doctor knee wraps and unfortunately since I was cursed with thick thighs they wouldn't stay up. The fit was fine but they would roll down on me. I love the dicks store in Glendale galleria. Dorian, Thomas, Sean, Roman and Vince help me out with the checkout when cashier is having a slight problem ringing with one of the merchandise that I wanted to purchase. Manager Thomas and Vince came to the rescue to fix the problem. Nice communication between cashier and the manager. I was really impressed with the excellent customer service. Ok, so I thought...why in the Americana (formerly Glendale Galleria)? Seemed like a strange place for a Dick's. But wowsers, I love this place! It's *huge* - way bigger than the other local sporting goods stores. It's two levels of the best stuff there is. And get this, it's the only place I've found (as of this writing) that sells 22 ammo at reasonable prices (sshhh...). Who would have thunk it? They have a great selection of other outdoorsy stuff like fishing gear, etc. And you can almost always find an online coupon for 10% or 20% off. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

It is quite refreshing when a retail establishment extends customer service that is genuinely friendly, coupled with expert knowledge of merchandise on inventory. I extend major thumbs up to Josh for the guidance with the baitcasting reels and facilitating an awesome deal with my new Duckett Ghost rod. Josh was right on with this baitcasting rod. The store also had some great deals ($4 on plugs normally retailing for at least $12; must buy 5 though), among many other items. It goes without saying that Dick's will be my new "Go to Place" for fishing gear. This kind of service only happens in owner operated stores, small stores or stores in rural areas. Franky at checkout was equally friendly, affording interaction with a sincere smile and good sense of humor. Moreover, she extended an additional $10 discount i had on my phone. Im definitely gonna start monitoring the deals, via, email. Dick's Sporting Goods reminds me of the essential elements Sports Chalet created before they filed for bankruptcy: 1. Poorly trained employees who have never played sports, can't answer the simplest of questions (where are the ski socks?), and are completely dependent on minimum wage employment. 2. Shelves of products thrown everywhere that looks more like a swap meet grab bag than an organized store. 3. Staffing cut so low that you cannot find anyone to assist you. My advice to the Dicks corporate decision makers: Cash out your stock now! Don't wait or hesitate. Grab whatever value you can right now before you follow in the footsteps of your Sport Chalet brethren and have worthless stock and shuttered stores. You would think that Sports Authority and Sports Chalet would serve as educational Harvard Case Study reviews for you arrogant ninnies. Apparently not. My review of Sports Chalet was written 3 months before they went BK. Let's see if you can beat them to the finish line. read more

Don't even bother. When you follow the signs to go to the store it takes you to valet and the car wash area you can't park there unless you valet and then once they kick you out there's no parking in the rest of that parking structure so it's a big waste of time and very frustrating and I just left. Go to the Big 5 down the street. At least you have a chance of finding parking that's not a mile away from the store. read more

Bad manager we were here the other day near closing time. Making our way to pay and a guy who appeared to be a manger close to yelling at us says we need to go down stairs to pay. I ask him since you shut the gate can do we get back into the mall since we parked on the other side of the mall. He says theres an entrance down stairs. Ok we go down stairs no registers open and a guy down there says we cant get into the mall from there. So now annoyed since the manager lied to us and wants us to walk what may be close to a mile around the outside of the mall to get to our car. Finally i complain enough for some worker to come and open the mall entrance and let us out. Thanks man. Anyway if your company wants to have a store with mall entrances and separate floors please understand that your manager should be told that there are parking lots that are not attached to your store and some are on the other side of the mall. Also please teach them that customers are not employees we pay for your store to stay in business and you should be nicer to us. Its such a let down that the only sports store left near me sucks. Guess we will be shopping on line from other sources from now on. read more

I'm a huge fan of Dicks Sporting Goods because they always have tons of clothes I love. I walked into the store on opening day and of course they were on their game. Tons of employees working and constantly asking if I needed help. However, today a brown haired female employee wearing a white Victoria's Secret PINK zip up jacket had a horrible attitude. I waited awhile for a dressing room to be opened. She stormed up ignoring me. I was taken aback by her attitude and lack of greeting. She unlocked the door and I said "thank you." She rolled her eyes in silence and quickly turned away. She ruined my experience in the store that day. I wish I could have spoken to her boss. Employees like her ruin the beautiful store they have. I also saw a male worker walk past a clothing rack and knocking clothes to the ground without stopping to fix it. Kind of disrespectful to his own employer. This is a brand new Dick's in the old Nordstrom space at the Glendale Galleria. It has all the sporting goods a guy or gal could want in one place. I especially liked the $10.00 off a $25.00 purchase the best, so I bought a bunch of Dick's chairs for outdoor seating and fishing; you can't go wrong for $6.00. Other things to consider is the elevator was out, so I had to haul my purchases up the escalator and to the parking lot, which had me doing cardio again today. If you do go, be sure to join the Dick's frequent purchaser club, as it's triple points time and you get free stuff when you attain a certain amount of points. I've bought snow boards, shoes and other sporting goods at other Dick's Sporting Goods stores, so I know they have a great sales sometimes. I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to get some new running shoes because my other shoes where practically falling apart. I asked an employee to get me the shoes I wanted and looked at me with a strange smirk made of a fake smile and annoyance. When he came back and I asked him if they were good shoes for running around and being on my feet all day and he just replied by saying, "Yeah they can work. So do you want them?" I went to get my golf clubs re-gripped (which is very easy) 2 times in the past month and both times I called before to ask if I could come get that done. Both times they said yes sure, and I don't get off work until about 5, get to the store around 5:30-6 and they tell me that the guy who knows how to do it left for the day, and that they'll be able to do it if I leave my clubs with them for multiple days. I would simply just like to be told a specific time to come by if the person plans on leaving. It's just a hassle parking in the galleria parking garage and carrying my heavy golf bag through the mall all the way downstairs to the golf department just to be told it can't be done. It's a simple task that anybody in the golf department should know how to do considering they have all the equipment. I could even do it if they let me. But obviously not. Also I stood at the golf counter for about 10 minutes before I even saw any employees. And that's typical for the golf department at Dicks. read more
