So I was searching for some sneakers, and had spotted a solid deal online, in stock, at this store. Seemed simple enough. The store was huge, full of merch and pretty much devoid of people. I headed towards the shoe department and spotted the pair I had seen online, although here they were not on sale. I figured I would ask an employee but there was only one working in the vicinity. There was a kiosk that I attempted to use but it did not even show the shoes in stock. I did not have all day to wait but I hung around for a bit longer by the entrance to the shoe stock room and an another employee finally appeared, said 'excuse me' and walked right by me without asking if I needed help. This is probably obvious to others, but if you want to get good service it's best to go to a smaller business! Or even just another large sporting goods store, of which we have several in the Bay. For starters, this is one of the most pretentious sporting goods stores I've ever visited. The ONLY bright spot was the guy in the shoe department -- he was solid and actually knew how to treat a customer. Everyone else? Completely useless. They sold me a floor model with a broken box, and honestly I only took the shoes because I needed them badly for my recovering stress fracture. Otherwise, I would've walked right out, and here's why: They tried to deny their own promotions, acted annoyed when I pointed out the ad, and only honored the discount after I pushed back. On top of that, the pair was a floor model AND the box was damaged with a piece of hair inside it, and they still tried to charge full price. In the end, I got them to honor the $40 in coupons -- but the attitude, the snobbish vibe, and the lack of basic customer service was ridiculous. Stopped by to check out some Super Bowl LX and 49ers apparel since it's Super Bowl weekend!! I had checked to see what Dick's had available and saw they had a Flash Sale for some 49er apparel so I decided to add them to the cart and view them in the store. As I walked in, there was a big sign "Chase the Smoke Super Bowl LX" with a Nike swoosh and a pre-registration check-in station for a media event they were having with some football players and lots of fans, esp. young boys who were listening to them speak and be interviewed. I walked past it and went to the 49er/Warriors area to find the sale items. There were lots of 49er and Warriors apparel but the items that were on the Flash Sale weren't shown with sale signs. An employee helped me once I showed her the items in my cart. Her hand-held reader was giving a different price so she told me to show the prices on my phone once I was at the cash register. I found some shirts/jerseys and then went to the Super Bowl apparel area in the front. I found a t-shirt and purchased my items. There was a area behind the stage where they were offering free iron-on decals to personalize your Super Bowl shirt/jersey! I spoke to Sasha who was very helpful, offered good design suggestions and we worked together to customize my t-shirt!! I appreciated her friendly customer service and upbeat personality. Prescilla at the cash register was also helpful and was able to honor my online Flash Sale prices. I'm so happy I stopped in and so happy with my purchases!! This is my go-to Bay Area Fan shop when I'm in the area. I was in to try on some volleyball/basketball shoes and was initially worried that I would have trouble flagging someone to help me get a size. The staff who helped me was friendly and it helped that he also plays the same sport so he was able to recommend the current trending shoes that are popular and get me some sizes. F U Dick's. I took my early onset Alzheimer's 85 year old mom to try out some stationary bikes because exercise helps with dementia. The employees knew ZERO about the exercise equipment on the floor and then the employee had the nerve to ditch me and my mom the first chance he got. I'd only recommend this place if you know what you need to buy. Otherwise, the employees are clueless and only see this as a "throw away" job. read more

Jodi Heath the store manager here is a great representative of the Dick's brand and is an excellent store manager. We've connected over phone several times about my interest in the golf department and how I enjoy shopping here specifically, due to one of her associates John up in golf, who is always very helpful and knowledgaeble. Jodi is responsive to both positive and critical feedback. She doesn't brush anything under the rug, but acts on that feedback and does her best to make things happen. As a customer, there's not much more you can ask for in a manager like Jodi who gets it. Her passion and professionalism in providing excellent customer service is what makes this one of the best Dick's stores I've been to, and will keep me coming back! 5 stars for Jodi and her team! read more

Why even have curbside pickup available at this location when no one ever comes out to bring your order? Yes, the curbside pickup area does exist, but it's tucked into a mini loading dock to the left of the main entrance and is not clearly marked, so most people wouldn't find it easily. There are also only two spots. When I went, one was blocked by a FedEx trailer, leaving just one usable space. After checking in, I waited 20 minutes before making my way into the store to see what the hold up was. Calling the store from my car was useless because no one answers the phone here either. I flagged someone by the entrance and told them I'd been waiting for a while in the curbside pickup area. He checked his phone/tablet, confirmed that there was a pickup for me, and then told me that he would go get my order. That pretty much confirmed that after checking in, no one was alerted and/or no one followed up to bring the order to the curbside area. I've chosen curbside pickup twice at this location and this is the second time I've had to go into the store to alert someone after checking in and waiting for a while. I chalked it up to a one-off experience the first time, but this second time confirms that curbside pickup actually means in-store pickup. If you want to waste half an hour and also get some steps in, choose curbside pickup at this location. As a bonus, you'll also receive a nice little, dismissive, "Sorry about that" when you get your order. read more

The customer service here is very bad because they hired the younger Gen-X, and they have no concept of dealing with customers. They really need to EDUCATE and take a training class because they just hire them to talk to each other, not help the customers, just read the other reviews, a lot of one Stars. I had horrible service on Saturday afternoon. How did it take five people to help? and then they don't come back and who wants to buy unisex shoes, especially if they're diabetic and they have a disability and they tell you specifically what kind of shoes they need. So avoid this place just go somewhere else it's not worth you spending your money and then nobody wants to help you. I was asking for a manager, and they refused to give me their name and their phone number to the store WTF who does that. My first experience here was definitely not the best this is the worst store I've ever been to. Normally, I go to Sports Basement but I decided to try out dicks and safe to say I won't be doing it again. First, let's start out with the worker there's one guy around 30s-40s a scruffy-looking man with a buzz cut or a mohawk type of haircut he was of tanner skin. He was talking to a boy loudly, asking him questions about other boys on his phone asking if the boy knew them and if he could tell him any information about the boys. I heard him saying that the boys were people that were either trespassed or been arrested. First of all, why does he have pictures like that on his phone most of the boys seem to be middle school to high school kids. Secondly, why is dicks allowing a worker to have photos like that on his personal cell phone shouldn't it be in their system or something instead? and also i saw him chasing boys out to the bus stop. This is just too much he is a worker i get that he wants to prevent stealing but asking questions about boys on his phone to other kids and chasing them to the bus stop seems like way too much. For my first time being at dicks this was definitely something I would not like to see the first time I go to there store. You need to train workers better or not allow them to do things like this because it's crazy does the worker just have permission to do this or does dicks not know about it? I'm not sure which would be worse. read more

I was in the store shopping today for swimwear. The department is disorganized with sizing and price tags; Four different prices are on one tag. One manager and one ringer clerk for the entire store. After 40 mins. I found five items and one of the items had a price discrepancy. The ringer and manager won't honor the sale price on what's on the tag, so they walk away and tell us it's not her fault that the ticket won't scan with the price. They both told me they don't have to honor anything if they don't want to. What kind of business is this? No service! Horrible attitude toward paying customers! This Dicks Sucks! We drove over from San Francisco to kit our son up for his upcoming soccer season and we quickly regretted doing so. This store was in a messier state than a public toilet in the SF tenderloin, health and safety was nonexistent, barely anything was priced and the staff (bar Isaiah alone who really tried but had his hands full) was nowhere to be seen. The place is massive. There's no shortage or nearly about anything here. The place is two stories tall and the employees were more than willing to help me out.
