    I have been needing to get a gait analysis for running/walking shoes since my current ones have been giving me some blisters and unwanted ankle pain. I walked in and was greeted by a team member and mentioned I wanted to do the gait analysis. These are free and they don't take appointments--you just walk in and request it! I was helped by team member Elizabeth, on a weekday around 3pm. There were a few other customers in store too. She had me remove my shoes, keep my socks on and walk in a straight line around the store. Then I had to stand on this device that takes a thermal looking heat sensitive foot print on the floor for a minute. This would show my arch shape, and mine is medium arch! After this, I did a normal shoe size fitting. I used to get size 7.5 shoes for running, but she mentioned I needed size 8. Then she brought over 3 different shoes from 3 brands. I tried out each of them and was torn between 2 choices. I was in a hurry though, and was also able to try my favorite pair with some recommended insoles. Because of my limited time, I asked Elizabeth to put my items on hold at the register to do some minor research before deciding on my final purchase. This took less than 30 minutes, but your time will vary spending on how decisive/indecisive you are when trying on multiple pairs of shoes around the store! The actual gait analysis itself took about 5-10 minutes max. I found it really helpful and easy to get my gait analysis done with the team members. I recommend it to anyone who has been meaning to get it done! And it's free!

A team member asks you to run while they record you and then go over what shoes are best for your individual needs. Shoes can make or break my performance, especially when training or running races. Thus, I appreciate the recommendations are for me rather than it being the latest shoe. For instance, after my analysis, I came to learn I have a neutral gait and got the recommendation for Saucony's. Having run in Asics and Brooks for years, I am grateful I now have another shoe in my rotation. Knowledgeable Staff: A Runner's Mind Burlingame staff are knowledgeable. I have come here several times, and in each instance, team members have been able to answer my question. For example, I have a few shoes on rotation while I train, and they have been able to give me tips on what shoes are best for workouts, such as long runs versus tempo and speed. No Pressure to Buy:

The mattress probably came with pinhole so didn't hold air in. Used up a credit so didn't keep the receipt. Always keep the receipts from this store. Andreas, a manager when I called to explain the situation said he could give me a $30 gift card. But when I got there, I waited about 45 minutes and he didn't give me a refund. He gave me a receipt at my request since I didn't want to go to that store again, saying I left both there for customer service to resolve the next day...figured he could mail me a gift card as promised. The Big 5 store where I bought it understood the situation and apologized for the way I was treated because the actual manager, Matt, hung up on me 4 times and each call was the same: he didn't listen to me and told me to call their customer service and then hung up on me. When I was told by Coleman to take a photo of the items so that they could give me the proper customer service...nobody at the store would take a photo of my items for me. But Matt didn't stay on the phone long enough to hear it. I'm now thinking that's because they tossed the items long before my month deadline expired. Coleman took care of me anyway. April 22 I brought the items to this store and Jessica in customer service told me that I had a month to resolve the issue, not necessarily pick it up as non profits have pick up schedules. Several days before the month ended, I found very appropriately, an abuse shelter who would pick up both items once they had a team member to make the 45 minute trip to do so. I notified the store and customer service before the deadline of the plan that a non profit would be picking them up so they had no right to toss my items. I let the store know on Friday 5/29 that someone was on the way from San Jose (within a week of the deadline within which the plan had to be communicated, as Jessica abruptly mandated) and gave the store the heads up. Andreas couldn't find it and after so many lies and being hung up on so many times, and Jessica not listening and talking over me when I tried to correct her with accurate info, I figured that when he said he would look for it and let me know...that I would never hear. So today, my last call with Jessica, the manager of Big 5 customer service, she defended their action to toss my items since there was a pinhole leak (which they knew from the beginning as I told them so and it was sold that way; I think it was a prior return) and reneged on her prior comment that I had to let them know within the month...not picked up within the month. So I got the expected answer from her when I asked her to send a new queen air mattress and pump to this shelter and here's their address. She verbally attacked me. Now off to call the shelter...and let them know the unconscionable ending. Before I end this you should know that I called at least 5 other Big 5 CA stores for the regional/district manager's name and contact information and none would share it...so abusive managers can get away with their behaviors and their bosses never find out. So regional managers Paul Stockdale (No. CA) and Frank Golden (So. CA), make your contact info known if customers ask so that you can get the best store managers and staff who aren't afraid of accountability, truth and good customer service.

However, as I look through the other reviews, I just think that's their personality with everyone. after reassuring the owner that I intended to spend a lot of money there and complementing him on his excellent selection he changed his disposition and has become a very valuable teacher. Between Hi's and Phu Quy I limit out everytime based on their advice. He also got me a nice set up put together that works amazing and fresh and saltwater. Regarding the woman who works there, she is straight up and to the point and I appreciate that. A lot of of people expect women n minorities to shuck and jive for them in customer service roles... that's a reflection on the customer not the staff. It's a tackle shop don't overcomplicate it, I personally give this place and 10/10

On Monday, I called to reserve a box of RA05, and the older gentleman there was kind enough to hold it for me. Came by and bought it, and was in and out of the door. I actually pulled the overframe Super Polymerization. I felt so good about pulling that, I called them again the next day to reserve another box. The lady that picked up let me know they were running low on RA05, but let me know I'd be able to purchase it before the end of the day as she reserved it for me. Sick. So I came by, got the box and six loose booster packs... and pulled a Starlight overframe Shooting Quasar Dragon. I gave the box to my homie, and he wasn't so lucky with his pulls, unfortunately. I haven't been to Lefty's since 2022 (when The Grand Creators and Ghosts from the Past 2 were out), but I intend on returning for new YGO releases. Love their vibe and the pricing on RA05 was pretty fair. I plan to be back again!

Pulled a gold card off a prismatic and that was pretty awesome. Value on the pokemon is was above msrp so just an fyi. Friendly staff that let you choose the packs you wanted in the pile. Im eyeing one of the sf giants legends signed ball for the future!

    A different kind of review…read more I visited Tim's shop to seek a fix on my snowboard for a couple of core shots that happened early season. I'm someone who keeps their boards for a long time, but this year was the year I happened to upgrade. I brought in my new Burton Custom to see if Tim's shop could take on the fixes. I was pretty bummed out, and I knew I needed to take care of filling these core shots if I wanted to keep this board like my other ones for many years. Tim graciously inquired, "have you done any kind of repair work on your boards before?" I said I have not. He then was very encouraging and said I should try and do the work. It is labor intensive, and I could learn for future repairs. I ride trees and backcountry a lot. Tim then told me what to buy and hooked me up with metal grind and p-tex for free. Well, after a few YouTube videos and buying my own tune kit, I finished the repairs and tune today and it turned out so good! Even though I didn't get anything serviced at Tim's shop, he was cool and "taught me how to fish." I could have spent the same amount of money to get it fixed at Tim's shop or other, but now I learned a life long skill that is in an industry I love so much. Tim's shop was super busy with tunes and fixes, and I'm sure that's part of the reason he was encouraging for me to take on doing the work. But ultimately, I think he saw someone who is passionate about snowboarding and could learn something really useful. Listened to the issues I was having it, busted out the screwdriver and diagnosed it on the spot, took it in for a fair price and got it back to me the day we agreed on looking absolutely pristine. And gosh the tune up job was almost too good, I was flying down the slopes, and even traversing catwalks it felt like it just wanted to go. Can't recommend this shop enough. Yes it's a bit more expensive than your big business spots but the peace of mind and clear care for your equipment is worth it to me personally. Will be coming back for all of my maintenance needs.

I…read moredid not intend to buy right now since the trip I wanted the shoes for isn't until August. I was warmly greeted by a few different associates. And then came Kyle -- He was attentive to me while I asked a lot of product information questions about the brand. I was amazed at how knowledgeable he was and more amazed that he had only worked there for a few months. He seemed like a very seasoned and well trained employee. I ended up buying a pair of Kizik's on the spot because of Kyle's fine service. I work in a retail store that sells shoes and I get a pretty handsome discount, so I don't often shoe shop at another store. But I was so wowed by Kyle's service that there was no way I would leave the store without purchasing from him. Did I mention he pulled up one of those low stools and helped me put on the shoes and made sure they fit properly. Who does that these days! Usually, they bring the shoes out, drop them at your feet and head off to do something else, only to return if you want to buy. There's a reason his business card says "Rockstar Sales Associate."
