Came in to sharpen a spyderco para 2 today 1/18/25 around 2:45pm and the guy working was on the phone most of the time I was there and kept fidgeting with my knife until he dropped it on the counter he then took my knife to the back still on the phone and attempted to sharpen and reshape due to a minor chip on the tip, the knife came back looking pretty bad I asked him if he could due a little better he said sure, well as you can see in the picture it still came back with a very odd shape, at this point I didn't want this guy touching my knife anymore, I give it two stars because of the price to sharpen the knife but I really wish they would value customers time and respect the knives that are brought instead of playing around with them. I bought a taser there. The fist one did not work right out of the package. When I took it back, they said they couldn't replace it at first but eventually did replace it. The second one I got stopped working as well. I spent a fair amount of money on it and am really disappointed it just doesn't work any more. I obviously am not going to try taking it back because the first experience was so frustrating. The only reason I left 2 stars is because the employees are actually really friendly and answer all my questions, and I've bought a few knives there that work well. So I've been a long time customer of this knife shop since it was over in north concord, but not any more. I have always got good deals and paid some not so good deals cause I knew what I was buying. This last week my addiction got the better of me and I went in to buy a knife for my father's birthday and myself. Long story short the owner of the store had a mick strider forsale that was used and didn't come with box and docs. She told me that she didn't have any information about the knife and the aforementioned details, said it was from a trade she did with another customer. Said she would only charge me 200 for the knife, me who has never owned a mick strider jumped on the deal because 200 for a used strider is too good to be true. Well it was to good. The knife is a clone copy smf xl from a Chinese knife maker. It's currently being sold on Amazon for 75 dollars by eafengrow a Chinese knife manufacturer. I went in to discuss with the owner about this and she said no returns, and that she was clear with me she doesn't know anything on it, and that she actually thought it was a clone. She never mentioned before selling me the knife it was possibly a clone though so there's that. She wouldn't accept a trade back either for a knife of equal value, as I'm desperate to not own a fake knife and over pay for a fucking used one. She only told me sorry even though she willingly knew it was possibly a clone when she sold it to me. My point of this message is if you go in there be prepared to possibly buy a used clone knife and not get your money back. Jason Perry the owner greeted me immediately after entering his store. I originally came in to sharpen my Benchmade 940 due to rolling the blade from cutting a dryer vent pipe. It was $7 each to sharpen a knife but you get one free if you buy a knife. The knife wall was fully stocked and it was a heavenly sight for sure. Jason showed me the few knives I wanted to see in person. He is very passionate about knives for sure! I've been buying most of my knives from Bladehq. However, after meeting Jason and seeing his selection, I'll be supporting his business for sure. HOLY COW, I love this place!!! But first, lets rewind. After many late nights of watching videos on you tube from varying sources trying to see if "this knife" or "that knife" is worth the fifty to eighty dollars that I'm willing to spend on a knife. Then I'll fill go up my amazon cart, not make a decision, then go to sleep. Recently, I started working in Pleasant Hill. On lunch breaks, wanting to handle some of the folders, button locks and flippers that have been cluttering my Amazon cart, I began to wander into many large chain sporting goods stores. None had much beyond some Gerber, Kershaw and other low end brands that resemble the junk in liquor stores and smoke shops. A few clerks at those counters were highly knowledgeable and recommended I go to Perry's. Yesterday on my Lunch break, I finally got to go in. It was awesome! The woman working behind the counter was so helpful and knowledgeable. She was super patient with me since I was so excited to try A LOT of knives. They had so many different brands that I was able to handle everything that I've tried to get my hands on before buying. I ended up getting a new CIVIVI Elementum 2 with a button lock, which I am loving. I also got a killer deal on a CRKT in the slightly used section (1 st vertical row on the left). Brought in my work knife, as you can see it goes through hell everyday. Small chips all over the blade, I've broken the tip off 2 times now and what can I say. Jason (the owner) brings her back to life every time. And for people wondering what knife that is, it's a Spyderco Shaman S30V, and the zip-tie attached to blade is so it auto-deploys when I pull it from my pocket. I walked into this store today and Jason immediately greeted me and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I was actually just there to look around because I love knives and I'd never been in and wanted to see what they had. What I found was a great assortment of tactical knives, throwing knives, kitchen knives, and so much more. He sells them, sharpens them, and even makes his own. He was really friendly and knowledgeable and I was definitely glad I stopped in. I even found a great wooden cane handmade by another skilled local whose beautiful wood products Jason sells in here too! Please, be aware of their very poor return policy. Last Sunday I came to buy a folding knife from them trying to help a local business instead of buying it online. The price for the knife was 50% higher than online to start with, but I decided to buy it anyways for the exact same reason of helping local businesses. The folding mechanism of knife didn't work out for me, I got a small cut on the tip of my pinkie. Since I felt the knife was not for me I decided to go back to the store (next business day) to get at least an exchange, willing to get an even more expensive knife. The owner told me that they couldn't accept it because it was used due to the small cut, even when I didn't use the knife to cut anything else besides paper. She didn't offer anything to at least retain a customer and told me 'that's how retail is'. I found this policy underwhelming for a local business. Please do yourself a favor, don't buy knives from them. Get them somewhere else where you can get them at a market price and you can return them if they don't work out for you, no questions asked, they just need to pass a thorough inspection. read more

Staff said yes and charged me $7, then, asked if I wanted to wait five minutes while they sharpened the knife. I said I rather eat tacos while they sharpened the knife and asked if the knife would be done in 30 minute. They said, "yes". After lunch, I returned to the store, staff said they didn't get to it, can I come back later. This was 1pm. Came back 5pm, dude in store says, "he's back.'
