One of the better Bass Pro Shops in the region. The Manteca location is two stories and a little bigger than the Sacramento store. The interior has some nice features when entering. There's a giant artificial sequoia tree you walk through with an artificial rock ridge line in the rotunda with rams on the ridge. This location seems to stock more combo fishing rods. As for the rest of the fishing supplies it's about the same as the Sacramento location. On the outside grounds theres a small pond where you'll see families with their kids fishing. Buy some fishing gear and go fish!!! read more

I purchased a 2023 Sun Tracker boat from Bass Pro Shops in Manteca and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing from day one. The boat had ongoing issues immediately after purchase, and despite multiple attempts over several months to get them resolved, the problems were not properly addressed. After significant delays, the boat was finally inspected and a hole in the console was discovered, which was allowing water intrusion into the vessel. I brought the boat in for repair expecting a resolution, but when it was returned, the condition was actually worse. Components were loose, poorly fitted, and the overall workmanship was unacceptable. The original issue was not fully resolved, and additional problems appeared after their service work. At this time, Bass Pro Shops in Manteca still has possession of my boat, and I have been unable to get any clear communication or updates despite multiple attempts to follow up. My calls are not being returned, and I'm being left without answers or a timeline for resolution. To make matters worse, the warranty service department has stated that the issue is not their responsibility and that it falls on the dealer, who they believe caused the damage during service. I am now stuck in the middle with no one taking responsibility, no repair progress, and no clear path forward, which has been extremely frustrating and concerning given the cost and seriousness of the purchase. At this point, I am extremely concerned about the quality control and service standards. For a major purchase like a boat, I expected far better support and accountability. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves how warranty and repair cases are handled for customers. read more

We were driving through this area and of course when we saw a Bass Pro Shops store we had to stop and spend some time here. We love this place. The closest one to us when we're home is in Rocklin, so whenever we come upon a BPS we gotta go in and walk around, and maybe pick up a couple things. My kids love this place, there's so much to look at, it's like going to the Great outdoors but you're indoors so there's no complaining from the kids, a win-win. They especially like the giant aquarium in the middle of the store. There's usually some pretty kois, but also some wilder fish. I think we saw a shark or sturgeon of some kind this time. All the "stuffed animals" taxidermied creatures are super cool. I enjoy seeing them as do my kids. I get a kick out of seeing my wife freak out and walk as far away as possible from those animals because they scare her, haha. My kids get a kick out of seeing their mom all scared too, usually that woman isn't even scared of spiders or cockroaches, and kills them by hand with a paper towel, but I digress. There's so many cool areas all over the store, but my favorite are the camping and hunting sections. They have a fantastic selection of knives and of course, nice guns too. They have everything you can think of for camping the wilderness way or if you prefer to bring civilization with you, they've got all kinds of glamping supplies too, that's what my wife says it's called. Glamorous camping. My kids really like the archery section and the range in house is cool too. Too bad it wasn't open the day we stopped by this time. Finally, there's everyday stuff like tons of sports and camping clothes, insulated bottles and coffee mugs, igloos, thermoses, hiking and regular shoes for trails and serious hikes, all kinds of backpacks, travel bags, some luggage, and camp chairs that really can be used for any outdoors activities from the local park to a real camping trip. There's just so much cool things here and you can walk around till you are exhausted and then you can climb into a tent and take a break. My kids may or may not have done that. Good times. As for value, there's things that are reasonably priced and some items are definitely over priced, but you get good personalized customer service here (but you do have to seek it out) vs online where you're just on your own, plus here you get a whole experience shopping so it's worth the extra to get good service. I usually go there when I am in the area as something to do that's free (although it's hard to leave without goodies). The staff is always super nice and helpful. I can't speak to their inventory but I usually find what I'm looking for. You find good deals displayed in bins. The hat is really nice and the merchandise, I really like how the store looks with all the animals and everything it's pretty crazy how the store looks really nice. The 1st time I walked into a Bass Pro Shop, it took my breath away. This shop is no exception. Its grand atmosphere makes it a fun place to shop for all types of sporting gear. The kids love the waterfall and the fish. This shop has a trout pond too which has huge fish which you can look upon (reminds me of a koi pond). There's lots to shop around and some great prices too. A welcome diversion to see if you're staying at Great Wolf Lodge. You can walk behind the waterfall and it's a magnificent experience. Highly recommend! read more

If you have never been to this location you have to! It's the biggest one I have ever been to. Back at my other place in Boise, Idaho we have a Cabela's (same company) and love that store, but even though they have a great selection this place is on a whole new level. The fishing section alone will blow your mind. Service for the most part is always good and the reason I took away a star was the not so great service I had the other day but a new pole and the guy refused to re-spool it for me even though back home they do it all the time. On this trip I bought a brand new kayak along with some other fishing gear. A couple guys brought it up and loaded all up in my vehicle it was great service. I also think their prices are very fair especially their Bass Pro branded stuff plus as far as clothing really like their Ascend and Red Head stuff for guys. Even my wife who can be pretty picky loves the Ascend Natural Reflections brands. Plus you can also buy anything from a new pole, to a boat and ATV and even try out your new rod and reel right in front of their store with their stocked pond. Our 2nd Bass Pro Shop and was surprised by how different the layout and decorating was between stores. Manteca seems to go all out to "Wow!" you as soon as you walk in. You can't help but look up as you become immersed into the rustic oversized lodge ambiance. Enter thru the huge Sequoia, yes, thru! and be welcomed into the vast array of outdoor entertainments available to anyone. They have the gorgeous aquarium along with the varied animal dioramas. We found the fun, free shooting gallery and spent a little bit of time there. Then more to explore. Shelf stable food that lasts 25-30 years curated by chefs. I've tried regular survival foods and those were already pretty good. Men's and ladies sections for really nice clothes. The stairs or elevators take you up to the hunting section, but also gives you a great view of the store. Cross the bridge to shoes, socks, grilling supplies and accessories, and more that I can't remember. You know what I found? Moon Pies in chocolate, banana and caramel flavors! I tried the caramel. That was a great treat. Staff and fellow customers alike were super friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy being there. Sale items are well marked. Every department is well maintained and staffed with helpful and knowledgeable professionals. There was also a Travel department! I'm checking that out next time. read more

I love BPS but i dislike the aggressive time share sales people in front of the aquarium. They stare you down and wait for you to come closer. Gotta give a huge shout out to Alan at the fishing counter. I've been out of the game for near two decades and wanted to get back in. I was interested in a BFS setup, and Alan was able to recommend a great rod and reel for the job. He even went as far to recommend an amazing Rapala Countdown crankbait and even showed me how to tie a drop shot rig! I just got out on the water with everything today and snagged a trout with the Rapala Alan recommended. I don't know how many folks have gone out with a new rig after years without casting anything and pulled in fish the first time, but I have to imagine that's a pretty good sign that I was recommended good equipment. This Bass Pro Shops is located in the same plaza as AMC with plenty of parking. Being such a fan of this beloved sporting goods and hunting store, I always have to visit one if I see one (I am not sure why but I like to go inside and browse). So my husband, our little girl and I decided to make a visit last month. Bass Pro Shops is dog friendly for those that are new to this chain. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a friendly employee. But to be honest, it was actually our little girl that was greeted first, lol. We were actually approached by several employees while we were shopping because of our little girl. Several of them wanted to meet her and pet her. We ended up purchasing a bottle brush made by Hydroflask because I have been wanting to buy one to scrub the bottom of my water bottles. In store, this brush was $12.99 (prior to tax), however on Bass Pro Shops' website, it was $9.99. We walked over to the hunting gun section and asked the employee if they could price match their website. The employee told us it was no problem and able to ring us up accordingly at the cheaper price. We had a positive shopping experience and would shop here again if we live in the area. read more

One of those stores you can get lost in! We always like stopping in here & before I forget the restroom is straight back through to the back of the store & on the right unlike the Rocklin one which is right up front! You will notice this is a two story Bass Pro & wife enjoys the upstairs if she's looking for rugged shoes for trail walking! She did want to buy some under armour merchandise but held back for now. She's getting more picky as time goes on although one item was 25% off through Xmas. However I was hangry so I grabbed a bag of Johnny Moore's Signature hardwood smoked steak strips & had to hide it from my wife bc she said they were TDF! So delicious! Now she's still asking where is that bag of beef jerky. Like what? Heehee... You can get service but you have to seek it out. We didn't have any issues ourselves. I'm sure we will be back next year at this time! We actually have family who lives nearby & we love shopping in here. Plenty of free parking & other stores to shop nearby. Oh don't tell my wife that! I am in desperate need of some hiking boots for this weekend and the ones I ordered online (from a different retailer) were delayed so we drove out to see if I could find some here. I must start by saying that I do like this store, it is beautiful and there is lots to see. I also love that I can bring my dog with me so bonus points to them for being dog friendly. We probably spent about 45 minutes shopping here tonight and we did leave with a few items but definitely not the boots I came for. I know that this is a quality store, but when we got upstairs to look at shoes I immediately saw the exact pair I had ordered online and rushed to grab them. Unfortunately, the were DOUBLE the price I paid online elsewhere. I was a little shook. It only took me a minute or two of looking to know that there was no way I was buying any footwear here. Oh, well. That's why people shop around, right? We decided to browse and let our pup stare deep into the eyes of the fish in the aquarium and I did find the absolute softest ruana I have ever seen and at 25% off I had to have it! Unfortunately, it did not ring up discounted and my husband was asked to go find the rack and take photos and bring them back to the cashier. Ultimately I got my 25% off but nobody likes those situations. Also, while we are on the topic of staff, they have tons of people working here! I will say that they are usually friendly but just tonight, we were approached by 3 sales staff and one was for what we think was like a timeshare raffle....ugh.... Anyway, I'm torn on the rating because I love the dog friendly element, the gorgeous decor and the unique items, but some of the prices are pretty steep and I really just want to be left to shop in peace, so my heart says 3.5 stars but I am rounding up for good measure! read more

The staff at the Manteca Bass Pro reel counter acted arrogant, dismissive, and judgmental. Instead of helping customers who were clearly ready to buy, they seemed more interested in brushing us off and making rude comments about pricing. This employee that was helping my son (which is a young adult) told him you do now this reel is $299 right?! If this is the level of customer service Bass Pro is okay with, they should seriously reconsider who they put behind the counter. Rude, unhelpful, and condescending. read more

We always pass this shop on our way from Fresno to the Bay Area and we have never stopped, well today we did and it was pretty awesome! This is an amazing store, for my hubby it was kind of like a trip to an amusement park and he could have easily stayed there for a couple hours. There are plenty of interactive things for everyone (especially kids); a giant aquarium, an archery range (bring or buy your own arrows), and a shooting arcade. Definitely worth a stop! read more

I have a 2000 Bass Cat Pantera Classic. This boat is 26yrs old. Ihave been having trouble finding a shop that has a computer to check the engine performance and run hours. I called Bass Pro Shop in Manteca and spoke to someone in the boat repair shop. He informed me that one of the Technicians had the computer to check out my 200HP Optimax. I was excited to hear that. I let him know that I had been to (2) other shops and nobody had one. Long story short I was pleased with the Service Manger Lucien and he assured me they could get to the bottom of my rough idle and stall out issures. He found (2) spark plug wires that he said had high resistance and (2) fouled spark plugs. The research I did on my own was pointing towards possible bad reeds. I explained this to him. He replaced the spark plugs (all) and the spark plug wires too. He said this made a big improvement but it still ran a little rough. I bought Chris Carson Reeds and shipped them to him to replace the old ones. He said the Tech found (4) broken Reeds. He replaced them and told me it was running great. I asked if I could see it run he said sure. I gave Bass Pro Shop 24 hr advance notice that I was coming and a woman answered the phone and said she would have the tech run the engine for me. Lucien assured me the boat would be cleaned up as best he could due to the rain and it would be ready for me to inspect. When I arrived I found the trailer hitch pin broken, the boat dirty and wet, the batteries dead (so I did not see it run) the Cowling cover loose, I was not a very happy camper. Also, in the report she apologized that they were not able to hook up the computer to the engine for diagnostics. Lucien told me they did hook it up and I had 800 hrs on the engine. I wish they would get the stories straight. To top it off the Tech that supposedly did the repairs was on vacation. This is not a very professional output for me as a customer. read more

This Bass Pro had zero ammunition that was on sale. ZERO! How do you run an advertisement and not have the product you had advertised? Was this a marketing ploy to get you into the store to make other purchases? I was told to go online to order and have it shipped to the store. Cool right? Wrong! Unfortunately, online shows out of stock. Again Bass Pro, how do you run a special and not have the product in stock? There is a line of people waiting patiently to find out Bass Pro never had the advertised ammunition in stock. Totally bad service if you ask me. It gets better. No rain check or wishlist to get it at that price. Bass Pro failed on this one. read more

Just went in to check out some things at the hunting & firearms area. 5 different people working supposedly, but not with anyone at the counter except for one person. No one acknowledged anyone waiting for assistance. In fact, they tried to avoid eye contact. After a half hour, all of a sudden all but one person had left the counter and it took continuous staring on our part to finally be asked if we needed assistance. Of course, after all this complete lack of customer service to discover the item listed on the website for this store was not available and hadn't been for months. We won't be purchasing from here anytime soon, if ever. read more

Came here last week with my fiancé to purchase some last minute camping gear because we wanted to go camping for my birthday celebration! We were very pleased to find all the items that we were looking for such as: a foldable chair, portable stove, propane, hiking backpack, foldable table and warm gloves. There was a very nice employee that helped us find some items. I asked him if he could help us find where the portable stoves were located. He knew exactly where they were and walked us over to the aisle. He's very friendly and very helpful. He told us to let him know if there was anything else we needed. He even complimented me on my Sanrio T-Shirt, which honestly made my day! I think the items here are fairly priced. They do price match, so that's pretty neat. Some of the items like the warm gloves that my fiancé and I purchased actually ended being on sale! I was able to get a pair of gloves for only $4. That's a pretty good deal in my book! I also love the elevator. I know it sounds silly, but the clear window was fun to watch while going up and down the elevator. There's a lot to explore in the store. It kind of felt like I was at a wildlife exhibit. You get a shopping experience and some entertainment lol. The shop is also located in a plaza like area with the theatre being not too far from the shop. There is a parking lot here, so parking isn't too hard to find. Had never stepped foot in a Bass Pro store and it definitely did not look like I thought it would look. Upon entering the store, I felt like I was entering a cabin in Tahoe. The taxidermy animals that are everywhere are really cool! We spent way too much time fantasizing about what we would like our backyard to look like if we purchased a bunch of stuff from here lol.... Picked up some fishing stuff, which is why we originally came here in the first place. Found some Fried Chicken and Hush Puppy mixes, which I had to try. When we arrived at home, I found that the Fried Chicken container was missing the plastic seal, which is gross. I'll have to make the trip to exchange it. Other than that, it was a really cool experience, and I look forward to bringing the kids and have them gawking! read more

BPS is like a toys r us for any adult who is an outdoors person. This store is two-stories and you'll find everything from clothing, camping gear, boating/boats, fishing, fly fishing, hunting, guns, archery and so on. If you don't need any assistance, you will most likely find what you need here. If you need assistance, sometimes it can be difficult to find someone. This place gets very busy on the weekends and holidays. I highly recommend visiting during the week, because it is a lot slower and easier to find help. Sometimes you can get lucky and find one of the "old guys" that have a lot of knowledge in the department they work. I have found some of the gentleman working in fly fishing to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. As you will read in a lot of other reviews, the firearms department can be quite a long wait, especially on weekends. There is often a line to purchase/pick-up firearms and ammo. As for prices, I feel like most things are priced okay. Like anything else, sometimes you can find cheaper prices online from other stores. If you find items made by their brand (BPS & red head), you'll find some pretty good value. BPS will also mark items down specifically for club members. In order to be a club member, you will need to apply for the BPS Visa card. As of this review, they are offering 12 months 0% interest if you spend $500 or more. You will received a $20 credit to use towards purchase. You also get 2% back on in-store purchases and 1% back on outside purchases. If you apply in store, they will provide you with a card to use upon approval. BPS also has a rewards program. This is also a fun store for families to visit for the decor alone. There is a large fish tank near the stairs straight back from the entrance doors. If you find yourself in the Manteca area, it's worth a stop. read more

We came in looking for a hunting knife. The gentleman that helped us was very nice however the whole time we were in the establishment of the looks could cut glass. We stopped at the bathroom first please check in on the women's restroom it had paper on the floor and unflushed toilets we took the elevator up and the whole time we were asking questions etc the looks were awful.
