Maybe because it's a novelty for me, but I love Dicks! A simple burger that's soooo quick to order, and really nice cut and tasty fries. Don't be too worried about the line, it goes really fast - because everything is made ahead of time, and they are very efficient in getting your food quick. The one thing that I don't like is they charge extra for the tiniest things, however nothing is customizable but that makes for such rapid service. Very efficient workers, an old school vibe of burgers, shakes, and fries. This would be the Pacific Northwest's version of In and Out, in my opinion, but I actually like Dick's better. I've been to all the locations and I can't say the food is better here than at the others, but I can say this actual location is better. It's something about the interior that makes it stand out. Pretty high on the fast easy and cheap scale. Idk how many times this place has saved the day after bad budgeting. First time trying out the famous Dick's and I'm okay with never going back. I'll start with the cashier. He looked like he would rather do anything else than talk to me. I tried to ask a question about their milkshake and before I finished speaking his answer was already no. Okay, cool, wonderful. My milkshake was very watery and the cashier spilt like half of it on the milkshake spinner. The cup was disgustingly sticky and I had to wipe it down with some hand sanitizer in my bag and napkins to be able to hold it. Overall, it was okay. The fries were so soggy and sad looking. I found chunks of salt at the bottom of the bag and was shocked since the fries tasted like nothing. My family wasn't too impressed either. We felt like none of the food was hot, lukewarm at best. I thought maybe it was this location but this experience made me never want to try any of them. read more

The last time I have been in this location was YEARS ago when I was a teenager. It definitely looks much different since the last time I have been here. Visited late night on a Friday after a concert and it was jam packed. Two lines formed at either side of the entrance. There used to be a ton of seating available around the restaurant, but now there is limited seating along the edges of the restaurant where you can stand and eat or sit and eat... thats if you can find a chair. With so many people, it took about 30 minutes to get to the cashier and thankfully it only took a quick 2 minutes to order and get our food. Dick's burgers are the same no matter the location. Still great to me no matter where. Same with their milkshakes, still smooth and thick no matter the location. Landing in Seattle at 1am, I was worried there wouldn't be any food options available other than the usual Jack in the box. My friend recommended this place, claiming it's a Seattle staple. After picking up the rental, we rushed our way over here. We made it at 1:58am!! There were two cars leaving the parking lot and we were so scared we were too late. Our other friend got out of the car to check while we parked. We were the last ones for the night, and luckily they were willing to serve us still. The restaurant was cute! Food a banging 10/10 and somehow this place has not been effected by inflation one bit. Paid $3 for a burger I've never done that in my whole life. My food was ready before I even went to grab a chair, and the milkshake (strawberry) was utterly (ha) delicious. Thickness was perfectly suckable and must have some anti brain freeze agent in it because I put it down at an unprecedented rate.Left absolutely no crumbs on the French Fry's, thin crispy fries with bits of skin on em so you know dey 100% Idaho potao. Burgers were beyond words. The angus was anguing big time bun nice and fluffy, they tasted what I imagine Krusty Krab burgers to tasted like (that's a super high honor). Knew this spot was a must when we were in town, and it lived up to our expectations. We walked on over after a concert and it seemed like everyone else had too. The line was out the door and there were people everywhere. At one point they closed down one side of the doors and made it to where there was only one point of entry with security. We waited about 30 mins in line. The menu is simple which make it easy to order. The employee was friendly amidst all the chaos that was going on. We ordered easy stuff and so we receievd our order right away. Walked on back to our hotel room and dug in. The burger was good. It had flavor and it was really juicy. A little bit too juicy with all the juice that was dripping down my mouth ;) The fries weren't my favorite, too greasy for my liking and they were too soggy. The shake was greaaaaat. I guess I was expecting it to be better considering all the hype around this place. The menu is very straight forward. Surprised to see no tomatoes on any of the burgers but I was okay with out them because usually I'm not a fan. The inside has no tables whatsoever its mainly for the long lines. There are standing places that wraps around the walls for you to stand and eat your food though. I ended up getting a deluxe burger, fries and strawberry milkshake. Shake was 10/10 loved the thickness of it and strawberry flavor wasn't too sweet Fries 3/10 they were too soggy and limp for being made fresh. I like my fries to be crispy or at least have most of its shape. Deluxe burger 6/10- It wasn't bad but it wasn't like omgggg It reminded me of In N out but not as great. I did like that the burger wasn't drenched and soggy like how In N outs usually is. The bun was good. Patties were a little on the smaller side. They kinda remind me of Five Guys fries except less greasy and without the Cajun seasoning. The chocolate shake tastes just like the In-N-Out one but actually drinkable right upon receiving it (sometimes In-N-Out shakes are way too thick). It was so fun for me to yell at my cousin to "Eat a Dick ! " I've been to Dick's in Kent a few times and decided to stop in with my favorite cousin at this Queen Anne Dick's location which is conveniently located across the street from the SIFF uptown cinema where we went to attend a movie premiere hosted by Yelp for the Yelp Elites. The set up at this location is definitely a bit different from Kent as people stand outside in line for their orders in Kent, this Seattle location has a building you go into ... it's a bit of an odd set up when you get in there as there's like a counter around the back of the building that you can set your dicks on and eat 'em but you'll be standing up eating. No chairs or stools to be found here which I guess works, they are pretty small burgers so it's not like you'd be spending that much time there eating anyways but it still looks strange to me. It was pretty busy and there were a couple shady looking characters in the crowd but overall the line went fast and we didn't run into any issues. The person who took our order was very pleasant and he fulfilled our order fast. Our strawberry and chocolate ice cream concoctions were a nice cool treat and we both got a deluxe dick because if you're gonna eat a dick it may as well be deluxe, right? The burgers were good.. on the smaller side, think White Castle size but a bit bigger if you go for the deluxe. One thing I really would have liked to have seen is an option to add sliced tomato as they don't have tomatoes at all. I mean Tomatoes .. what can't they do? Vote? drive? I've been coming to this place since my first concert at The Coliseum aka KEY ARENA Having grown up on DICK's burgers I consider myself a spokesman for the best late night greasy fries & burgers joint around. Now I'll grab a Dicks Deluxe anytime of day, yet nothing tops off a night of boozing & chasing women like the taste of Dicks Drive Inn at 1:30 in the morning. THE DELUXE my favorite burger is a combination of 2 meat patties, lettuce cheese & sauce slapped onto a bun. The fresh cut fires made on the premises and served with either a Coke or handmade strawberry milkshake to cap off a prefect night. Well, only one thing better is when you've manage pull in special friend with you ( wink wink ) to share it with. Not much has changed over the years. Dick's has manage to keep a very basic menu with 4 choices. The Hamburger , Cheeseburger, Special & Deluxe are your Burger choices along with french fries that are hand cut from fresh potato's on the premises for quality. Ice cream scoops & milkshakes for those desiring something sweet or if your maintaining a vegan diet yet just wanna participate in the institution. Parking is on the premise so you won't have any worries about parking. Meals are served fast and hot. And on occasion you may wait in line but that's because others want what you want. Every one in Seattle said i had to get Dick's into my mouth. It is highly reviewed and you can see pics of Bill Gates standing in line waiting for Dick's. Naturally, I suppose, I wanted to know what Dick's taste like. Was surprised when there were huge lines and that the restaurant was just a big empty room with people all waiting to eat Dick's. For that huge throng, there was only one tiny bathroom with one singular urinal and a hugely oversized accessible toilet. Wild. It was late like near midnight and it was rush hour of people wanting Dick's. The burger is simple and small and the fries are overflowing but you don't get ketchup unless you knew you had to pay extra for that. I came to see what the fuss was about to have Dick's in my mouth and when I got it in my mouth I ate it and it was all done super quick. You can eat most burgers everywhere and they aren't as good as the taste of Dicks. True story I discovered in Seattle. They had a small counter around the edge of the room if folk Jonesing for Dicks and we stood while we consumed them. My friend loved the vanilla shake. You'd think by the size of the Crowd that it'd take long but the lines went quickly - the staff was blazing and made sure you didn't need to wait long for the Dicks you came for. It's not the best burger ever but few burgers get there and the small size making it easier to much, makes Dick's sizes a feature. Bigger isn't always better. Seattle's local cheap burger chain location in Lower Queen Anne. Due to covid, currently only open for takeout and there is no seating inside. Small menu with some variation of the hamburger/cheeseburger, fries, soft drinks, shakes and ice cream. Had a few people there during lunch on a Sunday. Ordered a deluxe burger (2 patties), fries and strawberry milkshake. Order was prepped quickly, probably because the menu is small so there is already deluxe burgers ready. The shake was the best of the bunch. The cup doesn't look big, but it was very creamy and flavorful, and takes a while to sip all of it. The burger was okay... maybe marginally better than a double cheeseburger from McDonald's and about the same as Burger King. The fries were limp. I like fries that are crunchy on the outside, so these were pretty bad. The whole order was $11 which wasn't that cheap. Now that I've tried it, I'd rather go to a Burger King or other fast food burger chain instead. read more

I usually go to their other location over in Capitol Hill. However I was in the Queen Anne area back in June and stopped in here for a couple of burgers. What sets them apart from other fast food burger restaurants are their unique special and deluxe burgers. Both come with lettuce, mayonnaise, and chopped pickle. I will always go with the deluxe to get the added cheese and extra patty. I love McDonald's, but these are better than the tried and true, Big Mac. For this visit, I got my usual order, 2 deluxe burgers. I ate them inside the restaurant. There weren't any tables or anywhere to sit down. There isn't many seats to sit but we were lucky to find a few spots open. I ordered their cheeseburger, fried and a chocolate milkshake. Their cheeseburger is nothing special and pretty dry. Looks exactly like a mcdonald's one. Fries were dry too and oily. The milkshake was very liquidy and i prefer mine to be on the thicker side. Ah Dick's! A Seattle classic, akin to California's In-n-out, you get a decent smash burger at a reasonable price. There's nothing fancy here, but you can feel good knowing that you're getting fresh, local ingredients, and supporting a local business whose employees get paid fair wages. The prices have gone up but I suppose that's the price you pay for everything I mentioned above (plus inflation). The lay out is weird, in that there are no tables just a big empty space in the middle and the outer edges are lined with a counter and a stool every few feet. Not a good place to sit and hang in essence. They also don't give you a number or take your name so if they don't immediately give you your food, you just stand by the counter until whoever took your order makes eye contact with you and motions you up. It's a no-nonsense kind of place but if you know what to expect then totally worth it! The fries are similar to McDonald's and they have delicious old fashioned milk shakes! Yum! read more

I wish the company cared at all about food quality after he passed away, but they don't. My daughter and I went to Dick's in Lower Queen Anne before hitting the SIFF Uptown for a movie. We ordered the Special burger, a plain hamburger, fries and a chocolate shake. The bun on my daughter's hamburger was stuck to the burger, obviously having been frozen and insufficiently thawed before cooking. The fries were soggy and inedible. The staff were efficient enough, albeit distracted and mot particularly friendly. The strawberry shake was the only good part of the meal, and why this review got two stars instead of just one. My daughter dumped her nasty burger, I dumped the soggy fries, and we headed to Taco Bell a few blocks away. When I booked a flight to Seattle, I was hoping there'd be an In n' Out there since it's the West Coast. Unfortunately, there was not. But I found Dick's Drive In instead, which had a similar style to In n Out in the sense that they only have a small menu of burgers and shakes. So my fiancé and I decided to try it out. We came to this location because it was close to the Pacific Science Center, where we had tickets for the Laser Show and had some time to kill beforehand. We ordered the Deluxe (1/4 lb beef, cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, chopped pickle - condiments like ketchup, onions, mustard, and tartar are 5 cents extra...strange, I know), fries, and a strawberry shake to share. Everything was very underwhelming. The burger was okay at best but it was kind of haphazardly thrown together (complete opposite of In n Out where they're tucked into cozy sleeves). The fries were soggy with grease - I could only stomach a few). The shake was way too sweet. Bottom line - definitely not the In n Out of the Pacific Northwest and I would never come back. To be desired. I read reviews (saying it's WAs "in and out") and wanted to be cheap so I figured I'd give it a try. I should have gotten a plain cheeseburger-probably would have been a little better. It's definitely nothing like "in and out burger." The patties are thicker, produce is not as fresh and it's not Russian dressing/sauce. Dick's sauce is like mayo and sweet relish mixed. Which brings me to the next issue. I love dill pickles, especially on my burger. But hate relish. The ingredients on a deluxe states pickles. That's definitely not what's going on here. Lol If I had to compare it to a fast food joint I'd say it's like an inferior "Wendy's" or "Jack I in the box." If you're a Cali kid and considering it, I'd say skip it or just know you might hate it and you're only out $3-10.
