Dang, this was GOOD. You know when you want a burger that isn't as "real tasting" as your local resteraunt or homemade, but that also isn't as "fake tasting" as McDonalds? This is that. It's perfectly in the middle. It's own burger category, in my opinion. Veggies crazy fresh, not overly salty, delicious and hit the spot. Reminds me of one of my favorite burger joints in U.W area - a halal spot called Aladdin Charburger. But I'd say this has a leg up in the veggie department. A friend compared them to Five Guys - never had so can't say. Fries taste like Dick's burgers fries so if you like that, you'll like these. I don't. Good, but scratches a "potato" craving rather than a "French fry" craving - if you know, you know. It's like baked potatoes in skinny form. Delicious when you want a true potato taste like a steak fries, but not perfect when you want a "true" crispy, fast food, or college food court French fry vibe. The milkshake was crazy thick and amazing texture. They also have malt vinegar and folks were kind and to the point service wise. I got the big woody w extra lettuce. Also got the Smokey one. It was super good but they tasted similar and if I had to choose again, I'd go for the big woody or little woody again. Recommend ! Also: service crazy fast. After waiting 20 minutes with no update, I asked about my order and was then told there had been a change in cooks and it would take another 25 minutes. That's a huge difference from what was promised, especially when traveling. I requested a refund, which was given, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Lil Woody's is my go-to neighborhood place when I want a burger but don't want to travel longer than 15 minutes to my favorite spot in SoDo. So I would say convenient location makes up half this rating. I have only tried the LIL WOODY itself, and that's defaulted to my regular order whenever I came here. I appreciated that it's made on the spot fresh and the venue itself is clean and friendly. However since having a baby I've only gotten takeout so I have to take ambiance out of the equation. Also I'm very particular about what goes in my burger.The LIL WOODY itself is a fine basic burger but I resent having to pay extra for fresh lettuce and tomato. Also the fries are in competition with Dick's for worst bunch of soggy limpness to the point where I've stopped ordering them every time. I revisit the idea of getting fries with my burger here every once in awhile and quickly get reminded of how dumb my impulses can be. The staff was ok however everything was a fail. I should have just got on my plane hungry. The Tap beer was flat or stale so they need to change out the Sam Adam's if they read this. They messed up a burger. I saw the burgers everywhere around me and man it is grade D. Good ambience nice looking place really looked like very promising, but I will tell you I had to pay extra for lettuce on the burger, which is no problem. I don't mind paying however if they didn't bring me this lettuce which I had to ask for three times they finally remember after not forgetting to charge me for it. I had heard really good things about Lil Woodys, and finally was in the Capitol Hill neighborhood to give it a try. Service was pretty quick, and you can also order online which is a bonus. I ordered the "Smoked Out" Burger and added a second patty as well as bacon. With the added patty the burger was just the right amount of juicy and had all the flavorful savory and smoky notes I was expecting. I also tried the fries which were well seasoned and tasted very fresh. They have a pretty big menu, so I am excited to come back and try more at Lil Woody's, I think this is definitely one of the better burgers in Seattle. read more

Recently moved to the area and wanted to try and local burger shop and lil woody's didnt disappoint! We got 2 big woody's a basket of fries and a chocolate shake. The burgers were very juicy, flavorful and well worth the price. We shared the basket of fries which was more than enough. I'd say they are shoestring fries which may or may not be your taste. I wanted food and was a bit skeptical when it said that it comes topped with Tillamook cheddar rather than good ol' fashioned freedom cheese (American Cheese) because I believe that the burger is the spiritual home of American cheese but I gave it a shot nonetheless. I ordered the hand cut fries along side, and when it comes to fries I tend to be a book cover judger (?). The food came out and the burgers laid on TOP of the fries, Jesus Mary. I took a big meaty bite and was pleasantly surprised, the burger was pretty seasoned and the Tillamook cheddar was quite fitting despite my initial discrimination. I have given many burger reviews and have become kind of a snob, like woke Gumball alludes to, a lot of Americans kind of are. I can't say that this was outstanding and memorable but if I lived in Seattle, this place could be seen as pretty reliable as a regular burger location. Oh yeah also the fries were pretty good but needed some more seasoning and I really wish that sauces didn't cost 50 cents because that just seems a little mean, I'm just a boy. Close to the Seattle Convention Center. I ordered takeout on the phone on the website - took about 15 min. Came over and picked it up and drove to Kerry Park to eat them. I got the Special (Thai flavored) and it was really good!! I didn't get the fries so all I can comment on is the burger. It wasn't really Thai flavors but it was a little different and it was nice. Be adventurous Yelpers and get the special! But I also do love a good old-fashioned burger too so I will have to return to Seattle to try that. Decided to try Lil Woody's after a Broadway show and they were open until midnight weekdays. The store was empty though some other folks swung by to place to-go orders. You are expected to bus your own trays, but the restaurant still felt pretty clean. Sauces (mayo, ranch, etc.) are extra, but they do have some communal squeeze bottles of ketchup and mustard available. The most unique part about Lil Woody's is their rotating menu where they collaborate with other local chefs for special burgers - the one I got to try (Lil Dub Dub) I actually enjoyed more than their signature. Big Woody (3.25/5): I just felt like the ratios were a little off. A little too much lettuce, not enough beef - overall, it was kinda just okay and it drops you like 10 bucks. Basket of Fries (0.5/5): The portion is pretty generous, but MY GOD IT'S BADDD. I have no idea how they accomplished this, but the fries felt like they were boiled in oil instead of fried?? Super soggy, completely soaked through with grease. Dutch Chocolate Shake (4.25/5): Not quite as smooth as it could be as there were some ice crystals still, but surprisingly super delicious. The upstairs seating area is also compact, featuring a lengthy table in the center that can seat approximately 6 to 7 adults, along with smaller tables surrounding it. A rather large menu is displayed on the right-hand wall. The menu exclusively offers à la carte options. I ordered the Buffalo Fried Chicken Sandwich, while my friend ordered the Queso Fries, which was a large enough portion for sharing. Regrettably, the Buffalo Chicken lacked the expected spiciness, featuring a surprisingly sweet sauce. Additionally, the slaw topping would have been a nice touch to counterbalance the heat, had there been any. The fries were the most underwhelming aspect of the meal. They tasted like unseasoned, greasy cardboard sticks. The only saving grace was the queso, although there was a missing element that I couldn't quite pinpoint. On a positive note, the establishment is actively involved in supporting the local arts community, demonstrating environmental consciousness through recycling initiatives, and participating in the Burger 4 Burger program. The first time I had Lil' Woody's, I had the fig and the pig. It was so so so so good. I think that was because it was just unique. The quality of the bun and patty were great too. Absolutely delicious! While they do get busy, they are extremely fast! I don't think it even took 2 minutes to get my food. The fries have very little flavor, are lumpy (I prefer a little crunch), but thankfully not too greasy. I ordered the Big Woody and it was full of flavor, but a complete mess to eat. Since I told her that I already had a burger a Dick's, she recommended that I try out Li'l Woody. It was a short walk over from the hotel. I thought about eating it there, but I decided to get their Big Woody to-go and just enjoy it back at my room. It was a quarter pound Royal Ranch all natural grass fed beef patty, Hills bacon, Tillamook cheddar, chopped onions, diced pickles, tomato slices, lettuce, ketchup and mayo. It was a short wait for my order to be ready. It was not bad with good ingredients, but nothing spectacular. The idea of chefs from well known Seattle restaurants designing weekly burgers is a wonderful idea but in practice, the execution falls short. The chicken in the Pyanggang was overbreaded and overfried. In general I've come to find that Li'l Woody's fries are soggy, their burgers oversauced, to the point where you wonder if the simple, underwhelming Dick's burger is better. Got the lil woody and the basket of fries to go. Took ~10mins to come out. Burger was decent. I think the party was a bit under seasoned and the toppings did a lot of the heavy lifting. He bun was a little too sweet for my taste but was soft and had good texture. It was pretty messy in the bag, and a little greasy so make sure you have napkins. The fries sucked. I opened the bag maybe like 5 mins after I got the order, and they were just soggy and sad. They had no crisp at all, and the flavor wasn't there either. Just kinda greasy sad fry shaped potato. Li'l Woody's is a great burger place in Capitol Hill. It features some unique burgers. I ordered something called the Pendelton and some onion rings. The Pendelton comes with BBW sauce, Tillamok Cheddar, and an onion ring (also mayo which was not on the menu, but thankfully just on one bun so it was easy to scrape off). It is a large 1/4 burger and cooked perfectly. The cheese was great and the bun worked perfect. Then all the onion rings were very good and it was a really good portion.
