Do not tell them that you have a Groupon certificate until after you have ordered and it's time to pay for your food. Went there on Thursday, 30 April had a $100 certificate from Groupon. I wanted to make sure that it was redeemable before I placed my order. I showed the man behind the counter. At first he seemed like he didn't know what universe he was in and then he agreed that I could use it. Everything I was given from the completely burnt pieces of brisket. To the ice cold bread that was taken out of the refrigerator and never heated. To the fact that I had to ask for a barbecue sauce to go and ask for a plate plates and utensils. The experience was horrible. The only thing that I liked was the loaded mashed potatoes and the potato salad and I assume the reason for that is cause that it was premade and I wasn't intentionally given horrible portions of food because I use the Groupon coupon. read more

Haven't been to a Dickey's in a long time; came in for the Friday special - pulled pork plate with baked potato casserole and fried okra, a biscuit and a drink for $14.49. The normal price is $20 for a 1 meat plate and that doesn't come with a drink. Food is good and definitely better with the bbq sauce. Free ice cream machine broke down and they never replaced it. I feel their prices are a little high for what we get compared to other barbecue places I've eaten. The bacon on my brisket fries was cold. The service was good and the food was ok . This place was absolutely disgusting , super disappointed. For the price I paid I would expect a fresh hot meal not food just kept in warmers all day. My food was disgusting, dry , and cold. One of the guys working seem to have an attitude and acted as if he was bothered by customers coming in. Never again will I be returning to a Dickey's because of this experience. Extremely disappointed as a first and last time customer. I would suggest a different bbq place if you don't want food that taste like it was heated up in the morning and just sat in containers all day. read more

This is traditionally, my favorite barbecue in the area. Probably because I consider Texas home and this barbecue comes out of Texas. However, the last time I was here the ice cream machine was on the fritz and they said they were fixing it and it would be back. Today I was told that the ice cream machine would no longer be there which is really sad because that's part of the experience of coming to eat barbecue at Dickeys. Not only was there nobody there at 6:15 PM and only two delivery people picking up orders in the hour that we were there, the two people holding down the store were in the back for most of the time. This would not have been such an issue, except Tables had barbecue sauce and food particles on them, and this could've been taken care of while they were no customers. The vending machine was out of ice which is not uncommon and one gentleman before me was going crazy on the ice with several large cups. But to have to strike the machine to get the soda to come out of it each time I left it to go eat and would return was extreme. They need to fix this. I hate to say it, but I'm worried that this place is going to go out of business if they don't take care of these things. The barbecue was just as it always is and the sauce was good. Everything was good about the food and drink. We actually had. I really hope that they fix the ice cream machine and the soda machine and keep things stocked. read more

As much as I loved Dickey's, I can't get behind this one. Walked in around 6pm on a Saturday night with both employees sitting at a table watching the basketball game on TV. When I walked in, they looked annoyed that they would have to do their jobs. I got the three meat plate, and all three meats were cold as all can be. The brisket was very tough with not much flavor, the sausage was cut in huge chunks, and the pulled pork was not very "pulled." When getting the bbq sauces, all three of the kids were wide open, thus who knows what food / other particles were hanging out in there. Other simple things such as three sodas did not have syrup in them, there were no napkins in any of the holders, and again it just seemed the restaurant was in total chaos. What was good? The Mac and cheese and baked beans did have good flavor, but that's about it. I won't be coming back to this location. read more
