If you're looking for fast-casual BBQ, this place is worth the try. I placed an online order for pick up: 3 meat plate (sliced Beef Brisket, Polish Kielbasa Sausage, Pork Ribs) with baked potato casserole and fried okra as my sides. I had to wait a bit since they fried the okra to order, which I appreciate! Worth the wait. The baked potato casserole, definitely a recommend! And the toast that came with, it's good. I see some competition there with raising canes. Only downside from this meal was the brisket, it was a little dry. Sausage and pork ribs were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Ok well, only the 2nd time eating at a Dickeys but not bad. Those breads they give you though are funny cause they are super tiny and can be eaten in basically two bites. Secondly I believe my meal cost very close to $20 bucks, yikes! That price point is more than likely keeping us from continuing to come back. I can go to a sit down and pay just as much as the meals here, yeesh. Besides that, there was hardly anyone there so it was quiet. Don't do it! Unless boiled bbq is your thing. The only thing that is somewhat palatable is the brisket sandwich and that's only if you're starving and don't want a hamburger from somewhere else. The food here is terrible. It tastes mass produced like maybe they prepare it in a big warehouse somewhere and then ship it to site in boilable bags. Its awful! Drive a couple miles west to Jake's in Monrovia. That's where the real BBQ is served. read more

Fries were underwhelming. Not hot. Not crispy. No ice cream!!!!!!!! So sad. It was hot in the restaurant. Not a pleasant place to sit. Maybe the AC was broken? It was not busy - we were the only ones in the restaurant when we ordered. I saw 2-3 employees. We still had to wait what felt like a long time for our food. Then we kept waiting and waiting for one sandwich. We went and asked, and they just said "yeah, it's coming". Something more along the lines of - sorry for the delay it will be right out, would have been more appropriate. I think they just completely forgot about the sandwich. Each interaction with employees was lacking energy, enthusiasm, and helpfulness. Real Debbie downer feel. And no ice cream!! The prices at this location come up more than listed prices on the app. Dickeys is pricey for fast food - especially if you get the overpriced yellow cup drink but I have l justified the cost over the years with the ice cream fun. Placed my order online about 3 hours prior to my desired pick up time. I arrived about 8 minutes early and walked in. There were 2 employees behind the counter, 3 people waiting in line to place their orders, 1 person in line waiting to pick up their order and then me. It took about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me and asked how they can help me. I told the man, that I was there for an online order, gave him my name and the order. My food was ready and waiting for me, they just needed to back up the rolls. I eventually walked out of there 8 minutes after my pick up time. Not bad, but I think they can use more employees, especially during the peak times. Parking: there's plenty of it. It's located at the far end of the plaza (opposite of the Target). I ordered the XL pack (3 meats) and 3 medium sides and 8 rolls. The Chicken Breast, Pork burnt ends and the pork ribs we're all super tender and juicy! The pork just fell off the bone. The bbq sauce is on the side - which is great, since my family is not big fans of BBQ sauce in general. The one we ordered with the meal was the sweet version, so it was a good. I used it in moderation. The sides we got were Cabbage Slaw, Creamed Spinach and the potato salad. The slaw was good and the creamed spinach was just a tad rich. The potato salad was my favorite side out of them all - nice chunks of potato. Based on the quality of the food - I would come back, but they truly need more help behind the counter. read more

This Dickey's Barbecue Pit location can be found in the same plaza as Target, specifically next door to the T-Mobile store. I came to this location twice and both times the service was just average. The first time I came, I made an order online and picked my order in the afternoon on a Sunday. The female employee gave me a hard time when picking up my order because it didn't have my name on it. When I made my order online, it never asked for my name but I had written in the comments to request for the barbecue sauce to be placed on the side. When I came a second time, I ordered online and chose to have pick up time at 11:30 am (the store opens at 11 am) on a Thursday and still had to wait another 30 minutes after I arrived for my order to be ready. Over these two visits, this is what I ordered: Pulled Pork Sandwich, $7.99 prior to tax ($8.81 after tax)- I ordered this for my mom and she really liked it. I did not have any but my mom thought the pork was tender and thought it was a good portion size for her (she is typically a small eater). Turkey Classic Sandwich, $8.25 prior to tax ($9.10 after)- I opted to get myself a turkey sandwich. The amount of turkey was nice and meaty and thick slices. But I thought the turkey was too smoky, which I did not like. I know Dickey's Barbecue Pit is known for barbecue but I think the smoky flavor is a bit too overkill. Good Old American Barbecue. My 1st time at Dickeys. Decided to get some barbecue here. I chose the Thursday special which is jalapeno cheddar kielbasa & pulled pork plate. For my 2 sides I chose mac & cheese with asiago cheese creamed spinach. Got a corn bread muffin too. I also got spicy barbecue sauce and Texas hot barbecue sauce. This meal came out to 13 dollars which is pretty decent because bbq is on the pricier side. I really enjoyed everything. The meats were great. The sides were good especially that creamed spinach. Oh man I'm coming back just for that. I especially like the fact that the sauce is on the side because I don't like my bbq smothered and wet. I'm a dipper lol. Omg I just spit out a piece of bone that was in the creamed spinach. So that's why I gave it 3 stars. read more

I've been coming to this location for years, but I most likely won't be returning anymore after what happened yesterday. I know from past experience, the manager's demeanor isn't very friendly. It's hard to pinpoint what it is about him, but it's not like he's trying to be mean. He's just not warm and friendly. Unapproachable so to speak. Anyway. I would go there for the food. But, over the years, their quality has dwindled. I decided to use their app for the first time to place my order. I picked 730pm. Simple, right? Not really. I ordered two kids chicken nugget meals and a meat plate. I arrive on time and the place is empty. I expected my order to be ready. I approach employee and told him I was there to pick up a mobile order for a 730pm pick up. He looks at the ticket still hanging eye level to him and said, "Okay." I realized my order hasn't even been prepared! I checked the app prior and my order was "in the cue" the entire time. Mind you, I had placed my order 45 minutes prior. I wait around.... The manager comes over and tells me they're wrapping my order up. Okay.... 10 minutes pass.... Then, he tells me be needs to fry the nuggets. I asked why my order wasn't ready yet since I specially chose a 730pm pick up. His response was, "We don't fry anything until you come in so it stays fresh. It'll be quick. Two and a half minutes." Very aggravating. Fresh? Those are frozen Dino nuggets. You don't fry things until we arrive? What's the point in having a pickup option then? You want fresh? You don't start baking the rolls or smoking the meats as soon as your patrons arrive. Just doesn't make any sense. An additional 15 minutes go by.... it's already 8pm and I'm still waiting. If the food gets cold, that's on me, not you. Your responsibility is to deliver quality food at the time of pick up. I didn't appreciate the way he spoke to me and the other patrons after me either. It was condescending and unnecessary. I understand that we are all having a hard time right now, but I don't want to be treated rudely. It's not difficult to be kind to one another. I get home and realized how burnt the nuggets were. So burnt, they shrunk. I should've taken a picture of it. Ugh. The chicken was super dry and the whole experience was bothersome. I'll just go to the Pasadena location from now on. It's further, but I'll do that to avoid what happened to me. read more

Ate here 2/1/2024 at 6:20pm. Wanted to order the smoke turkey, found out it's discontinued. Main reason I came. Major disappointment. Ended up ordering the 3 meat plate: Double Brisket and Jalapeño sausage. It was this or go to the Spaghetti Factory. Was not in the mood for pasta. Meats came out of a holding tank. Was cool, very minimal warmth. Why is it so difficult to get meat that is at the very least warm. Hot is asking too much apparently. Food not flavorful when it's cool. Based on not having smoked turkey, and food lacking any warmth, will not be returning. At least I got an extra $5 off with the Entertainment Book, but would gladly have paid extra for hotter food. read more

It was my first time here and I was quite impressed with this place. Had to go here for work and I wasn't too sure what to expect. Don't get me wrong, I love bbq so I was more than happy to try it. I think the service was made it good for me, especially after reading some reviews..I don't know about you but I always look for the low stars and read what they say and set my expectations to those reviews. Thankfully, what everyone said about the higher reviews are correct. The guy I talked to, Dean, was super friendly and helpful. I called in a last minute catering order snd he was more than Happy to help. Gave great suggestions and it all turned out well. The brisket was delicious, tender and not dry at all. Also had one of their sandwiches and some ribs. Not disappointing. Not the best, but definitely hit the spot. I will definitely be back to try some other random things. Oh, almost forgot the sides! Mac and cheese and that new sweet corn thing they have. It was sweet and spicy. Yum! I probably should sign up for their rewards program so I can get some free stuff the more I frequent this place. I've seen Dickey's dozens of times while going to Target in the same plaza, but was reluctant based on friends' warnings in a foodie group. But a great incentive presented itself, I found a promotional deal online, so we went. Inside it's obviously a place for folks to eat Q and watch sports. ESPN was on 2 of the 3 TVs. There are some b&w photos on the wall, one of the late R. Reagan. After studying the menu, we decided on the following: 1/2 lb of brisket. He never asked if I wanted sliced or chopped, so I ended up with chopped. There was absolutely no flavor without the sauce. And about 1/3 of that was inedible fat. See my photo. It seems like a very cheap cut of meat so the only way to disguise it was to chop it up and mix it with the lean meat. I did not get my 1/2 lb of edible brisket. Of course, I ordered the ribs. Better flavor, but again, needed sauce or it's just mildly seasoned. Some pieces were tender and some were hard like jerky. All needed some more their seasoning. Beans, a small order for $2.50. Not worth it. It was decent but tasted like the canned stuff that I had before. Fried okra was ok. Needed a little salt. Corn bread muffin were also ok. But there was nothing memorable about any of the sides. The service was no better. The only one that had any personality was the younger guy that prepared the orders. An older tall guy that was either the manager or franchise owner appeared he really did not like us being there. No greetings, smiles or any conversation. The only time he spoke to us was when we asked for our order, then walked away so I had to repeat everything to the younger guy. And we spoke again when I gave him my phone to use the online deal, he gave the phone back to me in an accusatory tone saying it's already been used, as if we're trying to scam him. After I fiddled around with my phone, I was able to show him the deal again which he reluctantly took, then handing it back to me with no words or eye contact. No thank you's, no enjoy your meal ... nothing. A girl cashier appeared to be related to him. I walked to the counter to ask for a bag. I stood right next to a customer she was helping. When they were done, she walks away pretending she didn't see me. Then comes back a short time later, hands me a bag w/ no eye contact and no words. This is probably the most 'Unwelcome' I've felt at a business, ever. The food was already underwhelming, but toss in some lousy customer relations, and you got yourself a business that doesn't like customers. I'll be very surprised if they're still here in a couple of years. Now I get to go back and tell my friends they were right. Awesome.
