Corner spot on the south end of downtown Monrovia. Lots of parking behind the restaurant and on the street. Love the look and feel of J B. This is the local joint every neighborhood would want: a place to hang out that's clean, organized, well-staffed and offers food that won't break your bank. Ordered the following: - Double cheeseburger - 7/10: Solid charbroiled burger. Nothing too fancy. Just your standard classic burger with all the fixings. Not too big, not too small. Patties are large and fit nicely into the buns. - Chili cheese fries - 7/10: Comes in two sizes - small and large. Small is perfect for one. Generous portions of cheese and chili. Another solid dish. If I'm in the area, will definitely come back as a good time was had by all!

Fluffy delicious breakfast burrito came with amazing salsa on the side.

We got a breakfast burrito here before our hike. Huge burrito with amazing salsa on the side. Great service and I loved sitting at the outdoor "bar".

    Carne Asada Taco to go

Good food, great price, and friendly employees. JB Burgers offers breakfast, burgers, hot dogs, salads, sandwiches, and American and Mexican style meals. I tend to order the same thing to go. Order at the window or call ahead to place your order. Credit card accepted. FOOD ORDERED - Cheeseburger ($5.45). A wide and thin burger that tastes fresh and good without being greasy. I usually order everything on it except for onion, so it comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and housemade thousand island dressing. My fiance sometimes gets the regular cheeseburger and adds bacon for $2. The bacon is thick and crispy, but adds a lot of oil. - Breakfast Burrito with bacon ($10 + $2.5 avocado). A solid breakfast burrito option. The scrambled eggs were well done, and the large pieces of diced bacon were thick and crispy. However, the slabs of creamy russet potato, melted cheese, and soft tortilla made the overall texture a bit soft for my liking. The burrito was served with a tangy, herby green salsa that kind of tasted like tomatillo and Italian dressing. - Hard Shell Ground Beef Taco ($4.50). This had ground beef, cold cheese, lettuce, tomato, and raw onion. While the taco was tasty, it was excessively oily. After wrapping it up in napkins to drain for 5 minutes, it still doused my fingers in oil! - Carne Asada Taco ($5.50). It was alright. The taste was kind of like an American-Mexican taco. The portion was large, essentially two tacos in one. Beef, lettuce, and green salsa topped double corn tortillas. The carne asada was just okay, a little lacking in grill flavor. SIDES ORDERED - Chili Cheese Fries ($6.45 - small). This is my kryptonite. The savory chili tastes like a brown gravy with chunks of ground beef. The fries stay somewhat crispy under the generous topping of chili and shredded cheddar cheese. - Zucchini Fries ($6.45). It only comes in one size: a huge bag that serves at least 2 people. The breading adheres well to the tender zucchini spears, which have a wonderful vegetal flavor. It pairs well with their thick and creamy ranch. The only thing that could be better is maybe more herbs in the ranch. - Onion Rings ($6.45). I didn't enjoy these. The onion was bland and basically just tasted like the breadcrumb batter.

Burger and fries. It got the job done, no complaints!

It's an honest little burger joint filled with the nostalgic feeling of small town America and days long past. Admittedly nothing really to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The staff was pleasant to interact with. I'd definitely be happy to return here. Parking is not difficult to obtain in the area. There is a restroom present, but it's out in the back lot, and it appears you may need to ask for a key to use it.

The size of my grilled Chicken!

Very tasty and plentiful sandwiches. Steak was good sized . Grilled chicken was moist and too much for me to eat. I took 1/2 home and shared with the dog. Good plain tea, brewed. We came here because all regular places were closed. Love supporting locals, Thank you

I love onion rings and this place is top 3 on my list of best in LA. Always hot, crunchy, and never greasy. The burgers here are good, but when compared to other burger options in LA, I can only give this place a 4/5.

Great neighborhood burger spot! I get my hair done at Agence Salon and eye this place every time I drive by. Finally stopped by and I'm so happy I did. I was trying to find something satisfying that wouldn't be too heavy. This was perfect. I ate half while heading to my next errand and the rest when I got home. It was delicious!! The grilled chicken was moist and flavorful. Loaded with bacon, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. The bread was toasted but not too hard... didn't cut the roof of my mouth. I'll definitely be back for a breakfast burrito in the near future.

I think I found my new favorite local hamburger spot...JB Burger in downtown Monrovia. We ordered: - Fried Zucchini - Onion ring - Chicken club sandwich - Chili cheese fries - double cheeseburger Everything was really good, but I really really love their fried zucchini and their chili cheese fries is definitely one of the best around San Gabriel Valley area. I'm already craving it now that I'm writing the review. Will most likely be back next week for some more fried zucchini and chili cheese fries. Please make sure to check them out if you are near the Monrovia area. Friendly service, good prices, and you can go walk around old Town Monrovia.

J B Burger is located in Old Town Monrovia. Their slogan is "good and plenty at a reasonable price" and I concur that is indeed what I experienced. This was one of the best burger joints I've been to in the 626 area. They have a small price parking lot, but I opted for street parking. I went on a Saturday evening and there were many customers inside. You order from the inside or outside, and can find seating indoor. It's a narrow restaurant, but there are still a good amount of tables perfect for smaller parties. I got to try the cheese burger for $5.45 and the small chili cheese fries for $6.45. The food came out very quickly, so this is perfect for a quick meal. Additionally, the portions are what you'd expect for that price. I was blown away by the flavors. The burger is truly an American dinner cheese burger with the perfect amount of vegetables to patty and sauce. They did not skim on the chili sauce for the fries - every fry was sauced and cheesed. Overall, with the delicious taste and great prices, I'd definitely come back.

Visited this place after a morning bike ride with my buddy. Service was fast, the venue wasn't busy at all at 8 in the morning on a weekday, and the food was pretty cheap when the budget is tight! We got the regular breakfast platter, which wasn't anything to really rave about. The hash could be a little bit crispier as they were a little mushy when I got them, but the sourdough bread was toasted very nicely. Regardless it was decent food, at a good price!

2025 Monrovia Car Show. This great looking truck was parked in front of JB Burgers.

I arrived for the 2025 Monrovia Car Show about 9:30 am. Before I looked at all the cars I was hungry and felt like try JB Burgers. I ordered their Mix Breakfast Burrito. It comes with ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese and potatoes. I substituted beans instead of potatoes. After waiting about 10 minutes my order was called. I sat outside, because I had my dog Frankie with me. The burrito came with homemade salsa. Taking my first bit the flavors of the, good quality bacon, eggs and cheese were first to tickled my tastebuds. Their beans were awesome and the sausage and ham were equally delicious and for the great price for under $12 I just could not complain. Their salsa was good but it did not have too much heat. On my next visit I'll have to try one of their cheese burgers.

    Dave F.

Definitely not what locals are saying. 3 stars yes not 5 stars. Something cheap feeling going on here. Bacon is the worst around. Seriously a joke. Burger only food worth mentioning. Came here several times with locals from Monrovia. Every time it's a disappointment. Service usually consists of someone at counter arguing with someone or attitudes. Ambiance is what you would expect from small burger spot. Owners are cleaning up here financially and should invest in better ingredients or watch profits slide away. I would return only for a burger nothing else.

The bad: The prime rib was both overcooked and undercooked. It seemed like my portion was sliced off the original roast then cooked in a broiler. When it came out, the outer layer was cooked medium well. However, cutting into the meat revealed that it was still raw on the inside. I asked for medium rare, and I can recognize medium rare, but the meat inside was a dark red. That's raw or rare at best. I flagged down the waiter to send it back and he was very nice about it. The meat came back with the same problem. Outer layer was again cooked medium well since the meat was all light brown color, no pink at all. Cutting into it revealed a dark red meat inside. I took a few more bites but didn't want to send it back again. The chef was off that night and I didn't want to be a difficult customer. I would recommend something else on the menu, stay away from the prime rib.

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Both of them were very nice and attentive and offered a quality of service that far outmatched the quality of the food. The restaurant was pretty full already even at about 4:00-4:30 for an early dinner on a Sat and was quite noisy between the talking and background music.
