Wednesday special: combo burrito, taco and drink . The burrito is kind of smashed in this photo from sitting in the bag in my car.

Was out running errands today and wanted to get something for lunch. I was coming up on Taco Lita and thought why not as I haven't been hearing in quite a while. Today's special for Wednesday was the combo burrito with a taco and a drink for $13.75. Not a bad price for what they give you. The taco was so crispy and so fresh I was so glad I stopped and got lunch. They use the Heinz taco packets now and honestly, I love it. I could only get through about a quarter of the burrito before I got full. Basically it's beans, cheese and meat and it was massive. The service inside they were super friendly and very quick. I took the food to go so I didn't sit and stay.

Wanted to try this place since it seemed pretty popular. However was pretty disappointed with the food. Was craving tacos but they only have one option and it is a hard shell taco. The jumbo burrito was also not very appetizing and I don't think it even had any meat inside. The food was not satisfying at all. The staff are very friendly and keep the place clean.

For some, I'm sure the nostalgia keeps them coming back. For me, it was the first time and it was pretty much what I expected. A mom and pop Del Taco, with higher prices but slightly better flavors. The taco is definitely the standout as it's stuffed with meat and cheese. The combo burrito was mid. Beans, meat and cheese. Nothing really special. I guess they don't have their taco sauce anymore, so Heinz mild is all you get. I think a really good sauce would make this place stand out more, but Del scorcho is still the best sauce in the biz, so I guess I'll be going to Del Taco when I need my gringo taco fix. Glad I tried it and not mad that I did. Really would go back for their tacos if they only had better sauce. Service was fast and friendly, so that's definitely a plus.

    Ground beef taco

Sometimes you want a regular ground beef crispy taco with cheese and lettuce. Taco Lita is no nonsense. I had that craving and this place did not disappoint. The tacos were delicious and crispy. Just what I wanted. It could have been a little cheaper, but still better than Del Taco to satisfy the craving. I will be back.

Tacos were ok... burrito was the greasiest thing I have ever seen. How something can be dry and greasy at the same time? Yeah ask Taco Lita for that recipe... go to taco treat, del taco, even Taco Bell. 4 tacos, 2 bean and cheese burritos was $32. No drinks, no extras. Service was fast and friendly, restaurant was clean, but the food. I have been curious about this place for a while. Sadly this was terrible.

Off the top!! I will say this is not your authentic Mexican food place, very much American-Mexican if even that. You come here for the fresh loads of cheese and the sauce. I'd be surprised if the beans weren't from a can and that's okay, they serve their purpose. Ground beef, loads of cheese and fresh crisp lettuce and tomato. Sometimes you feel like that kind of burrito and/or tacos. Cheese lovers unite! Service is always great. Very fast, not a large menu so quick to make. Place has been here for years, a staple in the community and gives off that vibe. Very enjoyable if you're in the mood for it.

Old school since 1967. The Wednesday special for $10.70 includes a combo burrito, a hard shell taco, and a fountain drink. What a great deal and the food is the gringo style wanna be Mexican food that is yummy. The service was quick and the interior's bright orange tile decor reflects it's history. The only downside is that it's been four years since they offered their famous hot sauce packets.

Crunchy Taco. Just as it should be.

Est. 1967- Old school taco place. Looks like it should have a drive through, but it doesn't. Menu is very simple - Tacos, Burritos and Tostadas. That's about it, but that all you need at this place. Gotta love the crunchy, hard shell, tacos, served with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheese and tomato. They remind me of the cafeteria tacos we used to get in elementary school. The Combo, Burrito is big and filling (Meat, beans & Cheese). This place is clean and the service is friendly. Taco Lita, you still got it!

... what happened! They're so different now! They definitely use good, fresh ingredients, but they no longer have their famous sauce! They were very quick with my order, almost too fast... As soon as I ordered a burrito and paid, they called my number. That's fast. I hate to give 3-star but they only deserve it for no longer having their sauce. If they reach out to me, or bring back their sauce, then I'll remove this review and give 5-star. They have very clean tasting tacos and burritos. Theres basically no oil in the meat. A little bland to me, but very healthy. This might be your style.

Ask the Community - Taco Lita

    No drive-up window?

    Absolutely not.

Why no more Postmates delivery :(?

You should forward this question to Postmates directly.

When are you bringing the sauce back?!??????!!!

I have the same question! We went today and still no sauce. What is the deal?!

    Is the sauce back yet?

    Not yet ☹️

Is taco Lita opened during this pandemic?

The Facebook fan page says no. The back is too small to have the workers 6ft apart so the manager closed.

    Is this place Haunted?

It may be. Somehow the manufacturing company that packages the sauce messed up the order and shipped some second rate sauce packets a couple of weeks ago. A real horror. Could be a ghost.

    Do you deliver?

    No

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. We did run into a minor snag--the kitchen printer actually ran out of paper right as our order went through, which led to a bit of a delay. However, this is where the service truly shined. Rather than leaving us wondering, the staff was incredibly transparent and apologetic. They went above and beyond to make it right, surprising us with a round of drinks and a big bowl of fresh guacamole on the house while we waited. It's rare to find a place that handles a mistake with such grace and generosity. The tacos themselves were high-quality, flavorful, and very reasonably priced. Their Asada Tacos with red sauce is great; they give it a great char and their salsa roja is savory and smoky. I especially love their Al Pastor Tacos: spicy, tender pork, with the sweetness of fresh pineapple to give that extra brightness and acidity. By far one of the best Al Pastor tacos I have had in a while, and they get extra bonus points for topping theirs with pineapple as some tacos trucks in LA don't do that all the time. Just thinking about it and typing this makes me want to head there but I will just have to wait till next time. Pro tip - the sprinklers go off on Santa Anita Ave around 10:30 PM, and my friends and I got sprayed so be careful not to stand on the grass during that time.
