i'm so glad i stumbled upon this place when i was up in monrovia. I know when the brewery across the street is open, lots of people come here to get food. Anyways, this place is dirt cheap for the amount of food you get. They have dollar tacos on tuesdays. They have delicious and cheap sopes. They have burritos for 7 bucks, and you can pick from a variety of meats. (chicken, lengua, al pastor, barbacoa, carnitas, buche, chorizo, tripas, carne asada... etc) They are typically parked right across the Monrovia Fire Station on Myrtle street. read more

This taco truck might not look bright and colourful like the other taco trucks in the area, but this $1 Taco Tuesday coming out of this small, two-man operation is surely unbeatable! When there aren't too many Mexican restaurants nearby in this neighbourhood, this late night joint easily fills in that role with a dependable quality of tacos. The traditional menu offers sope and torta, but what stands out is the barbacoa. Few food trucks offer lamb slowly cooked in barbacoa style; at $1.50 for a taco barbacoa, the soft and tender lamb flavour naturally beats out all the other meat selections for me. With a really easygoing and friendly attitude, the welcoming service here already urges me back here again next Tuesday! I was hungry and this was close to me and it hit the spot! The truck was located about a block north of the directions given on Google (2062 S Myrtle Ave). It was parked on a long, wide, not particularly busy street. When I went at 9:30pm, it was very easy to just pull up behind the truck. In the 20 minutes that I was there, about seven other parties came up to get tacos which I thought was a surprisingly high number of people considering what a random location we were in. It was taco Tuesday!!! $1 tacos!!! Tacos hit the spot. It's not like ... WAIT IN LINE tacos. But there's barely a line! The people are friendly, they give a huge helping of radishes, GIANT limes, and cucumber slices. They had three little plastic stools available for sitting. We were the only people to sit and eat. It is a taco truck and exactly what you expect out of a street-side taco truck. It's 3-star food but they get an extra star because they take credit cards and phone orders. Friendly service. I wouldn't come here as a first option, but if you need a quick burrito on a weeknight and don't want to spend more than 5 minutes on it, this will do. read more

My partner and I continuously pick up dinner here. We have tried just about everything: wet burrito, torta, tacos, quesobirria tacos, chicken quesadilla, hot dog, even the champurrado! Alllll of it is delicious and always HITS. The owners know us pretty well by now and are always so sweet to everyone. 10/10 read more

Another time I honestly hate to give this rating. The food is decent and the place is close to the house so it makes for something quick and easy when you don't really want "commercial fast food". I usually come for taco Tuesday $1 tacos and as I said the food is decent. The meat looks a bit more chopped up but I figure that's the deal for the $1 tacos. Also I don't believe all the meat options are available for the Tuesday deal. I probably would have given a 4 star review on other circumstances, but the reason for the 2 star is the inconsistent hours. It says they're open until 12 midnight but that's not the case. They bounce out early a lot and you can never tell when that's gonna be. I've gone a few times now and it looks like they were never there; most of the time before 11pm. Sucks. read more

This place is legit. I usually come here once a week and try as much as I can. This is one of the few taco trucks I know of that has a wide variety of food. Sopes, sincronizadas, and tortas included. Their carnitas and barbacoa are the bomb. Above all, the service is amazing and amiable. You can't go wrong with tacos from here. read more

Service was good. Girl taking order was very nice. Seemed to really appreciate our business as they greeted us goodbye as we picked up our order to go. We had thought of going to our usual place...California Tacos in Pasadena but was so tired from an event that, that we decided to just give this place a try. Only 5 min from the house vs. 20 min into Pasadena. Sooo happy we did. Great variety of meats. Really loved that the meats were not very salty thus giving one a choice to add salt. No MSG either! We tried cabeza, lengua, ŕcarnitas, barbacoa and al pastor. Least favorite al pastor as it was too dry. Rest were very tender and moist. Already looking to go back to try the rest..lol!! Ok here is a very honest review! The people that work there are supper nice! 5star. I ordered a horchata, very tasty! Still 5star. I ordered 3 chicken tacos during taco Tuesday. Meat extremely bland. 2 star. The chorizo taco was ok, 3 star. I ordered 3 carne asada tacos. The meat didn't taste good at all, and was slightly gray. I didn't eat the tacos. 1 star. Even though the service was great and the horchata was great, the overall quality of the food lacked in flavor and overall taste. read more

This is definitely one of the best taco trucks I frequent to. Their taco Tuesday deal is great, and everything he has there are delicious. This place is close to a brewery called Pacific plate. First time trying this place out tonight. Overall, tacos are pretty good. They could have been a little bit more juicy- I like my tacos to be so juicy, that the juice is absorbed into the tortillas-BUT I still enjoyed them. 4/5 stars. If you stick with al pastor tacos you will enjoy a 5 star meal. Salsas were great and the servers were friendly and efficient. The carne asada and buche were just ok. The rest of meats were so fatty ( more fat than meat) and swimming in oil-- untrimmed poor quality cuts. These were one star only. But I will definitely be back for al pastor. read more

My fiancé and I have been trying to find a good taco spot in Monrovia for a while now with no luck. We always end up going to Pasadena...We finally tried this taco truck on Myrtle and it was a win! 1) They have an A rating! Wouldn't eat anywhere with any other grade. 2) Their truck is well kept and clean, peeked inside and everything looks very clean. 3) Tacos were tasty, and good cuts of meat. I showed up with my pup (yay! pet-friendly!!) and was greeted by a nice lady that told me about the new event and gave me a bookmark to follow them for updates and the truck lineup for future Thursdays. It's the first Thursday of the month from 5:30-9pm. Every food truck event that I've been to is always packed, so it was nice to be able to look around and choose what I wanted based on the menu and not the line. There were only 4 food trucks there, but they were all great trucks, plus this was the first night and Monrovia is a small town. I was torn between the Los Lobos truck (which I've tried before and has amazing burgers and "wachos") and the Kogi truck, which I've never tried, so I went with the Kogi. I ordered the short rib burrito and it was soooooooooooo delicious!!! Service was friendly and I got my order right away since there was NO LINE!! The only downside is that the menu does not mention what goes inside the burritos (or toppings etc for any of the menu items), which would be helpful for most people when they're looking at the menu. I will definitely come back next month. For now, it's a hidden gem and it is awesome.

The wait was long, but it was expected, and we weren't in any rush. The service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chorizo con papas, which came with beans and handmade tortillas. Everything was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. Another reason for this post is to apologize and recognize the incredible staff. We ended up staying about an hour after closing because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in nearly two years. We got so caught up talking and reminiscing that we didn't even realize we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not once did anyone ask us to leave or make us feel like we had overstayed our welcome. We know staying that long after closing is inconsiderate, and it was never our intention. We sincerely apologize for that. Thank you to the entire staff for your patience, kindness, and hospitality. My family and I were driving around Monrovia looking for a taco place since we're new to the city, yelped tacos and this small joint (taco place) came up. Ordered about 25 tacos (asada and alpastor) which were pretty small in my opinion. On top of them being small the meat had a lot of fatty which I don't like, I was taking my third bite from my taco and unfortunately got a pretty long hair inside my taco which I pulled out, unpleasant experience won't be coming here again.? Word of advice use hair nets or hats these will prevent from hairs getting in the food!!!!!!! read more
