The grape yogurt drink was creamy, yogurty, and tart with real, refreshing, fruity grape flaves and seeds. The sausage hug sausage had a firm, bouncy, sweet, fatty, thick sausage, pungent raw garlic, and crunchy sweet pickled cucumbers all on a chewy sticky rice bed. The scallion pancake chicken cutlet had a super flakey crispity crunchity chewy wrap, a brushing of sweet sticky hoisin sauce, some shredded cabbage, and a thin crispity crunchy bubbly lightly savory chicken cutlet. I'm always on a mission for the best popcorn chicken and a good milk tea! This one def hits. I like the feel of Food truck grab and go and they were nice and attentive ... as far as the price it was reasonable, but for the amount of popcorn chicken (it was like almost $10) I was expecting a bit more for the bunk especially when I just tried Lollicup's in Alhambra and it felt like it was a nerverending cup lol. Also, chicken could have been crispier outside but that's just me I prefer crispier popcorn chicken. Otherwise it was solid and right amount of seasoning and honey milk tea was yum. Since this is a Food Truck so far the only consistent location they seem to appear at is on San Gabriel Blvd., by the SF Supermarket Plaza of across from the Old Catholic Church. Egg Yolk Scallion Paratas 炸彈蔥油餅 was good almost reminded me of a Taco Bell Chalupa shell but with scallions and hoisin sauce, and of course liquid yolk. Grapefruit Yakult 25% sugar: Excellent 4.5/5 Mango Green Tea/ no sugar: Excellent 4.5/5 Chicken Rears 七里香: not crispy enough, 3/5 best I've had in California for Chicken Butts was back in 1999, there was a Tapioca Express in the a city of industry....and they were the only ones that ever managed to get it right. Stinky Tofu 在炸臭豆腐 had really authentic Taiwanese Garlic Soy Sauce but the stinky tofu these days in California....they just werent what they used to be. Back in the days there was a father son duo, the son's name was Ming. He was a late 70s, Early 80s Taiwanese Gen Xer. Anyways...they used to make the most odorous pungent fermented Taiwanese stinky tofu in their garage, and then supply to Boiling Point Hot Pot and various other local SoCal Taiwanese restaurants. Sadly, Mings dad passed away and don't know if they're still around supplying, probably not, given all the stinky tofu these days smell like they were aged 24 hours and not more.... So back to topic, stinky tofu wasn't bad, just felt it couldn't have been stronger with the fermentation. And lastly, the chicken cutlet. Stinky tofu? Yeah don't knock it until you try it! The smell might not be everyone's cup of tea but the texture and taste is pretty good. I ordered chicken cutlet pre-cut and stinky tofu. The food came out in 10-15 minutes. The stinky tofu was fine, but it wasn't stinky enough. The chicken cutlet was the star. I got the crispy chicken and porks blood rice cake. The food was pretty tasty. But for the price and quantity, I'm not sure if I would come back. The chicken size is definitely an illusion because there's more starch and the chicken is super flattened out. As someone who has had cutlets from Taiwan the meat to starch ratio is not worth the price. As for the pork blood rice cakes, it was tasty but the quantity was tiny for the price. Chicken cutlet - this thing is BIG! Good crispy coating but similar to others I've tried. Sausage hug Sausage - it's a crispy rice sausage that's split to cuddle the Taiwanese sausage. This was probably my favorite dish of the evening. There was a good crispiness, saltiness to the rice, it held together and didn't crumble when biting into. Fried Gizzards - I love fried gizzards. That knuckly, cartilage crunch is my FAVE. I would have loved these gizzards a little more if they weren't over fried. It made them a little dry. Sweet Potato Fries - these were meh, not bad per se but quite unexciting. They need to be a little crispier with a little sugar/spice/salt sprinkled on them. Taro Cake - think mochi-ish with taro chunks in the mochi. This was delicious. I might stop here on a regular JUST for this dish. Grapefruit Yakult - lots of good pulp, flavorful yogurt tang. They're here in the evenings so there's never a parking inside. Stay alert though, it's a busy street but it's a little dark. Today at Irvine, this food truck was such a terrible experience. I had to wait for more than three hours just to get my food, which is completely unreasonable! If they can't properly serve their customers, they really shouldn't be in business -- it's just a waste of everyone's time. On top of that, there's no way to place an order in advance, so people are forced to wait endlessly. Everyone's time is valuable, and this kind of operation is simply unacceptable. Honestly didn't really have any expectations for this food truck but it exceeded my expectations. I only ordered the Chicken Cutlet ($10.24) and it was great! The way I would describe it is popcorn chicken but in cutlet form, with more meat and less breading. The meat was super juicy and tender while the seasoning used was flavorful. I got medium spicy which was perfect without being too spicy that it takes away from the chicken. I requested to have them to cut the meat into chunks, which made this easier to eat. There is so much fresh grapefruit pulp in every cup! I've come back like 4 times within 2 months and tried nearly every food item they offer. But have always gotten the same grapefruit GT because they make it THAT GOOD! Of all the food I've had, hands down favorite is their famous chicken cutlet!
