We had gone to the UCLA football game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday night and after all the mayhem was over at 11:30 pm I really wanted some truly good food and not get gouged on price - and I knew that Yelp would help me find just that...and we found Los California Tacos! First of all, this food truck was voted the nations #1 food truck in 2022 by ZenBusiness who evaluates food trucks based on Yelp reviews and voted them #1 out of the top 10 most reviewed food trucks in the US! - So there's that. And then we found out why, first hand. I'm originally from Texas and the rule there is the way to find a great restaurant you for a place that has a lot of cars in the parking lot and a line out the door. And this taco truck is tucked back in the small parking lot of an auto repair shop sonofabitch you're driving too fast you might miss it. But we saw all the cars parked on the street and then the line of people at the truck. My girlfriend was like "I don't wanna wait a half hour to eat" but because of how late it was (they stay open till 2:30 am) we decided to stay and give it a try. It was astonishing how fast they were moving people through that line! From the time we hit that parking lot, we were feasting within 5-7 mins. They only serve 2 things - street tacos ($2.50 each) and we later saw that they also serve nachos (not sure what the price is on nachos - but we'd love to try those next time ). They have a wonderful assortment of meats as you can see from my pic: asada (steak), pastor (BBQ pork), carnitas (fried pork), chicharron (spicy pork), cabeza (beef cheek) & pollo (chicken). We got asada, pastor and pollo tacos and they were VERY good. You can get spicy or mild and they come with onions & cilantro. There are 4 or 5 guys cooking and as soon as you tell them what you want they are handing to you - not kidding, lightning fast, hot & fresh! It is artistic how well-oiled their whole business runs and is VERY impressive!! They don't have actual tables (because that would be inefficient). The auto repair shop has installed a pull-down shelf on the parking lot wall that you walk over to once you have your food and it is very efficient and absolutely perfect for this location. Again, this one our most impressive finds and $14 for 5 tacos and a 5 min wait for what looks to be a 30+ min wait is just unheard of. 5 stars all day long!!

They said this is the first week they've been open, their hours are around 5 PM to 9 PM, and yes they are usually in front of the supermarket. It was pretty good. In summary: Food was good though I ordered only one thing. I'll be back sometime in the next few days to try out more of their menu. Service was good. I was the only one around for a bit, but they were definitely friendly. Food truck with an "A" rating from the health department. It's a positive, but part of me wants to count it as a negative. Asian street food, to me, just isn't the same without massive cockroaches skittering around piles of rotting vegetables all around me while mosquitoes eat me alive. Pricing seems fair.
