I've been wanting to check this place out for awhile since it was nearby and I was so surprised! The taco spots in this area aren't amazing so I had my doubts but this one has to be the best tacos I've had in the 626! I was able to try the quesadilla and a few tacos. The guy was able to hook it up with both asada and al pastor for the quesadilla! It was FILLED with cheese. The cheese pull was a 10/10! Super messy and super delicious! The meat on the carne asada had a nice char to it and the al pastor was juicy and crispy at the same time! I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next night! The salsas were decent and the limes could be fresher but it's good enough for me where I'm definitely coming back! read more

I was looking for a specific taquero that would be able to cater an event for about 80 people. In addition, I wanted the carne asada grilled on charcoal and a trompo at the event. They were able to deliver at a reasonable price at my event. The meats were really good as well. My guests enjoyed the tacos. The only thing that I would change is to see if they can have more than one person catering the event, cause the line was a bit long at my event. read more

Delicious! One of the better taco stands in the area. All the meat was so tender and flavorful, and prices are very fair. We got 14 tacos, a quesadilla, and a burrito for $53. I usually am very picky with carnitas, al pastor, and chorizo, but I loved them all here, so that's saying something! Not dry at all. They fill their burritos up with lots of meat (I chose half lengua half cabeza), and it comes with rice and beans. Soooo good! The flour tortillas on the burrito and quesadilla were extremely greasy though and not grilled on the outside to crisp up. I would request that next time. Salsa and onions are self-serve. Food is great from here. It seems like a simple taco stand but it isn't. They are super friendly and try to go as fast as they can to go through the line. Never had a problem with problem even if it is on the street haven't found a problem. The top choices I like to choose are pastor, lengua, and asada. The lengua is different here since it doesn't have that chewiness that other places have and is super tender. The pastor is a gold char and marinate and the asada has a nice flavor from the grill. They have raw onions and some cooked ones if you ask them for it. Definitely one of my go to spots if I want some tacos. read more

We have come here on two separate occasions and the tacos aren't bad. $1.50 for smallish tacos but pretty tasty. So far it has been tastier than the tacos down the street at taco taco or even along peck rd. Salsa is much better too. The red salsa is pretty spicy. The green is very mild. He'll give you grilled onions and 1 grilled jalapeño which is great. All in all very satisfied with the tacos and service here. The guy running it is nice and it's easy ordering from him. Hopefully more people go here so he can keep coming back. read more

Always passed by this place whenever I am out and about. Decided to check out the place tonight. The guy running the stand is really friendly and I was genuinely surprised on how there wasn't that many people here when I was here. I still decided to stop by and ordered 2 tacos de lengua and 2 tacos al pastor. Not only were the meats juicy and tender, they were better than my go to taco truck that I bought from earlier in the night near a supermarket in San Gabriel. Took my wife to Tacos Don Jose on a Sunday night and ordered a pastor burritos. It was delicious and wife said it's the best burritos she's ever had. This statements comes from an Asian couple who frequented Mexico on plenty occasions in the past. The pastor is savory and flavorful; covered the palate with colorful notes with the right amount of juiciness. We made another trip to Tacos Don Jose the next night (Monday) but unfortunately the operator was no where in sight. Updated hours! Spoke with the guy running the stand and he said he'll be open Thursday through Sunday, 5:30pm to 11pm. I've been passing by this place often so I finally decided to try them out. The tacos are amazing! Lots of delicious meat and free grilled onions with your order. Condiments like salsa, lemons, onion/cilantro are off to the side so you can grab what you want. Love this place!!! There here on fridays, Saturday's and Sunday nights. The first time I came here I got tacos. They were delicious. I tried the asada, chicken, chorizo and pastor. They were all good but the pastor is my favorite. My go to now is the al pastor burrito. My kids love the chicken. It's moist and flavorful. And the salsas are all good! As I was heading to old town Monrovia I noticed a taco stand in the city of Arcadia. I decided to stop and try this place out. I ordered 3 pork and 3 beef. After eating the tacos I noticed something was off. The meat had an odd flavor. Due to eating at this place I ended up at urgent care, couldn't take the stomach pain. I will never be eating at a taco stand ever again. The fact that everything is out in the open and is not maintained at a certain temperature is what causes food to go bad.
