Today one of the techs did mom's manicure from the pedicure chair so she would rest and to give me a break for a few minutes. I have been going there throughout the years although I don't go frequently. I was talked into doing the "dip in" nails. Huge mistake. I also asked for French manicure. My nails looked horrible - so thick and uneven I could not believe she thought that was okay. I payed 90 dollars for that and for my daughter's regular manicure (no gel). I gave 10 dollars tip to each manicurist. We left to do some errands but I could not take how thick and fake my nails looked. I went back and she removed them and did a regular gel. I was really worried when I saw the reviews for this place, but I had a wonderful experience! The salon was clean, quiet, and calming. My nail tech (I think his name was Don) took his time and paid attention to detail. He did an excellent job removing my previous set of dip nails and applying this new set. Hopefully they hold up! I'm actually shocked by how subpar this nail salon is. I got a gel pedicure and they e-filed the old gel off. No soaking at all. A couple had polish that were lifting and the tech just peeled them off lol. They also removed my cuticles with the nipper's blade by rubbing it back and forth over my nail? It was so bizarre and shoddy. I've never had such an unprofessional pedicure before. The gel polishes are also not listed by brand which is off putting and the salon is crowded/ cluttered/ poorly laid out as others have pointed out. They also shaved my callouses off which I thought was interesting. Only positive is the low price point and the location if you live here. Stay away! read more

This place is fine until they mess something up and begrudgingly make it right. My pedicure was dry; the technician sprayed my toes and wrapped them in Saran Wrap so I could put my closed toed shoes on. This was the first time i experienced this Saran Wrap wrap. When I changed my shoes later, the nail polish on the big toes was messed up. Went back to get it fixed. Manager lady scolded me for not coming back the next day! I came in on a Sunday to get a pedicure and to remove the old remnants of my last gel manicure. When I called to make the appointment, I asked how long it would take to get both done and the lady told me 30 minutes because they can work on my hands while I was getting my pedicure. I've had this done in other salons before so I didn't think anything of it and accepted the last appointment of the day which was 30 minutes to their scheduled closing time. A sweet lady immediately wrapped my nails after I sat down while the nail technician got started on my feet. This pedicure was one of the worst I've ever gotten! The whole thing was rushed. She used the plier clippers to clean under my nails instead of the proper tool so you can imagine the pain. I was in so much shock (and she was doing it so quickly), I barely had time to tell her to stop. She also nearly sliced open my big toe because she was rushing so much. She asked if I was willing to pay an additional $5 for a salt scrub with massage which I turned down, and I'm glad I did because her regular massage was pretty weak. The only reason I'm not leaving only one star is because she did a good job with my hands. Unlike other salons that only remove the gel and leave it at that, she took the time to buff my nails afterward and apply oil over them so they looked healthy and strong. After I got home, I took a closer look at my toes and noticed that the paint job was terrible. Nail polish was smeared over the tops of my toes and onto the sides. I could have done a better job using my left hand! I might consider coming back for a manicure but I definitely have second thoughts about the pedicures. read more

I came in for a gel manicure a couple days before going on vacation. This was my first visit at this establishment. I did a walk-in and was taken care of immediately. The young lady that did my nails was pleasant and very patient while I tried to pick my polish color. The salon was clean and they were following masking rules in place at the time. The manicure was a standard gel manicure that ended with a brief but lovely hand massage. Worth noting, they prefer cash tips and there is an ATM in the salon. Unfortunately the next morning my thumb nail chipped. For reference gel usually lasts on my nails ~3 weeks. I went back in and they redid the nail for no charge. While on vacation (day 3 of nails being done, 4 of them started lifting on the edges. Day 5 they started to peel off. Very disappointed that they didn't last nearly as long as gel manicures have in the past. read more

To say this nail salon sucks would be an understatement. I decided to ignore the negative reviews since it is close to my house. Boy, that was a bad call. The salon itself wasn't very clean, they re-used tools without sanitizing between customers, AND they do an awful job! On both my manicure and pedicure, they failed to trim my cuticles back properly and then they painted over my cuticles they left there. I'm sorry, but if you're charging $60 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, customers should at least have their cuticles maintained properly. The main reason I pay to get my nails done because I can't figure out how not to paint my cuticles - I shouldn't be paying someone to do as bad as a job I do at home. I also got a faint pink color and they only did 2 coats, leaving it transparent in certain places. Also, it's less than a week later and polish is starting to peel off on the sides despite my desk job and not screwing with them. I'm pissed off I tipped (and tipped well) due to how bad a job two different people did. They also didn't bother labeling what colors are whah brands on the gel polish samples, so you're taking a gamble on brands. This place is awful. Save your money and go anywhere else. I personally will continue making the drive to Eisenhower where they actually do a good job, have a clean salon, and offer great service. read more

This may be the worse pedicure I've gotten... my foot is swollen from the paraffin dip that was too hot it burnt me.The lady didn't even ask me if it was too hot until it was already on my skin... she rushed through my entire pedicure she offered me a scrub I declined. She didn't tell me there were more than one selection of pedicures she didn't give me a callus treatment and none of that is listed in their pedicure options in their price list. DO NOT COME HERE FOR AN EYEBROW WAX ($9). This is the second time I came and it was terrible both times. I went back to give them the benefit of the doubt. After my wax the first time, i said thanks and left. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and it was as if I had never hone in the first place. It was partly my own fault for not taking a closer look while I was there and bringing it to their attention. I had the same lady the second time. Super nice, but I couldn't understand anything she was saying to me and anytime I said anything she just said "mhm". I realized that it was more of an automatic response when she didn't know what I was saying. She's a little older, so I'm wondering if she just has bad eyesight or the lighting in there is terrible. This time I checked and it was HORRIBLE ... practically nothing was done, so I asked her to fix it up. I took a quick glance again and it looked okay when I was there. Like I said, it must have been the lighting because when I went home to look it was just as bad as the first time! I ended up tweezing all around my eyebrows myself, basically wasting the $11 that I spent while I was there. The center, above, and under my eyebrows ... I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. My mother and I visited in October 2022 on a busy Sunday. We were taken for regular mani pedis without appointment and the staff was great. I've been getting pedicures since I was old enough to drive and they did an excellent job. Pedi was standard- massage chair, hot towels, foot massage, etc. Mani was also what you would expect. The shop is a little cramped but they have a lot of chairs and are very tidy and organized. Plus there's free parking lots. Very happy read more

They don't have the first clue how take off acrylic nails. With an electric buffer they sanded my nail SO thin, *every* nail broke & splintered & cracked. They cut them so far down to begin with, now they are splitting/cracking I have to the rest of what's left of the tips of the nails. At first I was trying to give the nail tech a break, but every time I told she wasn't doing right l, she got pissed at me & said, that's what you told me to do! No, I didn't. She cut them waaay shorter than I told her & cut the across the top like a crew cut. I mean, completely flat across the top, leaving very sharp points on either side of the nail top. I kept telling her, that's not what I wanted. I left the nail disgust after paying her, which is not what I should have done. I am now going to have to find a professional who can help me figure out what to do with my nail in the interim while they grow out: currently, they really hurt & look ugly like I don't put even the minimal amount of effort to take care and of my nails *&* it's right before Xmas! I wanted nice nails when I'm getting together with friends & family. I had to take the acrylic nails off because I was having surgery in the next 2 days & the nurse said I couldn't have acrylic nails because & no gel polish either, which I did have on my toes. The nurse told me to have it taken off. While this nail tech at Diane's Nails in Shirlington took off layer upon layer of my finger nails, she didn't even completely take off the gel on my toes! I've been going to this location for a few months now. It's been so hard to find someone who can do short, wide nails. I randomly popped in here and the owner recommended Tony. He was great the first few times, but then I started noticing my nails were lifting after a week. This was starting to happen every time I get them filled. They look great for a couple of days and then the polish would peel and the acrylic would lift. It's not cheap, $100 a month just on nails, but I thought it was worth it because he could do the shape and style I like, plus he was fast. I went in yesterday cause sure enough my nails were lifting after another week. I asked if Tony was available and they said he was off today. The owner came out and it was almost like she didn't even want to talk to me. I asked her when he'd be back and she shrugged her shoulders and said I dunno. I then just flat out asked "does he not work here anymore?" She said "I think you're right, have a nice day." So now he's gone, and yet you don't want to keep business? I spend $50 on my nails and tip a $20 every time... cool I'll go else where... Here is where it gets interesting and I'm reporting them to state board. I went to a different nail salon, one I wish I would've went to from the start. She looked at my nails and said "The reason your nails are lifting is because of cheap product, pour application, and it looks like he rushed through them." She popped off my nails in two seconds, and it revealed the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I have a fungus infection on 4 nails, not just 1 but 4 nails!!!!!!!!! I've been getting my nails done since I was 15/16 and I've never in my life had a fungus!!!! I'm so freggin livid right now. My doctor told me today it's going to take at least 6 months to a year for them to clear up. I'm debating filing a small claims report against this location. As well. I got the worst pedicure I've ever seen and was told i "just don't like the color" when I confronted them about the bad job. There is nail polish on my skin around the nail and some toes aren't even painted all the way. they Refused to give me a full OR half refund. They said i could come in again for a "touch up" but that takes time out of my day that I don't have and it should've been done right the first time. Only one employee was there upon opening and the rest of the staff was obviously very late so the other customers all stared at me while I was getting my manicure, which didn't make it very relaxing. I did read some reviews (both good and bad) and decided to go the salon and find out my experience! I am so glad I came and had my nails done (I had gel nails service)!! The salon is very clean and full of customers (it was Sunday morning around 11:30am)! Staff are very friendly with greet and smile! Tony did my nails and did exactly what I wanted! The color I picked up was really nice and fit my skin color as well! The price ($34) is very affordable I think since the salon is located in Shirlington Village! Got my eyebrows done barely included trim or even the unibrow area. Overall if you are in a pinch, I guess this is a good place to go to. I came here for the first time for its convenient location. Everything was great! I received a regular pedicure, and the woman did a good job. I was seated fairly quickly when I came in. honestly I really want to like this place because it's so close to my house and the nail techs are nice. I've had 1 out of 3 times an overall good experience. the most recent time I went I had gel polish on my toes. normally the removal is using the electric file and some acetone. rather the woman started to RIP off my polish using a cuticle tool. I looked down at her like she was crazy and she noticed I clearly had a problem with it so she took the rest off with the electric file. I was shocked. the rest of the pedicure was fine. the application and shaping was fine. but that's all it was. Do not come here for dip removal. They tell you to soak your hands in BOILING hot water. They got my black dip color all over my hands and told me they were done after I still had stained hands. There is dip color still under each of my nails. Terrible read more
