It's been a few years since I've been back to Sunflower so I wasn't sure what to expect. I walked in on a Monday, so things were slow and I was able to be taken for a pedicure almost immediately. My nail tech, Rose took such good care of me from start to finish. I got the deluxe pedicure package and it was honestly one of the best pedicures I had in a long time. From the scrub and callous remover to the massage, she really took her time and was very detail oriented. I even had a cracked nail on my big toe and she was able to fix it up with a little acrylic in a way that looked so natural and matched my other big toes' nail in size and shape perfectly. Although this salon is a bit out of the way for me still, I'm going to prioritize getting back sooner than later (especially if I'm in need of a pedi.) Thanks so much, Sunflower! read more

I came in this past Friday looking for a reliable local spot to maintain my nails biweekly for my job in sales, where presentation is everything. Unfortunately, my experience with Chinh was disappointing from start to finish. While she wasn't rude, the quality of work was subpar. My nails were cut significantly shorter than requested, my cuticles were rushed, and she did not clean under my nails at all. The gel application was also clearly low-quality; it is now Sunday and the polish has already completely fallen off two of my nails. What was most unsettling was the service experience. Midway through, right after she clipped my nails, she insisted I pay for the service immediately. I noticed every other customer in the salon was permitted to pay at the end of their appointment. As a Black man, being singled out and forced to pay mid-service while everyone else paid at the finish felt incredibly disrespectful and unwelcoming. I was looking for a long-term shop to keep my hands looking professional, but between the poor craftsmanship and the disparate treatment, I will not be back. read more

I had a good experience my first visit. I was happy with the deluxe pedicure process and result. I rebooked with the same woman days before the appointment, I got there on time, was placed at the nail counter (I was getting a pedicure) for 10 minutes, then transferred to a pedicure chair where I sat for an additional 30 minutes without interaction. I got up to leave 40 minutes after my appointment time when the women said someone could take me soon. I continued to leave, explaining I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time, they said sorry and watched me leave. I wish they would have called me before the appointment, admitting they were running behind and either pushed my time back or rescheduled, instead they wasted my time. Very disappointing. read more

I arrived on-time & Luna was ready, I was in chair, feet soaking at 11.01, after being greeted as I walked in. Luna was amazing, super friendly and she worked magic on my beat-up feet. My wife came back early from errands and sat with us. Luna & my wife chatted it up while I relaxed and got worked on. I left feeling refreshed and my feet, & hands looked as good as this old man can expect- LOL Luna was 5 Stars !!! Went to this salon tonight as a recommendation by a girlfriend. First walking in, as most nail places do, there's a bit of a language barrier but I was practically yelled at from across the salon to just pick a color and sit down LOL. Which to me at least, isn't a big deal but may be off putting to others. My nail tech was Tien and she definitely delivered. She was very attentive - showing me as she went along, correcting mistakes and asking if I was okay with what she had done. She gave me exactly what I asked for. After not having my nails done in years, I'm happy to be walking away feeling great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for prompt, great service. read more

Updated review 1/20/2024: The fact that I've been going here so often, spending this much money including good tips and receive poor quality twice within a week. There is no reason I just got a new full set of nails last weekend and 2 nails broke within the same week. I don't know what has changed in the quality of acrylic formula or technique Hanna has done. I live all the way in DC and have been traveling to get my nails done. I came Tuesday for a broken nail and am here right now for another broken nail. I literally have been home all week with this snow so it could not be blamed on anything strenuous besides me on a treadmill and flipping the channels for Netflix. I called this morning informing I had a broken nail. I arrived at 4:30 pm and it is now 5:28 pm and I am still waiting to get this 1 nail repaired. I will NEVER EVER come back to this nail salon. Simple, medium-sized salon, with lots of parking. I came her before in July for a gel pedicure and my nails lasted I just returned this week. The way Anne did my nails the last time, I knew she was the only person I wanted to touch my toes. I literally waited until she came back to work before I returned. We did a gel pedicure with chrome. The gel pedicure was $52 and + $15 for the chrome. The prices were a little less than others in the area, but WORTH IT. I would recommend always making an appointment before you come here, especially if it's an evening. When I went in, it was about 4 women working, and they stayed busy. Do not come here expecting to be in and out in under two hours--even if you're the only customer. A basic pedicure consistently takes over two hours, which is honestly unreasonable. I hesitated to leave this review, but after multiple visits, it's clear this is simply how they operate. The pace is incredibly slow, and no matter how early I arrive--even planning an hour ahead--I still end up leaving late. It's both mind-blowing and extremely frustrating. Just got my nails filled last week and went into my appointment yesterday requesting to just have my nail color changed/ repainted. The nail tech argued with me and insisted that I needed a fill, she said "no" to doing the color change alone. I asked her to please just change the color, which she finally agreed to. I really like Anh's work. She's reliable in many ways. She's good about cleaning up cuticles very nice and neat and always cleans product away from the skin around the nail. I like that she used a timer for the sugar scrub leg massage, so I know to expect about 5 minutes a leg. It's not a deep massage but always relieves some tight spots. Love the way she shapes my nails. My natural nails were broken and had to be cut short. I didn't give her much to work with and she somehow managed to make me feel good about my nails. The vibe is an average salon--they're not offering coffee or tea like some luxury salons, but they are very accommodating and have taken last minute appointments at the end of the day. OOMMMGGGEEE I drove from DC to get here and felt so hesitant with how tiny and unassuming it was- but Yelp has never led me astray and once more delivered!! Wanda was my nail tech and she's there tues wed thurs. I had photos of what I wanted and she explained to me how she could replicate with without adding acrylic nails- ie these are my own nails with SNS & a gel design. They essentially layer the gel design on top. Most techs ALWAYS cut me so I asked her to please go slow with the cuticle cutter and the grill - she never rolled her eyes or anything - just reassured me. You know how sometimes when they cut or grill too much the acetone starts to burn your skin OR it bleeds a little later?? NONE OF THAT!! All the techs seemed nice pleasant and calm- they're also honest about which one can do the design you want so they may pass you around which makes sense. They also consult with each other if someone has a design they're trying to figure out. Artists !!! Truly !! AND as is it can't get better- hold on to your seats (or don't!) they have a bidet in their bathroom !! Small unassuming but mighty :) read more

I haven't been here in a while but decided to go because it's been a minute that I got my nails done. As I walk in per usual , I love the environment everyone is friendly and great hospitality. But as soon as getting my nails done with someone at first , I tried to get my nails longer but the lady cut them already so I didnt want her to do more work to start over again besides the point one of the nails were crooked so I mentioned it to her and she said she'll fix it which she did but then I go home and see another nail crooked too so I'm just a little disappointed because every time I've went it's been amazing maybe next time! I chose this nail salon because of the reviews. To be fair I gave it 2 stars because we didn't have an appointment and they took 3 of us for pedicures as walk ins. But the pedicure was rushed, not even 30 minutes. The massage part was just over 2 minutes. They didn't ask us what kind of pedicures we wanted. And to top it off they did 2 of the pedicures while the 3rd person waited. It was not relaxing, it felt like they wanted us to be gone asap. Came in for a fill and she did everything I asked her to do. She is so so wonderful and takes her time in making sure my nails look wonderful. Well I decided to go get my nails done yesterday because I didn't feel like doing them myself . The nails look okay but I'll be altering them myself soon because they're just not up to par enough for me . Originally I booked an appointment for sns but she did acrylic ? I mean I didn't mind it was acrylic because I was already tired & knew it would be quicker than sns but SHEESH . She didn't take her time with her application at all . She finished the application on both of my hands within 10 minutes . She spent more time filling than anything else . There was no base coat before applying the gel polish which is probably why the paint job doesn't look the best . Now they might look good to somebody who doesn't do nails & is on the outside looking in BUT I do nails so all I can see is imperfections and flaws . Prior to the appt I calculated my cost - SNS full set $55 Length $5 Should've been $60 . I spent $65 .. but here's the problem . She did acrylic , not sns . So my total should have been - Acrylic full set - $40 Gel color add-on for Acrylic Full Set - $10 Length - $5 $55 . & she didn't even offer me a receipt like she did her client before me . Pretty sure she knew she overcharged me & didn't care . Needless to say I regret not going my own nails in the first place . & I wish I wasn't so tired before I went in because she definitely got over on me . 2 stars for effort tho . I retract my statement about the 2 stars , changing it to one after reading more of the reviews , I'm not the only one they overcharged . This is a problem & this business needs to be investigated & I will be taking action because that's not cool . read more
