The last pedicure I got here was very disturbing and painful. The employee dug into my toes and was cutting my skin around the toenails-- I told her it was hurting but she hardly had eye contact and kept working away. Then the toenail started bleeding so she slowed down. That was a week ago; now I have an infection on that toe! The skin is red and swollen and wearing shoes hurts. The people who work here seem oblivious to what clients are saying; morever, they don't seem to even try to communicate. NO eye contact, no listening and asking for someone else to translate. The last time I have gotten acrylics done was about 2 years ago. Upon the recommendation of a co-worker , I came to Diamond Nail. I first checked on Yelp & was astonished to see the 3 stars, I know now why. I got my nails done with Chi, and although she was friendly, she was very unprofessional. She carried on conversations with her co-workers, didn't acknowledge the fact that I was displeased with the nails. Then a client had accidentally messed up her nail polish and "Jen" (nail lady) had the most sour look on her face, having to go fix the clients nails. To top this off , when my nails were done. Diamond Nails is actually in walking distance from my house so its convenient for me to take my teenage daughter..My experience at the salon hasn't been a great one. My oldest daughter is actually the one who told be about the salon. The first time was fine I took my teen daughter and I was charged $35.00 for a full set..The second time we went was for refilling the nails and she charged me $45.00 which was strange because less work your just filling the nails.. Yesterday we got there at 6:17 pm they close at 7:00 pm my daughter was the only one sitting when I left her..I got back at 7:00 pm and she was still sitting and waiting. I asked the salon woman if they were still going to be able to her nails because its closing time do the simple fact that there was still other people waiting the salon woman said yes if she wants to wait.. My daughter decided to wait I then left her again and came back at 7:40 pm and she was still sitting.. By now I was really pissed and I asked the salon woman again why didn't she just say that she couldn't do her nails and we would have come back another day..My daughter was the first person at 6:17 pm and she was still sitting at 7:40 and they were now doing to other people.. the store sign says first come first serve.. The salon lady was really rude and she start talking in their own language to the other two women that were in the salon and never responded to me.. This is my new favorite nail place! I went to get a pedi, and saw the price for a spa mani/pedi and decided to do both for only $24. The two ladies who helped me (Loam and Helen) were excellent. I came in with my friend when it was almost empty and I had to wait 30 minutes to be seen when they told me it would be "a couple minutes", but meanwhile a woman who came in several minutes after me was seen right away. The place was unsanitary looking and my friend that was with me was treated very rudely by her nail tech. They tried to charge her $70 for only getting acrylics taken off. Simple place. The owner does a great job. Reasonable prices. The wait for the owner can be long so make a reservation the day before.

I've been taking my mom to this place for years. It was something we did once a month on Tuesdays as they used to have senior discount. Now she is 93 and in a wheelchair and I still take her there - they carefully massage her feet and hands and do the cleaning, cutting and filing. When she broke her leg they were the only people she would let touch her leg without complaining. Now I take her just about every week - she enjoys being in the shop, and now I consider it as part of her physical therapy. I never make an appointment - just go in and see how long the wait is - then bring mom in if it's not too crowded. I think all the girls have worked on my mom now - we take who ever is available. I wish they would wear name tags so I could learn their names! They also wax mom's chin - except for one time - always comes out well. I sometimes have manicure, pedicure or leg waxing too. It's a nice treat. We are lucky to have this place so near! The bowls and files and things have always been clean. Prices are very good. The bathroom isn't fancy - sometimes it not perfectly clean - could have a bar to make it easier for people using walkers or wheelchairs. read more

I only write 5 star happy reviews as I love giving kudos to those who deserve it! So please understand how bad this had to be for me to even take the time to write this! My mom wanted to treat herself after her last round of chemo and radiation by getting a French manicure. We arrived at 9:30am on 03-08. 1 worker in the store. No other patrons. She asked "what do you want?" No smile, no welcome. She was literally snarling as if we already ruined her day. I asked if she could paint a French manicure for my mom. Again a look of disgust. I said she did not even need a full manicure; just polish. To that she was even more annoyed and threw her her towel down at her station. I was so confused. She started to move towards the back, presumably to get her nail kit and looked at us again in utter anger. This is not a joke. I could tell my mom was uncomfortable and I immediately felt bad that I had driven her to this place. I put my arm around my mom and said to the lady "you know what...no thank you...maybe if you were a little nicer we would stay". And with that my mom and I walked out and all we could do was laugh! We feel very sorry for this person at how awful their life must be to be so unbearably unhappy. My mom and I obviously did not need that kind of negativity to start our day. Horrible! Bad color selection, bad service, bad atmosphere. I got a gel mani pedi and they didn't do a base coat or a top coat. They didn't give me the card with all the different pedicure options. Ouchie the lady doing my nails hurt my cuticles so bad! They are also all weirdly shaped on one hand...the lady doing my pedicure was good and it turned out alright and she scrubbed the crap out of my callouses which i needed. Overall I wouldn't go back. I get to the seat and there's a dirty used dish towel with yellow nail bits. I then placed my hands in the water placed out for me and immediately was taken aback because the water was hella hot. I persevered and pretended to hold my fingers in the water. Moving along, she used the electric file for a normal manicure and went HAM! One of my nails hurts with how thin it is but that pales in comparison to the hurt in my heart. When painting my nails she randomly decided to paint 3 of my nails with 3 coats and the other 7 with 2. Overall, I guess I got what I paid $8 for, a half-assed manicure. read more

I was looking for a place to treat myself with a manicure once in a while near my house, well I was really disappointed. 25$ for a French gel manicure very poorly done, it has been a week and it's already going away. I kept on asking the lady to do it the way I like (discret and natural looking) and she wouldn't listen because she didn't really understand English so I ended paying for something I didn't like. Where to start? I called for an appt for 12:00 for a mani pedi at the same time. I come in a little before noon, and stated that I could get both at the same time, was told yes. I wasn't in a chair until 12:10. About 10 min go by and I asked if someone was going to be over to do my mani soon, I was told yes. The only enjoyable part of my pedicure was the massage CHAIR, not the massage...that only lasted about 30 seconds and it was terrible at that. At 12:40 my pedicure was done and still no manicure. I then looked and a toenail was crooked so I asked her to fix it. She laughed and "tried" to fix it. I let it go since the polish was wet. She then asked if I wanted a manicure still, asked how long it would take and was told 15 min and then dry time. Mind you, I have a meeting to get to which is WHY I made a freaking appt and asked for them at the SAME time. So I said ok...so on she went to get a bowl for my fingers to soak...water was freezing, she was pulling at the cuticle and skin around it instead of clipping (I went to Cosmo school and learned the proper and non hurtful way to do this) and stretched my opposite arm over with no pillow for it to rest on. A couple nails were jagged and I asked her to fix it...she laughed said some stuff to her coworker then fixed them. On she went to paint my nails...she got down to the cuticle but there were pieces of? Idk? Chunkies from the polish edges? Cotton pieces? Who knows. I asked her to fix the 1st one I noticed and she laughed and just painted over it again. Multiple nails had this issue but it was taking longer than 15 min so I said screw it. I did ask her to fix the toenail now that they were dry and clean up the pinky toenail since there was polish all around it. She laughed AGAIN and did it. I was so irritated by the time I left that I wanted to cry. As a mom who's first time getting her toes and nails done for almost 2years maybe even 2 1/2 I had a terrible experience. Also there was a coke drug deal literally right outside the door and the person was a client who was getting her nails done :/ I unfortunately paid and tipped prior to manicure since I knew by the time it was done I wasn't going to have time to stay until they were dry.
