They aren't the best, but they aren't the worst nail service I've ever had. I stopped here because it was near my chiropractor and I needed my nails done before a trip. I was able to get seen right away so that was nice. My nails were already done from a previous appointment but they needed a fill pretty badly. They are almond shaped and the powder color was a nude pink. My regular nail tech mixes 2 colors so I didn't expect a match at this place but it was fine. I was getting them painted matte black anyways. The nail techs here was all older woman, nice, didn't really talk a lot. Just asked what I wanted, what color and shape and how short. I don't want to assume her English wasn't the best but also, I gather she's not fluent. It was definitely a trust the process type of service. It looked worse before it got better. There was no cuticle care and the finishing buff was not as smooth as I would have liked. The nails also were a bit thicker than what I started with. The shape changed slightly but not a big deal. The one thing I would say I didn't like the most was the polish did not start at the cuticle. She left a gap on all nails. It's not the biggest deal but its just not what I prefer. I wanted a matte black polish and anyone who knows matte colors knows you can see every imperfection. You can see the brush strokes and bumpiness of some of the nails. Again I know how matte colors work so I just didn't complain because I was there as a last resort. The salon is a decent size and appears well taken care of. Its a quiet area. One thing I did question was cleanliness. There was a nail tech with no customers who was sitting at a station trimming her own nails. My mind instantly went to are those tools her personal tools or tools for a customer? Will she clean them? Then it spiraled from there. Overall it wasn't a horrible experience and in a pinch it was sufficient. Would I make an appointment here? No. I'm giving it a 3 because although I didn't LOVE my nails, the lady was nice and she did her best. read more

She was really, like REALLY sorry and very sweet, but She freaking cut me with the electric Dremel file and she nicked my little finger, causing me to bleed! She told me she did dip nails, brought out the acrylic (which I ended up doing because I ran out of time). I told her that my nails were thin from previously having gel nail polish and I think she took that to mean that I wanted thick acrylics on top of my nails...? Aye...total disaster!!! I don't know why I ended up feeling more bad for her, because I tipped her 20%, but I'm NEVER going back there again and I don't recommend this business. Slightly conflicted on my review for this place. I wanted a gel pedicure but the lady doing it told me they can't do gel pedicures which didn't make sense to me considering they do gel manicures but she kept insisting they didn't do it so I just got a basic pedicure. It was a sloppy job to begin with and later that same day it had already began chipping so I felt like I paid for something that I could've done a better job myself. On the other hand, a different lady did my manicure and I got exactly what I wanted out of it. I liked that she was precise and she didn't rush through it like a lot of nail techs seem to do. I think I'd definitely come back for a manicure but I would not get another pedicure here if they refuse to do gel. read more

This was by far the worst nail shop I have neen to. The tech that they gave me apparently was not a nail tech. She was, I believe, the cleaning lady. She didn't have a clue what she was doing. I asked for a dip powder set. Not once were my nails dipped. She applied the dip powder like acrylic and sloppily. My fingers were pigmented red from the tips almost to my knuckles! It was extra thick. She didn't cure them, not once! There was a thick mess all on the underside of my nails as well. In the end, she put a shiny gloss coat on them and said, "All finished. Look good. " I said no, they don't, this is a mess! The manager came over, drilled them all back down, reshaped, filed, and cured them. I went out of town the next morning, and one of them broke while I was doing nothing! When I got back to town, I went back to have that nail fixed. Another woman fixed it. She filed my nail down to the skin of my fingertips! I don't know what their specialty is in this place, but it is not nails. Stay away! I think only one person in there is trained to do nails. read more

I just had the worst pedicure experience!!! I came with my toes clipped and filed. I just wanted a massage and callus treatment so I paid for the #3 special (45 min. Callus treatment/cool gel exfoliate/massage). My service only lasted 28 mins. She barely even touched me. Did not exfoliate. Spread cool gel and let sit and wipe. Rubbed her hands up and down my leg for 10 mins with no pressure. Did not massage my feet. I asked for clear polish, she didn't put any on. When I asked for my polish again she huffed, and when I say slapped, I mean slapped, a coat on real quick and rushed me out. After working on my feet in the hospital, all through covid, this was my treat to self. I waited 2.5 years for THIS?!?!? I've never been so dissatisfied. This WAS my regular spot. NEVER again!! Never again is what I swore the time before... I should have listened to myself, but was in desperate need of a gel mani before heading to a weekend in Vegas. I work nearby so decided I would take a quick break and get it out of the way. I was relieved when there were only three customers inside when I arrived around 11:20 AM on a Tuesday, but unfortunately there were only 3 nail techs. If she had told me that it would be 40 minutes before she could start, I probably would have run an errand and used my time wisely. Instead, she wrapped my nails up in acetone-soaked cotton so that I couldn't read magazines or use my phone. I, at one point, asked about the time, but was lied to, stating that she would be with me in 10 minutes. After about 25 minutes, I took the cotton off my nails to check emails....I was desperate to something with my time. After 40 minutes when she got around to me, she got mad at me for taking off my cotton and threatened to use the electric sander. I refused, so she wrapped them up again. I was temped to leave, but figured that I would have to find someplace else to go right away. When she did my nails it was fine, and they look good now, but I saw another customer walk out after 20 minutes when she was told to "wait a little bit". $25 for a gel mani is a good price, but I also prefer good service. The place is not friendly and kind of a mess too. The last time I was there, I fell in love with their chrome colors, but they came off my nails too quickly. I've been coming to this salon for the last 9 years...I try really hard to keep expectations simple, just a pedicure and gel removal, I always tip $10 a person. But, it's really hard to justify this expense- I selected the $45 pedicure which said it would take 45 minutes and include a warm lotion massage...I got 20 minutes with a gallon of cold oil. I asked the lady to please stop that this wasn't a massage (tapping and splashing oil) but she refused to stop- I literally had to move her hand off me and grab a towel to try to mop up some of the oil. As for the gel removal...she insisted on using her drill 3 times before I stopped her and begged her to stop...once to shave off 90% of the gel, the she applied a layer of nail polish remover, scraped a remnants and went back with 2 types of drills. My mail beds HURT, my nails are FRIED AND BENDING...I asked her why she wasn't listening to me and she laughed. Honestly, this used to be my favorite "hole in the wall" nail salon in La mesa, it was clean and simple and friendly. It'll take some time for my nails to recover, I know they will, but if you're going to drop $50-75 bucks, I'd think again about where you spend it. read more

Ok, first off this place is really not expensive! It is nice. The ladies are nice. They do a great job! It is really amazing. I got French style pedicure and both of my kids came and loved it. A customer came in shouting about how her nails were too long and she was basically the rudest customer ever. Trying to throw people out of their chairs they were already in. I can't believe they were so nice to this old nutcase! I think they need to charge more having to deal with some customers like this. She was trying to cut back in front of everyone. Ruined other people's great experience. Basically, if you see some bad reviews I would highly doubt they have any validity. Customers need to be decent humans!!!
