I'm so happy I came here & treated myself with a full set. From outside the shop is unassuming & inside it's cozy & clean. Parked on the street (no meters-yay!) but once inside realized there's also parking in the back so parking shouldn't be a struggle for future appts. I took advice of others & called ahead to make an appt. It was $50 for the whole set of acrylics & when asked how much additional for nail art I was informed the cost is a flat fee; ANY art I wanted would be included.Tranie herself did my nails & she was friendly, fun & patient while I went searching for Christmas designs. I just recently visited for my first time for a Mani and Pedi I'm very easy all I ask is you please cut the cuticle back and the dead skin around my fingers no polish and you don't have to use the pumice on my feet I take care of that. I couldn't relax because I had two people doing my feet and hands at the same time. Then when I asked how much 65.00 I WAS LITERALLY IN SHOCK! I didn't say anything just payed it. I couldn't leave a tip because that would be pushing it. The people were very friendly. But way too much! Then I had to sit with my feet under the lights to dry. Usually the pedicure is done first than your manicure so by the time your nails are done so are your feet. And not being able to enjoy the experience of being able to just sit without crossing my arms over for the manicure. read more

They talked to me, unlike other salons who only talked to other employees in a language I didn't know. I still love Tranie Nails! I just wanted to give them an update with COVID regulations. I think it is clean and safe place to go and wanted to share what Tranie and Jimmy have done to abide by county standards. If you've been before, you know it's a small space, only 3 pedicure chairs and 3 manicure tables. Tranie has spaced out the tables in the salon and only 2 pedicure chairs are being used for spacing. They have hand sanitizer everywhere and masks if you forget. They added $2 charge but really that's nothing, I don't know where else I could go for a gel pedicure (30-40 mins) for $37. You have to call for an appointment but they are very flexible with hours! read more

All three nail techs always listen to me when I say short and round. The gel application to my toes is always close to my cuticles and it never chips/stays on forever (like until the nails outgrow the polish). Lots of colors to choose from. Found this place in a whim because I was in desperate needed of a manicure! I googled, called and set my appointment. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Tranie. She did my mani pretty quick but was very precise, cleaned them up real nice! Best part of all, the salon is family owned and they offer like 90s-early 2000s prices lol!! I was surprised because most places charge a lot more, mind you I didn't get the FULL manicure experience, but then again I didn't need it. Found this mail shop on yelp. Called to make an appointment as they only take appointments and they were able to get me in same day within the hour. Spoke with both Jimmy and Trannie. I asked for gel manicure which is $30 and gel pedicure which was $40 with the spa chair. Super sweet family owned business husband, wife and niece. Arrived for my appointment and was offered water immediately and a spot in a massage chair. Both Jimmy and Trannie have been in the mail industry 28 years. Love that it's family owned and operated. Prices are super reasonable and their gel color selection is great. Jimmy really took his time on my cuticles and dead skin which I genuinely appreciated. A lot of nail places are in a hurry to get you in and out, but that's not the case here since they don't overbook and only take appointments so they are always on time and take their time to meet each clients needs. She did not do a good job, she didn't even put my pinky nail straight. She left everything so bumpy and didn't even paint the whole nails. She filed them for a while and they where still so thick. So I got a gift certificate for Christmas probably 2 or 3 years ago and finally used it! I had heard such great things about this place but if you know me I am terrible at using gift cards and certificates. I had a massage gift certificate for 5 years once so this was good! Anyhow I scheduled an appointment finally! I had a pedicure with Jimmy and a manicure with a young lady who I forgot her name....sorry I was so happy I forgot to ask. So I'm picky with my pedicures, manicures are always eh ok but I do my own nails so I don't really care about them. Jimmy gave me a great pedicure, I will definitely be back for a Pedi! The place is small and intimate and you need an appointment which in my case is rough because my schedule always sucks! They offer you chocolate and water, my little slice of heaven. They also offer waxing and Tranie's mom does alterations! I will definitely bring a few items of clothing with me next time. Two birds one pumice stone.....gosh that was cheesy. It's been almost 2 weeks since I got my gel manicure and so far it's holding up pretty well. I just got a color no design and paid $23. That's the cheapest I've found gel manicures. Usually they are a lot more at other places. This place is just a traditional nail salon. They have parking in the front on the street and a lot in the back. It's not very big inside so you probably want to make reservations. My nails came out well and I was satisfied with them especially for how much I paid and will come back for future manicures. The pedicures here are a little more than I'm used to paying so I go elsewhere for my pedi. I didn't feel like this place was anything special. I didn't feel overly comfortable or amazed. I had come here years ago to get my nails done for prom and they were wonderful back then, but this review is solely about this recent trip. I called on one of their closed days, left a message with date and time we'd like to come in, and the next day I get a text saying it was confirmed- that was fast! We come in at 10:00 A.M. 2/14/18 and are immediately greeted by Tranie, her husband, and their niece. Tranie got to work on my Fiancé and her husband and niece set to work on me. I came for a gel mani pedi, while he came for just a pedi. For my hands, (I didn't get her name) their niece was so wonderful, she did a great job, and my nails look so beautiful. I got French tips and they look gorgeous. Tranie's husband was busy with my pedicure. I'll be honest, he gives the BEST leg/foot massages during the pedicure, and he spends at least 10 minutes on each leg. The parking is a little scarce since it's just street parking. From the outside, the building is a little sore on the eyes but the inside is so cute and cozy. They have 3 spa chairs, and when we went in it was just the two of us! Overall, Tranie and her family give such exquisite service and deserve all the props they get. I truly enjoyed my Valentine's Day Mani/Pedi and can't wait to come get another done from them again! read more

I'm so lucky to have found such an awesome nail salon. -Family owned & operated: Tranie, her husband Jimmy, and Tranie's sister Jenny, are the only employees here. They don't try to upsell you or push more services onto you- they just want you to relax and have a good time! I have always left more than happy, and if I chip or break a nail, I can just call in and they will fit me in! I LOVE that! They never make you feel bad or like a burden if you have to come in for a chipped nail or whatever. They genuinely care about their clients, and I LOVE that! -Great services. I get a gel fill and pedicure every time I come in, and they are ALWAYS consistent. Jenny & Tranie do the manicures & fills, and Jimmy does the pedicures. Both Jenny & Tranie are awesome and do my nails exactly how I like them. Oh, and Jimmy gives an ammmmmaaaazzzzinnnnggg foot massage! Hands down (LITERALLY) the best nail salon in San Diego. I love it here so much! I've gotten several gel manicures and each time has been absolutely flawless. Tranie and Jenny have both done my nails, and they are so sweet and so good with everything. Jimmy did a pedicure for me as well, and it was heavenly. Prices are super, super fair. The setting is intimate and really relaxing. You can walk-in, but they're so popular, that I would suggest making an appointment just to be play it safe. I mean, I made one just a day ahead of time, and it was no big deal at all. You should really be doing that anyway. It's kind of silly to get angry at a really successful nail salon just because they're super booked, especially during the holidays...Everyone wants to get dem holiday nailz done! This is my new favorite nail place! Tranie did my gel mani with design and she was so sweet and made me feel comfortable. My husband got there a little early and they were really nice to him as well. I had originally booked mani and pedi but they had me down for a mani only but were able to fit me in for a pedi (with a good massage) in my limited time I had left before I had to leave for another appointment.
